  1. Personally I blame those pesky defensive players
  2. Nah. They are professionals, yes, but the Als still have something to play for (hosting the East Semi Final). I would be very surprised if this game is even close, but the reasoning by the coaching staff is understandable and rational. Als 24 Wpg 10
  3. I will also say that the Nintendo Switch has a subscription package option - for $25 a year you get access to a slew of old NES and SNES games on emulator format. It's the equivalent of XBox Live or whatever, except as an emulator you can pause and rewind games. It's nice because if I (for example) wanted to dredge up and play some old Tecmo Bowl on the NES, instead of dragging out my old NES and finding the cartridge - you can access it through the Switch membership in minutes. Also lets you more easily save your progress, so if you're not technologically inclined (i.e., you aren't comfortable ripping and setting up your own emulator) it's a nice alternative. They also recently rolled out a 'premium' version that includes old N64 games, though the annual membership fee is quite a bit higher ($65 annually, before taxes, I think?) Just food for thought. I will also say that for myself - I have owned the following: SNES, gameboy, N64, Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, Switch as well as the Gameboy Advance, DS and 3DS. I'm only mentioning this to provide context - and to point out that, quite obviously I'm a bit biased towards Nintendo products. I can't really speak to either Playstation or Xbox, at least the more recent models.
  4. As a grown adult - highly recommended. Though I will say if RPGs are your cup of tea, it can be a bit sparse - if you like a variety of game types though - and also enjoy being able to play games with your wife / child casually - the Switch is great. Only complaint I have with it is Nintendo hasn't come to an agreement with Netflix, so it doesn't have that on it.
  5. Perfect. Sounds like a repeat of 2019
  6. 2001 was a great regular season, but there were definitely some instances of Lady Luck being on our side. The only game I felt we were lucky to eke out a win was the 18-16 win over Calgary. As for players getting complacent - I just can't see that happening with O'Shea or this core group of players.
  7. Ultimate goal is the Grey Cup. I would much rather another GC on an 11-3 season instead of going 13-1 and getting bounced in the West Final due to injuries to key players
  8. I am just saying home field advantage is a very real thing.
  9. If they win: Great, they won. Keep rolling. If they lose: Okay, well maybe MTL can catch HAM for hosting the East Semi-Final... Last thing I want is us to face HAM, at home, in a Grey Cup
  10. Personally, I always liked the pilot project used by Stockholm, Sweden. Cameras are fitted to issue tickets, but also track when vehicles obey or are below the speed limit. Drivers that obey the rules are entered into a lottery to win cash prizes. The prize pool is funded by the fines of people that speed. Of course, Winnipeg would never go for this idea because we actively rely upon speeding ticket revenue.
  11. I mean, the original concept of it was somewhat rational. It was originally for cases of homeowners defending themselves in their home. The typical logic would be if someone broke into your residence, because it is your home, you'd be justified in using otherwise unreasonable force, since you felt more threatened because it's essentially 'your castle' and you're defending your turf. However, the "stand your ground" takes it a step further, and removes the limitation on your residence. So that, for example, if you felt threatened in public, you can not only apply this rule as a defense, you can even actively pursue the threat until you feel it is extinguished, even if it means pursuing the supposed threat. Personally, I think it's absolutely absurd - the concept is very broad in interpretation - and whether someone (or something) is a threat is a very difficult thing to prove (or disprove) in court.
  12. I mean, I never had much desire to go the US before, but ever since Trump had been elected, short of flying through the US to other countries post-COVID... hard pass. Honestly I'd much rather stay in Canada - explore the Yukon or something. Way cheaper and more peaceful - plus less chance of getting killed, apparently.
  13. That is just sad.
  14. I dont even know why I was heckling him I had also picked him as my Lock of the Week that week
  15. Season all went downhill after I ripped on him for fumbling on that 3rd and 1 gamble way back when CAL was at IGF lol.
  16. Realistically i feel he is doing well when you consider he is basically our 4th receiver behind Lawler, Demski and Bailey...
  17. He is nowhere as much of a threat as he used to be, but Adams has humbly become a veteran in that recieving group. Blocks mean, too. Just crushes dudes.
  18. HH to Mike O'Shea for burning that timeout in the 1st quarter. We had too many men on the field. The play right after was the botched snap to the MTL punter. That timeout turned what would have been a penalty sustaining a MTL drive into a turnover for the Bombers ST. It's the little things.
  19. Friendly reminder an Alouette is a songbird. We are playing against songbirds tonight.
  20. https://legion.ca/remembrance/the-poppy-campaign Above link contains a listng of business which will have donation boxes. Not sure if other had had trouble finding poppies, but the link above has listing of businesses that have partnered. I can also say personally that most 7-11s have them too.
  21. Military Appreciation Night. Thank you to all who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and to those who continue to serve. Go blue!
  22. Sadly their 6-5 record combined with BC's loss tonight means the Als have already clinched a playoff spot. All that remains is whether Calgary or BC are in.
  23. Maybe this go around a Trevor Harris led offense can produce more net yards than safeties given up in the 1st quarter instead of just tying it.
  24. Aim higher.. I want Trevor Harris to announce his retirement at halftime
  25. Well, American Thanksgiving isn't for another couple weeks, maybe our D line feasts a bit early.
