C'mon Ti-cats, do us a favour and do something other than suck and lose.
-
Only nitpick is I find the chat is slow... might be just me though.

1. Chris Randle - fumble recovery right when we needed it and has been consistent contributor, despite defensive injuries elsewhere. 2. T.J. Thorpe - Runs hard after the catch. 3. Medlock - Mr. automatic, had some booming kicks, kicked the game-winner, and a pair of rouges off kickoffs that ended up factoring in when it came down to the wire. HH - Quincy McDuffie for idiotically giving up that rouge in the final 3 minutes. Having the game tied made Ottawa play more aggressive on their own last series (going for the win) and ended up shooting themselves in the foot

I was gonna say, if Jeffcoat keeps it up, Ogopogo's days are numbered. Which is a shame because that'd be an awesome nickname.

Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
Eternal optimist replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm okay with them have Roc as an enthusiastic, hard-working, run-through-walls-for-the-team guy for us... As long as he's running through walls on the practice roster, that is. -

I would agree with you, except Hamilton has looked absolutely horrendous so far this season to the point of being non-competitive in all phases. Ottawa on the other hand has only 1 more win than Hamilton, but they are much better than 1-4-1 (as opposed to Hamilton at 0-6). A loss Friday would bring alot of Weiceks and other naysayers out of the woodwork, and the talks of a .500 team will begin anew. -

Cautiously optimistic about this one, but this is a trap game for the Bombers if I've ever seen one. -
Obligatory mention that if Nichols holds for field goals, we'd be able to open the book up on fake field goals.
-
I would say our tackling is about average; but that injuries early on in the secondary have really hampered the D.

Argos @ Sask***TICATS @ CALGARY

Do the Ti-cats have a chance? Probably not, but that won't stop me from hoping they wipe Mr. Mitchell's smug smile off his face in surprising fashion. -

Gotta say ever since we turfed him post-2011, he's regressed. -
Former Blue Bomber players

I always find it weird how in the CFL you want players that are as good as possible, whilst still getting cut by the NFL. You want to see players that got their big break up here succeed, but it'd be something if Matthews got cut and came back to us. The boost of Adams and Matthews together would be awesome. Sadly, I don't think Matthews will be looking north anytime soon. -

In theme with the lean era, Chris Matthews was bright while he was here, even though he was surrounded by garbage and a revolving door at QB. -

We've all been guilty of forgetting about that disowned cousin that reads at a 5th grade level before... apparently the CFL does so too from time to time. -
Style points for Odell Willis kicking off for the Eskimos hah

Edmonton going for it on 3rd and 14? Did O'Shea hijack their playcalling?
-
Man, Edmonton looks like a force thus far this year.

On top of that the game was on a weekday...

I thought the essays were due Monday?

You're missing my point - comebacks do happen obviously; it is part of the game. That said, how many other times has a team been playing with the lead, set up a prevent D and it has worked? It's boring, its passive, and it chews up the clock. When run properly, it wins games. Just like anything else there's a fine line between playing with the lead and playing too conservatively. You argue the Als lost that game playing Prevent D... I argue the Lions won last week by holding us to a 50-yard field goal.
-
In most situations, the Prevent D in that situation, up by multiple scores, minimal time on the clock... works. If it didn't work... teams wouldn't play it and would do other things as you're suggesting.

It was really interesting to see the entire atmosphere at IGF change after they recovered the onside kick. Up until that point, the crowd had been pretty noncommittal. That said though, there were countless times at IGF last year where Drew Willy would rack up yards and TDs in garbage time only to fall short of anything meaningful. -

If it's any consolation, his parting words on the pregame were that he wanted to make his deadline (for his newspaper column) ... nothing like 13 points in the final 100 seconds to botch his column I'm sure.
