  1. because GD is where talk goes to die I think it would have been solid for a win this year move, if the browns traded down for him and went with an old vick type offensive game plan. Id take allen over any other qb in this draft. Idk if any one of the qbs are good enough to be a real bust this year. if its any one imo its darnold.
  2. Im not a fan. I think he plays far too upright. He may well be a good back for a few years. I cant see him being a franchise back in terms of quality of play or longevity. Sure this draft had no sure fire no1 pick. But imo a big back who plays like a small back isnt some thing you take in the top 5-10 short of a horrible draft year. I like mayfield too. I think he is the 3rd best qb prospect in the draft though. Im not as much worried about his size, as I am about him playing in front of a team fielded by the browns. Dude is gonna get rocked, and imop doesnt deal with getting hit/pressured frequently very well. In many cases I think its ok to put a rookie qb in as starter right away. BUT you gotta have atleast 1 wr who can make plays for him, a decent running game to take pressure off him and a OL that will take a drive killing penalty before letting him get smashed. I dont think the browns have all that. I hope he sits too. I love the fire in his gut. I had rosen and allen as better players/prospects im also not a fan of darnold at all. I dont think he is fast enough to frequently beat pressure at the nfl level, or good enough to operate with in the lines of a system. I think he has been hit far too much already and doesnt protect the ball for stink. A running qb who loses a lot of fumbles and throws a lot of pics is a recipe for disaster. His delivery is soo bloody slow and janky I dont think he can beat the rush with his release at all either. If he and allen switched schools and production, allen would go no1 and darnold would have gone in the 5th round. Agree about Rbs. To be a top 3 pick as a rb you gotta be special these days. And complete. totally think the browns should have traded down too. Baseball uses 3 days to get through 50 rounds. But then the nba spends 10 hours to do one round. Idk id like to see drafts become much quicker paced and then just have a long post show to talk about pics.
  3. I get that itd make things more of a gamble. But already teams are cutting off the top tier of talent and qualifying that as futures pics. I dont think we see many surprises among who gets nfl camp invites etc. I just think its the wrong direction, pushing to stay ahead of the nfl. Id rather start sooner. Maybe its the off season crazies giving me their last kick. A mini camp for the entire draft class would be good too. Get a group of coaches qbs etc from across the league to do an extra mini camp with the kids.
  4. yep and they still will miss the best qb in each round of the draft.
  5. Maybe im crazy but i feel like draft year players missing out on mini camp is a loss for the league. I know they push the draft back so we know who is gone with nfl deals but Id rather just let it be a gamble.
  6. Imo DL is the last place we change. if healthy we gotta put those 4 back in place as starters. NI for bond (probably neuf though im pulling for a young guy like couture) and either a ni db or a wil to play with jsk. Maybe a rotation between those two positions with a new guy rotating at wil.
  7. remember a couple years ago when all our DBs looked out of this world in camp but it turned out the offense was the problem? Im just glad it isnt that problem any more. if one db steps up and steals a job thats fantastic. if every other wr and db only end up pushing our guys in camp and give us a couple guys to develop Ill be happy. I think we have a very high likely hood of starting the season with 4 imp wrs and one ni. Dressler? not replaced this year imo. Cept for possibly getting banged up for a few games.
  8. Johnson sure looks interesting. Tons of pass break ups, few blocked kicks, and looks like a very strong tackler. especially for his weight.
  9. Innocent until proven guilty. For both finch and the cops. I Hope nothing horrible is going on with either. But if I had to bet one the cops or finch being dirty, my money is on the cops sadly.
  10. the theatre viewing i went to showed the option for the VIP 100 dollar ticket where you would get an advanced digital copy. perhaps the massive hit it has become is causing them to scramble to get more copies to other areas when it come sout? Could you (pre) buy one on amazon.com and have em ship it up here?
  11. Need is one thing depth is another.
  12. Ross has some really nice accuracy. Love seeing that level of ball location. Throwing guys open, hitting the perfect spot for each pass, protecting wrs and the ball, especially how he consistently hits his man in stride and leaves running with out a hitch. Looks to have above average athleticism, but still has strong pocket presence. Not the strongest arm but looks able to reach back for enough for the deep pass. Undersized by modern nfl standards, small school big production spread offense less then great arm sounds like every qb already in the cfl lol. http://www.goccusports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/alex_ross_758791.html
  13. killer reference. I loved that mini series.
  14. Id a taken a 50 some thing greg battle over hurl last year.
  15. sure is an odd one. You look at his measurable and think wrecking ball. Then watch him play and its a whole other thing. He runs upright, even in short yardage plays. Doesnt show elite break away speed, but at the same time with running up right hes in 3rd gear by the time any contact comes and runs through arm tackles. Pretty balanced sped wise. Not crazy speed but good speed. Doesnt have elite quicks but has the ability to make people miss. A little bit of quicks and running with a little bit of power can make for a whole lot of yards. Shows good vision with cut back lanes and recognizing the hole and punches through some really tight gaps. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/cierre-wood?id=2540209 http://www.und.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/cierre_wood_460498.html Gonna be another great battle in camp. Last year we had some crazy talent and depth at RB too. Itll be entertaining but cracking the roster is about as hard at rb as it gets for us.
  16. - ni depth. bombers arent gonna draft a tail back with their first round pick.
  17. its a beautiful city too.
  18. in the cfl I dont think so. I think a lot of teams weigh BPA with needs and positions of depth. Though its possible no team is ever close to the same page over all, I think after the top tier of talent it gets wide open. So the difference between BPA and a player a team likes better or fills the roster better is a big factor.
  19. compared to life no doubt it was trivial. His life is gone and the others is little more then over as well.
  20. I predict a bunch of balls will drop. but mostly because its football season again! I also predict we will field a 4th passer for mini camp. A bison or rifle qb? perhaps the acadia rifle bob cameron? probably too busy renoing houses. Some one new? possibly but doubtful. Buck pierce? who knows. But I dont think we will roll through mini camp with 3 arms. Deeper into my crystal ball i see over all every one having a solid mini camp. But that the fastest wrs will shine the most.
  21. Faith ekakitie had some scary situation with the cops and looking like a person they were after. Some of these guys get up here and fall in love with the way of life.
  22. Good size db too. Love guys that wrap n tackle, especially ones that attack the ball.
  23. Wouldnt think so but possibility young ni qbs are the hardest to get up here if they have nfl size imo. Im hoping its for flowers.
  24. One thing is for sure, we dont waste time on fresh qb prospects. I would imagine this move was made for one of two reasons. 1) we have other better prospects available or who we are confident will be available for camp Perhaps quinton flowers or 2) Maybe he was pricy and we are gonna go with a cheaper depth qb. Bryan bennett still with the riders? A fascinating story about earl wolff. https://www.si.com/mmqb/2016/08/09/nfl-jacksonville-jaguars-earl-wolff-tale-of-survival-armed-robbery-kidnapping http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/earl-wolff?id=2539966 Monster testing numbers. 4.4 40 11'2 broad jump 39" vert 4.07 shuttle two way player in HS who ran for over 1k yards. He sounds like a guy who kind of aged out of the nfl. Looks like some great tackling. Could have the flexibility to play S, sam or db up here. Very interesting pick up, gonna be a heck of a camp to watch this year.
  25. imo mo was hands down a better saftey as well. Very different players though. Football is football, you cant hide injury prone guys any place. (but kicker) Loffler already plays in the box or on the edge of the box like in a 4-6. I dont think we see the swap happen. I dont think they even look at it. In that case mo coming back from a serious injury with a real question mark also has to adjust back to S, loffler has to adjust to wil and JSK has to adjust to MLB. its a continuity nightmare and if one guy cant make the adjustment every thing falls apart.
