  1. I am just saying home field advantage is a very real thing.
  2. If they win: Great, they won. Keep rolling. If they lose: Okay, well maybe MTL can catch HAM for hosting the East Semi-Final... Last thing I want is us to face HAM, at home, in a Grey Cup
  3. Personally, I always liked the pilot project used by Stockholm, Sweden. Cameras are fitted to issue tickets, but also track when vehicles obey or are below the speed limit. Drivers that obey the rules are entered into a lottery to win cash prizes. The prize pool is funded by the fines of people that speed. Of course, Winnipeg would never go for this idea because we actively rely upon speeding ticket revenue.
  4. I mean, the original concept of it was somewhat rational. It was originally for cases of homeowners defending themselves in their home. The typical logic would be if someone broke into your residence, because it is your home, you'd be justified in using otherwise unreasonable force, since you felt more threatened because it's essentially 'your castle' and you're defending your turf. However, the "stand your ground" takes it a step further, and removes the limitation on your residence. So that, for example, if you felt threatened in public, you can not only apply this rule as a defense, you can even actively pursue the threat until you feel it is extinguished, even if it means pursuing the supposed threat. Personally, I think it's absolutely absurd - the concept is very broad in interpretation - and whether someone (or something) is a threat is a very difficult thing to prove (or disprove) in court.
  5. I mean, I never had much desire to go the US before, but ever since Trump had been elected, short of flying through the US to other countries post-COVID... hard pass. Honestly I'd much rather stay in Canada - explore the Yukon or something. Way cheaper and more peaceful - plus less chance of getting killed, apparently.
  6. That is just sad.
  7. I dont even know why I was heckling him I had also picked him as my Lock of the Week that week
  8. Season all went downhill after I ripped on him for fumbling on that 3rd and 1 gamble way back when CAL was at IGF lol.
  9. Realistically i feel he is doing well when you consider he is basically our 4th receiver behind Lawler, Demski and Bailey...
  10. He is nowhere as much of a threat as he used to be, but Adams has humbly become a veteran in that recieving group. Blocks mean, too. Just crushes dudes.
  11. HH to Mike O'Shea for burning that timeout in the 1st quarter. We had too many men on the field. The play right after was the botched snap to the MTL punter. That timeout turned what would have been a penalty sustaining a MTL drive into a turnover for the Bombers ST. It's the little things.
  12. Friendly reminder an Alouette is a songbird. We are playing against songbirds tonight.
  13. https://legion.ca/remembrance/the-poppy-campaign Above link contains a listng of business which will have donation boxes. Not sure if other had had trouble finding poppies, but the link above has listing of businesses that have partnered. I can also say personally that most 7-11s have them too.
  14. Military Appreciation Night. Thank you to all who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and to those who continue to serve. Go blue!
  15. Sadly their 6-5 record combined with BC's loss tonight means the Als have already clinched a playoff spot. All that remains is whether Calgary or BC are in.
  16. Maybe this go around a Trevor Harris led offense can produce more net yards than safeties given up in the 1st quarter instead of just tying it.
  17. Aim higher.. I want Trevor Harris to announce his retirement at halftime
  18. Well, American Thanksgiving isn't for another couple weeks, maybe our D line feasts a bit early.
  19. Trevor Harris currently in the process of forging unvaccinated documents so he can avoid the trip to WPG.
  20. Of course it is different, every other team sucks lol
  21. Two entirely different conversations... One guy on the DNP list may be a long term project... The Stamps are dealing with several starters unable to play in the playoffs... Which is a much bigger problem for them. End of the day though... All of the above should get vaccinated... It is just the responsible thing to do.
  22. Nope. BC can (mathematically) make the postseason in the West - they are currently 4-7, and running the table would allow a 7-7 finish. That, combined with Calgary going 0-2 (finishing 6-8) would allow them to leapfrog them. Not saying it will happen, just saying that, mathematically speaking, it is a possibility. In other obscure playoff possibilities, BC, SSK and CAL could all (hypothetically) finish the season 7-7 invoking the CFL's wacky tiebreaker rule with 2+ teams. That said, it is extremely unlikely as ALL of the following would have to happen: - SSK goes 0-3 - CAL goes 0-2 - BC goes 3-0
  23. Well it's either that, or we develop a few games a week that require three teams to play... or one team to play.
  24. Fun fact: The most lopsided American College Football score in history was 222 - 0. The winning team was led by John Heisman (yes, the one the trophy is named after). He did so as a retaliatory act as the Cumberland College had earlier beaten up on the Georgia Tech's baseball team. Cumberland made no pass attempts, and had 27 rush attempts for -42 yards. They also lost 9 fumbles throughout the game.
  25. I think people trying to oust the 1 year contract rule are failing to realize most players dream of playing in the NFL... Not the CFL. If players were required to be locked in to a CFL contract at a cheaper rate, it just reduces our talent pool of Americans further.
