When Calgary played us at home W21, they lost by chasing points. They went 1/2 on 2 point conversion attempts. They ended up losing that game by a single point. They went for two when up 14-10 (who knows why?), and when they were up 26-19 (which made a bit more sense, it was successful and extended their lead to 9 points).

You don't chase points just for the sake of chasing points. Hope EDM wins this game, then Gable runs all over HAM... bit of payback for them for trading him to EDM in 2017 and totally screwing us over when we hosted EDM in the Western Semi-Final...probably won't happen, but hey, it's the CFL.

Devaris Daniels in pre-game interview for the Esks mentioning he's made the Grey Cup every year he's played in the league. This year may be a disappointment for him.

Man, it's insane that facebook's business model works... having users voluntarily give up their personal information, then tailor ads to them and sell it back to them.

If a Bo Levi chokes in an empty stadium, does anyone hear it croak?

2019 CFL Season: Around the League
Eternal optimist replied to Mr Dee's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Sure, but under the same argument, you could use the following argument: 1. The Price is Right is a very successful game show, it has a spinning wheel. 2. The CFL does not have a spinning wheel. 3. The CFL should have a spinning wheel in the championship game to be successful as a league. -
Well Lions, thanks again for nothing... 0-8 against Western opponents this year.

The record for rushing yards in a single season was set by Mike Pringle of th Montreal Alouettes in 1988 (2,065 yards) The record by a Canadian running back was set by Jon Cornish of the Calgary Stampeders in 2013 (1,813 yards) Source: 2017 CFL record book, page 201 (available here: https://www.cfl.ca/2017-cfl-rule-book-facts-figures-records-guide/) CFL has changed since even fivish years ago - we are by far the most run-heavy offense in recent years, the league is much more pass-happy. To-date for 2019, we still only have 2,663 yards collectively as a team (Harris has 1,380 of those yards), both numbers which lead the league by a wide margin. MTL is 2nd in rushing (2,108 yards), Powell is the next back after Harris (1,057 yards) and he's played one more game than Harris due to the suspensions for Harris.

This just insults our intelligence. Preseason is a very necessary evil in football and other pro sports, but changing it's name doesn't do a darn thing, the content fielded will still be below par compared to regular season (as it should guys need to get a start somewhere and preseason is great for that). This is like changing the language in traffic law from red lights to "mandatory resting periods".

Especially with such an outstanding running back in Andrew Harr... err, fullback in Mike Miller, who just received a nod as our Most Outstanding Canadian! https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/winnipeg-blue-bombers-andrew-harris-mike-miller-cfl-award-1.5341326

I think we all have some beef with certain posts. -

Who starts Zac attack vs Strevinator?

This completely derailed the rest of your post. -
So many of those came in garbage time though with the game already out of reach.

Triggered? Triggered.

How the 'Riders had the easiest schedule ever this season. W1 (at HAM) - Spanked accordingly. W2 (at OTT) - Spanked accordingly, lol you lost to OTT? W3 (vs TOR) - Franklin started this game, TOR was awful, bingo space. W4 (vs CGY) - Spanked accordingly, even with Arbuckle at the helm. W5 - BYE W6 (vs BC) - Worst team in the west, by far. W7 (at BC) - You got these idiots THREE times? W8 (vs HAM) - Hey look! You beat HAM in Evans first start at QB for the year. W9 (at MTL) - First ever CFL game called due to weather, who did you bribe for this one? W10 - BYE W11 (vs OTT) - Another middling team, coming off the bye, nice scheduling! W12 (vs WPG) - You play against Streveler in only his 2nd start this year. W13 (at WPG) - Spanked accordingly. W14 (vs MTL) - Narrowly beat an Al's team on a walk-off FG. W15 - BYE W16 (at TOR) - Bingo space, worst team in the league. Also coming off the bye. W17 (vs WPG) - Seriously, why is Rios even starting? W18 (at CGY) - Spanked accordingly. W19 (at BC) - You get BC... without Mike Rielly. W20 (at EDM) - EDM has nothing to play for, you squeak out a win... barely. W21 (at EDM) - EDM will again have nothing to play for.

Troll harder, your green is showing.

Ugh... 'Riders secure home playoff berth, was really hoping they'd blow it.

I'm optimistic.

Guys he was obviously doing that because he was looking for his $5 payday from that end zone. Also, how is that not considered taunting or unsportsmanlike conduct?

Hosting a playoff game is contingent only on CAL losing to BC next week. The two scenarios where we host a playoff game are as such... both (1) and (2) require CAL loses to BC next week AND: 1) SSK does not lose both games to EDM (they get at least 1 point in the standings). We host CAL in WSF, or: 2) SSK loses both against EDM. This would be because when 2+ teams are tied, seeding is based on their win % against all other tied teams. In this scenario all three finish 11-7 and based off win % seeding would be: Team - Record against other teams - Win % CAL 3-2 (1-2 against WPG, 2-0 against SSK) = 0.600 WPG 3-3 (1-2 against SSK, 2-1 against CAL) = 0.500 SSK 2-3 (0-2 against CAL, 2-1 against WPG) = 0.400

These guys were premium players in the twilight of their careers when we signed them though. Management took a chance on them, but all three were nowhere near as good for the Blue and Gold as they once were. Bowman faded away, Dressler made the smart move to hang them up, and Matthews has been mediocre for Montreal since departing earlier this year. Other teams have done the same - best example I can currently think of is Arceneaux for the 'Riders. Fantastic in his prime, but now a shell of his former self.

Man, I can't imagine the rift in the locker room, when you've got QBs making half a million, and some guys sitting next to him making under ~$40,000 CAD. I understand you want to play the sport you love, but that is a pittance considering the toll professional football takes on the human body.
