  1. This game has an eerily similar script to last week... hoping for a different result.
  2. So much this. The fact this thread is even here is a testament to how impatient our own fan base is. We're 2-3 people - one game under .500 - not only that - two of those losses came with our rookie Streveler at the helm, and the home opener against Edmonton was a very winnable game, against Reilly no less.
  3. Obviously Bowman's skills would be better used as a defensive back.
  4. Guess I should clarify - it's not the I think Franklin is a bad QB - just that his inexperience might be beneficial to us. I agree though that we definitely should not underestimate him.
  5. As much as our defense has been a talking point and area of concern - we might be okay here. They've done well against less experienced (or damaged) QBs in Willy and Jennings, but got picked apart against frankly better QBs (Reilly, Lulay and Masoli). If we can keep Franklin off his game, or somehow manage to turn it into an offensive shootout - I think we'll be fine.
  6. 1. Harris only player this year that seems capable of playing 60 minutes of football consistently. 2. Bob Irving - called a great game as always, even though it was a miserable result. 3. Doug Brown - see above. HH - All you Bombers fans that stuck it out to the bitter end to witness a collapse more confusing and chaotic than the 2008 financial crisis.
  7. Sure, it's a team sport. I would lay this loss at the coaches more than the players, and you vice versa. Agree to disagree. On the bright side..... We only play BC twice this year, meaning even with this gut-wrenching loss, we still hold the tie-breaker over them in the divisional standings by virtue of the point differential in those two games.
  8. Expecting every offensive drive to end with a touchdown is unrealistic. People seem to be forgetting that Streveler himself had two offensive turnovers as well - all without even throwing a pass in that game. So by your logic - Streveler didn't complete his assignments either, and therefore is just as culpable.
  9. Absolutely, but that falls on coaching decisions with aggressive play calls, not Nichols.
  10. I think we have to give at least a bit of credit to the BC's D in the second half.
  11. Agreed - I think it's just typical knee-jerk reaction. Thankfully, one game does not make a season. I think the reason Willy got so much slack when he was with us was because there was a much bigger drop-off in the backup QBs, whereas Streveler has shown much more promise - albeit with a much smaller sample size.
  12. There's been plenty of examples of players "playing through pain" - medically cleared by doctors, but still playing through an injury. Most recent memorable example locally was Andrew Ladd playing through a sports hernia during the 2014/2015 Jets season as they pushed (and secured) a playoff spot.
  13. When you're playing with the lead in the 2nd half - how does Harris only get 4 touches? There's aggressive play-calling and then there's playing with fire - they got cocky after the successful onside kick and ran very aggressive tactics that left points on the board.
  14. Are you kidding me - one of those three things happens on every single play! I guess that's why Sunday is considered a day of rest.
  15. I think lots of people underestimate how much space Bowman's presence on the field opens up for our other receivers.
  16. I'm all for big hits... big clean hits.
  17. Next year they should allow kickers to call their banks for double points.
  18. Man, I hope the Eskies eventually get burnt by their undisciplined play.
  19. I don't know about anyone else ... but this player's mic stuff is god-awful on the radio...
  20. Pretty much a nothing play - besides if you get a roughing the kicker call the half wouldn't end.
  21. I'm not a rules guru by any stretch, but if they were to actually do this .... couldn't they just list him on the roster as a punter and have him throw the ball? Isn't that essentially what happens if they call a fake punt on 3rd down with Medlock?
