Week 3 Practice Notes & Discussions
Eternal optimist replied to M.O.A.B.'s topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I would def agree on catching the ball on the air... I know Jovon Johnson always used to let it bounce which drove me insane. If you're back there... You should have good enough hands to catch it on the fly. The Argos in the last game got flagged a few times for no yards and it definitely helped with field position. -

Yep. From what I remember, he had 2 punt returns for touchdowns at home against Calgary in the 1st half, but then also fumbled late in the first half trying to do too much. -
Absolutely Edwards was elite...in the latter part of his career he was the guy though. He had supporting cast like Jade Etienne, whereas Adams had Wolitarsky. My point is Edwards was more integral to the offense (and looked to more frequently) than Adams during his prime.
-
I think that is more indicative of how bad the other receivers around Edwards were, as opposed to how much better than Darvin he was. Also, our current O (notably 2019) was definitely a run first offense.

Week 3 Practice Notes & Discussions

Harris is miles ahead of Oliveria. Oliviera may be great later in his career, but right now he is still developing. Even just having Harris in the lineup helps, he drastically alters opponents scheming because they have to respect that he is just such a good release valve for Collaros. Also, as a vet, he is way less likely to miss blocking assignment than Brady, which makes blitzing riskier. Not relevant to our current injury situation, but man I miss Streveler. -
Hope he plays. Probably one of the only Bombers that talks good trash and backs it up with his playstyle to match. He always follows through on blocking assignments, too. Oh yeah and he's a great deep threat, but I think everyone here would know him for that.

Imagine being such a bad QB that the doctor's just like "Nah man, it ain't broken or anything, you just suck. Maybe try using the other arm?"

Weekly Power Rankings (after week 2)

Its all political. Let thembe high, who cares? I prefer opponents fat and happy when we face them. -
Pretty darn sure it is. The ballot is technically considered property of our fine government. Eating it would be a felony pretty sure but cannot source

Gambling Discussion
Eternal optimist replied to Pete Catan's Ghost's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Meh, regarding addictions (alcohol, gambling etc.) realistically it is always going to be around. VLTs etc. are a huge cash cow for the province, as well as the MLCC, both negatively impact marginalized people drastically. What's the alternative though? Outlaw it? Then it goes underground, and any support groups available become nonexistent, on top of that, the government wouldn't get their cut to boot. It's good ol' capitalism hypocrisy at its' finest, so much of the marketed stuff at sporting events is bad for you not just the gambling and the booze - the unhealthy food as well. You try to police any of that and you'll be lambasted for taking away the consumers' choice. TLDR; Riders suck. -
If it weren't illegal I would eat my ballot, then throw it up into the voting booth because these candidates make me sick.

CFL Week 2 Games (Non-Bombers) Thread
Eternal optimist replied to johnzo's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Personally, I think sometimes it is good to get non-Bomber fan input on items. Obviously everyone has differing views, but things can get too rosy if they are doing well and sometimes other non-Bomber fans can see things more critically. Also, some people just do it to troll, to each their own. -

These are the same Saskatchewan Roughriders that lost a Grey Cup for being unable to count (i) ? The ones that took multiple consecutive offside penalties from their own 1 yard line last night (ii)? The ones whose mascot was lambasted for going overboard on a stuffed lion, committing a sexually explicit act at a family event (iii)? The same team that overspent and broke rules regarding the salary cap and committed roster violations, in order to go 5-13 (iv)? The same 'Riders founded before World War 1 (in 1910), but didn't win a Grey Cup until after mankind successfully reached space (v)? The same Riders that have the same number of Grey Cup wins as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, a defunct team that hasn't played in the Grey Cup since 1926 (vi), which was the same year the first SAT was administered (vii)? This is the franchise you're complaining isn't being given respect? On their biggest rivals' forum? Are the 2021 Saskatchewan Roughriders the real deal? Maybe. Historically speaking though, as a franchise, you guys are trash. Sources: (i) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77L3gNDCUnw (ii) This was last night, I'm not sourcing it. On this day in history (August 14th) Saskatchewan opened the 1959 season with a 28-8 loss to Calgary. They would go on to have the worst Sask season in history (1-15) I don't know why a SSK business would run this information as an ad. I guess they are proud of their history?... -
