  1. 1. Dressler 2. Ogopogo. 3. Nichols - did pretty decent with (aside from Dressler) a decimated receiving corps. HH - Givens. On another aside.... Absolutely Medlock should have hit that field goal, but Lapo's questionable play-calling on the final 2 offensive play calls is suspect as well. Why would he run it up the gut on the 3rd-last play, then call an outside run on the last offensive play? It caused Medlock to have to kick from the right hash mark, after previously lining it up for him in the centre of the field. Especially when you consider in that scenario you are: 1. Down by 1, not tied. You have to make that kick as a team (or get a rouge at least) to stay in the game. 2. Have a kicker that has struggled recently, and has already missed once in this game, from the same area. 3. Are kicking into the wind. As we all now know, that kick was - wide right. Am I crazy here? I'm by no means a football guru, but to me, lining up a field goal in that situation is some pretty basic stuff. What would be the reason for calling an outside run like that... or is it as simple as Lapo trying to be unpredictable, and getting burnt?
  2. Gotta say, as much as it sucks he missed, how do you not play to the final whistle on that?
  3. Win as a team, lose as a team. I think people comparing Medlock this year to last year are forgetting that last year he kicked the most field goals in a single season. Ever. To be honest, in this game, the Bombers were completely outplayed and were lucky to even have a chance at winning on a last-second field goal. They played badly as a team, and they lost, as a team.
  4. Interestingly enough this SSK win officially ends B.C.'s bid for the post season. 2017 will be the first year the Lions have missed the post season since 1996. This was also the same year Scream and Independence day were released.
  5. If Edmonton also does us a favor next week and we take care of business on our end, we could still catch Calgary for 1st in the west.
  6. I am also a superstitious statistician.
  7. I wanted Calgary to lose, but not like this... with an embarrassing loss at home like this they're going to blow Edmonton out of the water next weekend.
  8. Literal quote from 'Riders radio broadcasters "Well, they're up 19 - 4, so they'll go for two, so that'll put them up by 11." lol
  9. 'Riders gonna rough.
  10. Sounds like Glenn has been mentoring Bridge.
  11. I hope he gets burnt for a TD, at least once.
  12. Nope, just tired of Mitchell's smug mug and attitude.
  13. The way the 'Riders have silenced this crowd gives me hope for the Western final...whether its' us, Saskatchewan, Edmonton or B.C., I hope Calgary falls flat on their face in the playoffs.
  14. It's a long-shot, but technically we would want the Riders to win if we still want a shot at first place in the west.
  15. I wouldn't hire the majority of those guys to sling drinks at the rum hut, let alone throw passes.
  16. That is impressive, provided you omit the fact that the "other 9 QBs" are the likes of: Justin Goltz Alex Brink Max Hall Drew Willy Brian Brohm Robert Marve Joey Elliott Buck Pierce (Towards end of career - didn't have many starts 2012-2015) Dominque Davis (only 1 start) I love me some Matt Nichols, and there's no doubt he's been a game-changer... but that is an ugly, ugly compilation of QBs to compare to.
  17. For those of you talking about how we should not have released Thorpe, I present the curious case of Nic Grigsby. A player of similar talent that asked for his release. The Bombers obliged, and Grigsby bounced around the league a bit, before finally being released in 2016 by the Redblacks. Asking to be released is the regular job equivalent of handing in your two weeks notice, then having your boss say you can't quit, but you still have to show up to get paid. The bottom line is football is a team sport, if you hang on to players that don't want to be there, they won't put in the work, and they'll just cause dissent among the ranks. No doubt Thorpe was talented, but if he doesn't want to be part of the team or system - get rid of him.
  18. This makes me wish Cory "poop" Johnson was a RB for the sheer nickname hilarity.
  19. Sorry to state the obvious, but isn't that what any agent is supposed to do?
  20. I am optimistically donning my tinfoil hat that this is all part of O'Shea's cloak-and-dagger tactics and that Leggett, Adams and Westerman will all return for the Grey Cup run. Seriously though as long as he's back for the WSF I think we'll be alright...
  21. Obligatory mention that fighting for extra yards unnecessarily also opens up receivers to more fumbles, as defenders try to rip the ball out. Exhibit A: T.J. Harris.
  22. I don't think they will based on the tailspin B.C. is in right now... but I would absolutely love to see B.C. eke out a berth over the 'Riders.
  23. Obviously a big blow for our defense, but also hurts our special teams as well as he returned missed field goal attempts. If Adams hadn't been knocked out of the game earlier, he wouldn't have been the 'designated receiver' on the onside kick to begin with...
  24. Can I give him my Achilles? Desk job and I wouldn't mind hobbling around for a bit. Too bad it doesn't work like that.
