haha that sounds like an awesome time, i cant imagine a dave ritchie esq color/pbp call.

Does that extend to the nearly nonsensical rambling stories or was that part all ritchie? Ask a question, get a story, no idea what it means but sounds good.

Thats an interesting question. We under performed heavily at DL. Against both the run and rushing the passer. Despite having a bunch of talent. What ever the cause thats gotta be high on the list of priorities this off season. -
He was like our own yogie berra.

Coach ritchie was ride or die with his vets. He lived by the sword and died by the sword. When the vets wheels fell off and got too long in the tooth things turned around on him. BUT to his credit he missed the play offs as a HC what once? the first year here? And nearly made it then. The closely bonded team atmosphere of us against the world, allways having his guys back etc got the most out of his vets. People though the likes of coleman, mcgriggs etc were toast when they landed here. But they had great performance left in them and he got it. He also benched kerwin bell for the kind of young gun khari jones. Troy mills, ryland wickman, and eric blount for charles roberts, arland bruce, albert johnson the 3rd, garrick jones, doug brown and juran bolden didnt have cfl experience, I could go on. I would argue that the entire franchise top to bottom was trying to hold onto the 2001 dream team right till he was fired and did a poorer and poorer job going out and finding good young talent, to push and replace the old guys. Same height as fogg, frederick, johnson, 1 inch taller then mo, and randle. But hey macho is 6 foot. That forehead real estate is super valuable. Didnt find a lot about him, not surprising he didnt play at the highest level. But at that level he was considered a fantastic cover guy. The exact opposite of fogg. Not a guy to get turn overs, but allways in position, tons of pass knock downs, and supposed to be very physical. Small school cover dbs are tough to evaluate. Id say hes boom or bust. But he does seem to have the desirable tool set.

kind of like montreal last year xD didnt they bring like 10 qbs to camp? Thats the truth. Of the 3 I like montreal the best to turn it around. And toronto is most likely to be in the same spot next year. Whats the skinny on the green side with dylan ainsworth? Young NI at a ratio breaker position who seemed to be real good on teams. -

Maybe because he took the riders to a win against ottawa putting up 350+ yards when the riders were 0 fer with durant previously on the season. Maybe because hes a little bit younger then davis, but played a ton more football at both college and the pro level. And managed to take a no2 spot and as previously mentioned start and win a game in the cfl. vs being a default no3. Or maybe because he has a better passing tool set. -

Especially if you are a HC. The job security is poor at best. -
I heard allegedly WSOF is done now. I hope gaethje comes to the ufc, and most of the rest goes to bellator. They could really use a strong shot in the arm so far as talent. And that would go a long ways to making them a legit pro circuit and less of a circus fight. ali bagautinov and zach makovsky both got cut today. A bit surprising. I liked bagautinov. He lost 3 of his last 4. But those 3 were to horiguchi, joseph benavidez, and DJ. Cutting him and keeping around a guy like big country is just another blow to the credibility of the sport. Makovsky lost 3 in a row. But again benavidez and dodson. It would be like if in the play offs instead of the bombers playing the lions the cfl stepped in and said well the riders would draw more and toronto is more important to league media coverage so bc and wpg are out ssk and to are in.

no kidding. Two cfl coaches taking pretty good jobs down south this off season. He probably is gonna make more money as the QB coach too. -

short of trade i think we are down to the plan B tier of back up qbs. which is kinda thin. The difference between most of em isnt great. Davis severe lack of snaps puts him firmly in no3 range. Maybe he steps up big time and wins no2 in camp but going into camp we gotta get some one with experience.Especially since allegedly we are bringing MBT back into camp. Whole lot of experience lacking between those two above the HS level. -

Or one of the 4-5 better wrs we have available sure. Its a back up, not a position you plan around but prepare around. Considering the record number of turn overs our D forced and FGs medlock kicked ill take any TDs we can get. -
you mean the era that gave us the likes of blink, milt, doug brown etc? We should have won 2 grey cups easily in that time. Over the last 25 years weve had teams with among the best offenses and defenses in that era. Other teams have won cups in the last 25 years but seen much worse decision making.

No joke. If she can translate that to the pro level she will be around for a long long time. Yeah pretty much. I would still like to see kohlert in TC, but coming in having to fight and win a spot. He was pretty awful last year. Gale wouldnt be the top of the list for the back up spot but would still be solid. If davis goes into tc as qb2 ill be scared. thats the truth. You have to take their performance with a real grain of salt. Same goes for MTL. Yeah he was really good on teams the last 2 years and has up side. Hes only 24 years old too. His cutting is crazy. Maybe he really wants a chance to start? -

riders cut a few prior to free agency. Dylan ainsworth a DL / teamer NI would be solid. Shamawd chambers could be use full in TC with the weak performance of our ni wrs last year. Mitchell gale was also let go. Wasnt he supposed to be apart of the qb situation that would certainly be better then what ever we have this coming year? -
No huge splashes, but a few solid back up type deals. I hope we bring in a bunch of DEs and a couple Lbs from down south to push the Dline and bass. That and I hope we get a legit back up qb.

The few high end ones like muamba earn big pay days. Of which sask has how many? Under jones they have spent like mad men on Imps. And over all far more money is paid to imps then NI in the cfl. -

Thats simply wrong. "The CFL slapped Saskatchewan with a $60,000 fine and cut the team's salary cap by $26,000 for using ineligible players during practices." "The CFL 's player salary cap is defined as part of the Salary Management System framework. For the 2016 season, the CFL Maximum Salary Expenditure Cap (SEC) is $5.1 million per team" Look at what MTL had to do mid season to get under sms. Sask was against it the year before last and had to cut down. But re spent. Then late in the year were again right up against it. Now, they are spending like drunken frat boys. QFT. it may be the off season but still it isnt that slow we need politics to bleed over in here. -

For glenn to go there soo early makes me think he didnt go for peanuts. You mean like the henoc muamba deal? That and Nis dont eat up the majority of cap space, imps do. Like duron carter. -

Where are the riders coming up with all this cap space? Werent they right up against it last year? Is jones just saying eff it? Carter is a great talent. But the greatest degree of head case. Itll be interesting to see if it was the setting in mtl or if he is a nutter. -
Must be related to daenerys targaryen, or robert baratheon. Titles titles titles. He was better then meh, he showed a great flash with hamilton against us alone. Not to mention the time darvin adams missed. Or smiths lack of production for most of last year. 8/14/11 games for adams smith and dressler. Dressler hasnt played 18 games since 2011 and that was the only time. Smith hasnt played 18, Adams hasnt played 18 either. Denmark played 18 3 years in a row going into last year. and missed 2 games total over the 5 years prior to last. He isnt big, but he is durable.

Would be a good move for him. HC jobs in the ncaa tend to be very plush, with much better job security and far greater control of the team. Not to mention college kids are generally easier to coach then pros. If he is canned and takes another job in the cfl this year he'd be an OC for sure. Short of a fantastic year as an OC he probably isnt high on the list to HC next year either. Going down to the ncaa for a couple years though could easily put him in a position to come back as a HC if he wanted. The right deal is probably more money to HC down their then OC up here too.
