  1. qb>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ni starter in the cfl. Would you like to trade darian durant for rory kohlert?
  2. Love cow town. Really gets expensive to live there though. For that money id rather live in bc again. Edmonton seems like winnipeg x1.5 to me. I was once at the down town bus depot and could have sworn i was in wpg back at the old bus depot before it moved to the airport. Idk how you see that. Wpg has a massive Filipino community, an African community that has very quickly grown to good size. The largest urban reserve in canada. Large, and old russian/ukranian community. Filipinos have spread pretty heavily through out the larger none wpg cities and into the small towns around mb. Where we also have the largest portion of hudderites and mennonites in the world. Plus a ton of mexican and french people. As a youth sitting in coffee shops on the weekends with my parents it was common place to be surrounded by a din of 3+ languages at a time. In the south end of the city the none filipino asian community is pretty large too. Having lived all over western canada Id say we are actually pretty diverse. Compared to the above low lands bc area, and many parts of alberta especially. In mid and up bc you find a mix of asian, and natives with a ton of dutch people.
  3. I actually see us in the cross over narrowly. A home play off game sure would be great though.
  4. if you think cost is going to be the primary limiting factor for a team that is in the the back of the play off race with qb struggles or a starter with injury concerns and no viable back up you might be too. Also, as pointed out in this thread earlier, its more like iirc 170k for the rest of the season. Some thing like 90k less then mtl paid for half a season of henoc muamba.
  5. 2 against the riders 1 lions 1 redblacks. 2 of argos stamps esks and the 2nd games against leos redblacks. I think we take the 2nd game against the argos, and one of the rest. Probably the esks. I like how our O and D match up against theirs. my 2 c
  6. Mmm idk, dressler has been banged up a lot this year and smith hadnt found a chemistry. I wouldnt say this group of WRs is horrific by any stretch. neither willy or nichols could find kohlert this year to save their lives. Nichols hadnt looked at harris at all going into last game. Where he finally got decent use as a pass catcher. Denmark in his stretch has been our best wr this year. Mayo has been good too. Willy certainly had more star power at wr. Plops offensive play call has also been improving with the season. Last game and the first hammy win really stand out to me. id love to know how either guy would perform with 100% healthy and best talent on the field. Im hoping more for the rest of the team to be healthy and on the field more then which qb starts. And for plop to continue to refine his offense.

I wonder who is next for woodley. Before the fight i would have said it should be wonder boy. Now maia has made a heck of a claim. But woodley wants a huge money fight, and isnt that kind of draw him self. I wouldnt mind watchin maia and wonderboy fight each other while woodley fights GSP but I dont think that happens. I hate to think of both of them sitting waiting for a belt shot.
  8. yeah weve had some dismal offensive halfs of football with him. Weve seen a couple pick 6s dropped by the d, and wrs break up would be picks. Its funny how some people think nichols is responsible for the turn around of the OL, and D but isnt the reason why we struggle when we do. The prejudice of winning. Nichols may be able to evolve into a very good manage the game, dont lose the game kind of qb. hes been part of why weve won for certain. But the main stay of the credit goes to D and ol. Thats a good point too. If your qb is struggling that much, no $ price is too much to fix it. How much did mtl dish out last year for a half a season from henoc? Wasnt it some thing crazy like 200-250k?
  9. mmm i see that. He certainly has a great effect on the defense and special teams. That would certainly make it a whole lot tougher. Hes certainly more of a play maker. In that case I imagine he would be favored over loffler. I dont watch or listen to much media or news. ):
  10. Bond has certainly been a key in the OL turn around. No question. Ol award generally goes to a guy like that, the veteran long time dominant ol over a young buck. It is a small sample size, part of a half of the season. If bond plays like he has for the rest of the year or close to it, he would certainly be deserving and in the running for rookie of the year. Though guys who make a visible impact are tough to beat.
  11. does he qualify? I didnt think so due to his nfl time.
  12. No doubt. It seems like we are finally getting the bob wylie effect. Doesnt hurt we have the best talent on the field and healthy for the most part either. All depends on his mind set imop. If he comes back playing his best ball with a fire lit under his butt, or even the ball he played early last year and prior I wouldnt be surprised to see him take the starters spot back. But if he sees time again, or if he is repairing his confidence and mental ability is a big question.
  13. Willy didnt. But nichols hasnt exactly lit things up with great field position either. He has gotten dramatically better field position and tons more turn overs from the D plus a drastically improved OL. Willy is a gamble at this point. Cant have any idea how he is really going to re act when put back in. If we can get talent that helps now and some futures thats not bad at all. Our system isnt overly demanding of the qb, its a ton of high percentage passes and taking what the D gives you. A guy like him probably does best with a change of scenery and reduction in pressure.
  14. how many starts did marcus crandell get for wally buono? You have any idea how many turds he turned over to find his diamonds? Kilgore had some nice flashes early. But fyi early khari jones ,ricky ray, damon allen, jeff garcia, ac etc werent world beaters either. How long did it take for ricky ray to take the starter job from maas? But no his no1 qb was hurt and the guy he developed left in the previous off season so he was running out a young guy and had to see what he had. He had flashes, and struggles, especially against our ridiculous turn over forcing D. He totally should have dominated. fire SM
  15. Willy was completing passes at a very similar rate to nichols. he was missing guys but had drops too. We went from giving up the most sacks and hits on the qb to what one sack in 2 games? No hits at all in the game before last. It wasnt all willy, just like it isnt all nichols. The team over all was playing much poorer at that point, and its not all because of the qb either way.
  16. Picks for how the rest of the season will play out. For the team and players as you see fit. record 11-7. most outstanding player. Andrew harris. His blocking, clutch runs, great catching out of the back field and running at times with a struggling OL. Hes done every thing you could ask for. Lineman Stanley bryant. The ol has been up and down, but hes allways steady. Even in some games where the OL played its worst he managed some strong plays. canadian Harris again. defense A hard one. Lots of guys should be in the running, but Mo leggett has been clutch, and steady. his lapses are very few and far between. teams Justin medlock. The split in touches with fogg and mcduffie will make the best kicker in the league an easy choice. rookie Taylor loffler. Slam dunk, Random predictions. No wr with over 1k yards receiving. Andrew harris combines for over 2k yards from the line of scrimmage. Ian wild leads the league in tackles. Fogg and leggett finish 1 and 2 in interceptions . Nichols finishes with 2500 yards, 65% completion, 6 picks 16 tds.
  17. It certainly is an impressive list of doing the same type of work at the pro level. cant take that away from him. When a guy has that many pro jobs doing the same thing, hes doing some thing right. especially when you look at the number of organizations.
  18. Its not the number of roles hes held that impresses me. Its the number of high quality qbs hes managed. Either he has a wally buono size horse shoe in his butt or he knows how to scout, develop, and manage qbs. Weve seen guys like bellefool with a long history struggle greatly. Rod rust and others as well. How about that comparison, buono vs milanovich. Buono has certainly had the highest level of success for the longest. But milanovich is slowly creeping up on him.
  19. I would certainly love either of those. I dont think lulay happens. Glenn, idk. At the same time, glenn will win you the game or lose you the game. I dont think he can manage the game like nichols is. Even if nichols (imop) hasnt been great and glenn is better, I think in our system glenn would do worse. Wow this topic got crazy de railed.
  20. No clue. Dont know if we'd have an advantage with that or not either. If they are interested id flip one of neufeld/keeping as well. Ideally get back a package of guys/picks.
  21. anthony coombs would be a nice pick up. Could play some wr and rb to back up harris. Take lochards spot. I also like cody fajardo as a prospect.
  22. it used to happen actually. Teams would blast generic crowd noise through the speakers. Dave ritchie complained about it, a team was penalized then the next week the refs handed the penalty right back to us.
  23. besides the money, the fact that not retaining him worked out soo poorly would only reinforce a desire not to repeat that situation. The double standard here with qbs is causing people to blind them self to the facts. Willy is damaged, not ruined. How much so the teams have a much better idea then the board. He was considered a strong mid level qb with high potential going into the season. The league is generally qb driven, its a rare thing for a D and teams like ours to perform as they have over the long run. The difference between nichols and willy isnt as great as some would think. What is, is more intangible. The OL turn around, D rounding out into maybe the best in the league, and teams steady improvement into a top unit isnt all because of the qb. Nichols was apart of the winning atmosphere we developed, but not the soul cause of it. Willy fits Torontos system as well. And millanovich likes to test the mettle of his qb and put them in the hardest situations. Doesnt get much harder then the first few weeks of our season. montreal could look to move on from glenn who wont get any better. Hamm could be interested if they believe now that masoli is no longer a qb of the future or present. I could see some other teams interested in him cheaper for a back up. Having a guy on the bench who has won games, and in the clutch late in games is a valuable asset. The question is at what price. if he is a stop gap in case a star qb gets hurt, hes worth less and if they have to pay him a lot of money the value is even lower. Look at the far worse qbs weve seen cycled through the league for a long time. If willy was a FA he would have plenty of interest. I dont think there is going to be massive return by any means if we traded him. Probably a package that slides around salary cap relief and young talent. The other team taking more or less of willys deal, neg listers, maybe current young prospects or depth draft picks.
  24. false advertising! lol To be fair, ham was a power house of a team with much hype going into the season. They are .500 thanks to us. Its not like we are going into all these games with them being sask esq. The league has a ton of parity this year. as shown by the standings and records. ott (with out hank at qb) bc and calgary are the class of the league. Calgary will have a real hard time keeping up that hot start. Some might argue ott is in the middle tier, but imop they are at the bottom of that top 3, and my favorites to win the east. Sask is toast extra burnt. mtl has a ton of talent but is a couple losses away from being cellar dwellers too. Thats the fairly clear bottom. ham, to, edm, and the blue are in the middle. We are all fairly even. We have a leg up on to and ham. edm has a leg up on us. One of our tier is probably gonna be the 3rd team to miss the play offs. And it could be a dog fight to the end of the season. We are in a position roughly to fight for a home play off game in the semi. And thats about right for our record and the strength of the teams we've played. This team reminds me a lot of the 2000-2001 team. I dont expect the win streak to go that long, but I dont expect us to win 7 games either. Win streak, re emergence of the franchise, finding a bunch of new guys that are big time players, and a roster finally gelling into a team.

looking at the dates yeah he inherited that stuff. (I know less about wrestling then the riders know about class) Id say there is a very good chance then looking closer at the time lines that he inherited a lot of built in hype. yeah that was an awful decision. I think every one but those 2 judges had it 30-27. Thats what i had it and the vast majority of people on mma decisions had it for barzola. Fight metrics points to him winning clearly too. idk whats worse, mma judging or the use of the 10 point or less system.
