  1. Tyrell Sutton? I know we're obviously set at RB with Harris, but that would be one hell of a one-two punch. Lol, they could also bring back any of the following former castaways: Kevin Fogg Taylor Loffler Henoc Muamba
  2. Hope Medlock comes back. I'd argue kicker is the second-most important position on a CFL team behind QB.
  3. Was this really necessary? Who tf goes into a CFL game with only one QB?
  4. I think this stems a lot from the publicity surrounding contracts. You'll hear about star players making millions of dollars, but unfortunately, articles about cost of goods sold and direct costs are not catchy headlines...
  5. Personally... no. Whatever aberration would result from that would not be Canadian football as we know it, there would be a massive cutting of Canadian talent, as the rule requiring Canadian players would be one of the first things to be nixed. On top of all that, you're making the league's current dilemma (COVID-19) even worse, merging with the XFL would require, at a minimum, cross-border travel, which as the NHL Dubois scenario has shown, can be problematic at best. If a higher-profile league like the NHL couldn't get an exemption for one player, why on Earth would they grant similar exemptions to entire teams? Add to that the risks of a startup, uncertainty surrounding fledgling new partners, and... for whatever reason... joining with XFL owners that have run through any goodwill with players based upon how they closed up shop previously (players left to pay their own way home, players left unpaid, and players abandoned by the league in unknown cities) and I don't really see much upside to that scenario.
  6. It's probably because current league owners wouldn't want to part with their stake in the respective teams. The $20 million the Rock sunk into the XFL may have been for a significant stake in ownership. Higher risk? Certainly, but if the XFL could've gone toe-to-toe with the NFL, even modestly for 2 - 3 years profitably, it'd have been a much bigger payout than anything the CFL could've offered.
  7. In b4 next analyst for them lol
  8. More like Charleston Who?🤔
  9. You mean like, see who throws the most picks, or who has the most fumbles? Maybe the starter will be the one that is best at curling into the fetal position like Evans in the Grey Cup lol.
  10. Personally, I'd like to think the reason the trade came in the 12th hour is because the Bombers pushed hard to keep him. The fact they got anything in return is awesome imo.
  11. More like Chris TURNSTILE am i right?... ... I'll show myself out.
  12. Thing is though, the Stamps would've paid for that indirectly. One of the big draws of the CFL for American players is the exposure and ability to continue to play and develop. Holley's case is the exception, not the rule. Players are under contract, yes, but from a long-term perspective, it benefits the club to allow them to go to greener pastures. You'd be hard pressed to find many - if any, American players that'd prefer playing in the CFL over the NFL. Releasing Muamba to pursue the NFL arguably bit the Bombers - when he returned North, he signed with a different club. However, long-term, it built the goodwill to future American players, showing that if given an NFL opportunity, the Bombers would oblige. I'd argue the Bombers to attract more premium talent in the later years, and some of those players (Marcus Sayles, Winston Rose) have gone on to play in the NFL. Teams that have had disputes - notably the Argos - have struggled bringing in American talent, and the on-field product has shown that. Is it ideal? Certainly not. It is however the reality the CFL faces, dollar for dollar there's no way the CFL could ever compete with NFL contracts. Although contractually players don't have the same rights as coaches, it is somewhat an unwritten rule that, if given an opportunity to play, they expect release from the CFL contract. For most of these players, their longer term goal is to play at the NFL level.
  13. Not only that, that single playoff win was only because they had Barry Sanders fall into their lap who was a generational talent. Imagine what Sanders could've done with any semblance of an offensive line...
  14. He didn't mention CFL 2.0 or the Schooners even once! Really feel COVID helped the CFL dodge a bullet on the latter there. Seriously though, even if the letter is fluff and pomp, the fact it's even being sent out is a good sign.
  15. But she was an astronaut ooOOoooooh. That automatically made her fit for the job despite the various cracks in the facade.
  16. No, regardless of how classless a player is, you don't do something like that. Then you're just wallowing in the muck with them in terms of giving and getting respect. What you do is congratulate his next fumble, drop, missed block or other ineptitude. These are the same guys that planned the Hamilton Grey Cup parade with the whole "best Hamilton team ever/ best offense ever" etc. etc. etc., right?
  17. Oh wait, that was Jonothan Jennings lol. Davis can't even do turnovers for us right.
  18. Not true, he had a pretty nice touchdown pass to Winston Rose last year for the Bombers at home.
  19. Roc Carmichael says hi lol.
  20. These people are insane. Trump is delirious, the fact he incited the protestors shows he is out of touch, or in deep with the wrong people. I think once whisked away from the power of presidency he'll be in jail, dead, or both. He's completely desperate at this point.
  21. I've always viewed the Bryant signing as the inflection point when our offensive line really started to actually become a force. Others have come and gone, but he's been a staple throughout the rebuilding process.
  22. Yeah, I have always found it odd how you can end up with a rather exciting endings in the NFL sometimes, or just QB kneels, especially if the opposition has no timeouts. I also prefer the CFL, I guess a better question is... what would you do to fix it? Here are a couple of thoughts 1. Allow the clock to run in the last 2 minutes, but have it cap out at 20 seconds before the ball is snapped? (This works around the 40-second play clock in the NFL) 2. Shorten the play clock as is done in the CFL to speed up pace and number of plays? 3. Not have the clock run in the final two minutes? ... thoughts?
  23. Having Canadian players play in the CFL is part of what makes the league just that - Canadian. Whilst it definitely increases the rift in talent between the CFL and NFL overall, removing the ratio I think would be detrimental overall to the game, it'd basically just turn the CFL into NCAA North Division... I have no problem with our league paying Canadian players to play a Canadian game. That said though, I will agree that just as there are smug NFL fans that dismiss the CFL, there are similarly smug CFL fans that dismiss the NFL as boring. I don't think either is right personally.
  24. Fun Fact: The first ever touchdown in the first ever Super Bowl was scored by Max McGee when he was ridiculously hungover after a night of gambling and gallivanting, he had himself a day. He wasn't even a starter but had to play because the starter got injured.
