  1. Hutch would get 20-25 games mostly b2b so if the Jets feel Helle is ready there is no reason to hold on to Pavelic, and there is also Comrie waiting in the wings and if Hutch isn't around there will be free agent goalie's to pick from
  2. Eric Francis from Calgary reported this last week and pretty well said that the Flames were looking for goalie help. I think that the Jets will be shopping Pavs around no way he is here next year as a back up.
  3. I hope we can do better than signing Macho Harris for the secondary.
  4. I think Bettman just signed an extension.
  5. Ladd just bought Chevy, a Chevrolet Corvette that is at Barrett Jackson this afternoon.
  6. There has been chatter that the owner is personally going to get involved in contract negotiations and that a deal will be made, it will be very interesting because Tampa has a lot of RFA's and UFA's coming up in the next few years.
  7. From what i see he is ready to sign a pro contract, is he ready to play in the NHL, that is yet to be determined but he'll probably help the Moose.
  8. I see Florida is saying they have no interest in Ladd maybe the asking price is to high also Eric Francis reported yesterday that Calgary might be in the market for a goalie if only we could reunite Pavs with buddy Frolik.
  9. Wideman has been suspended indefinitely, hearing to held after the all star so the NHL is taking this incident seriously as it should.
  10. Only Wideman know's if he did this on purpose watching the game live it looked like a accident but when you look at it in slow motion after he gets hit he's dazed, gets up on his skates smacks his stick onto the ice goes along the boards hits the linesman with arms extended. Still can't assume he did it on purpose though. As for Wheeler go for him tell the NHL to stick there farce of an allstar game.
  11. By the time this team is ready to seriously contend the core on today's team will be mostly gone, hopefully players drafted and to be drafted will make up a big chunk of the team with some vets to round out a cup contender. This team still has a long way to go but we seem to be set in net for many years with Hellebuyck, a cross my fingers superstar in Ehlers, a solid 1 d man in Trouba and the future team captain Scheifele. If we hit with 3-4 of the drafted players and get a really good top 5 pick this year the worrying about making the playoffs will be a distant memory.
  12. Was a great game to be at playing a team that was already on the all star break, Ehlers is really starting to figure out the game of course playing with Scheifele and Wheelers can't hurt, Helle played well by still lets the puck control him sometimes, Ladd invisible again tonight, and a final note we are still closer to being the worst team in the NHL than a playoff spot and that's sad because we have some real good pieces going forward just not this year.
  13. If he is available and healthy i'd kick the tires on Bakari Grant
  14. Great pick up at what i thought they should pay him
  15. I agree but it's just no the young guys doing it, once you get into the lifestyle it's tough to give it up and they'll doing anything to be there career going even with the health risks as they get older, live for today mentality.
  16. With the salary cap probably staying where it is i can't see Ladd getting 5-6 million based on play this year, the only thing that saves him is if he gets traded to a contender and does light it up in the playoffs.
  17. Gary Lawless is reporting that Ladds agent has broken off contract talks, can we assume that Chevy gave them a take or leave offer and the agent feels that the Jets are moving on . Good luck trying to get a long term contract at 6 mil.
  18. I don't know how much further we will fall as the teams under us are really bad , then again so are we , Will probably finish bottom 5 very easily.
  19. Bet the NFL is glad the Pats are out ,would of been awkward if they would have gone to the SB and won and Goddell would have to hand over the Lombardi trophy to the smug faces of Kraft, Belichick, and Brady.
  20. This team is not ready for the playoffs let alone a long playoff run, Chevy's got some important decisions to make on which way this team goes forward. Does he become a seller at the deadline this team is 9 pts. back and losing ground every week hoping the team drops into a bottom five position, does he give Buff and Ladd contracts that he will regret in a few years if not sooner in Ladds case. It will be a interesting few weeks to see if Chevy trades before or at the deadline, does he risk injuries to expiring contracts and getting nothing or does he make calls and take what he can now. I agree with TUP if Chevy handles this right it could be the best thing that could happen to the Jets long term.
  21. Closer to the bottom than making the playoffs i don't want to be that team that misses the playoffs bye a couple of points i would rather pick top five than 8-11 in the draft. If you can't make the playoffs and this team doesn't look like it will you might as well finish as close to the bottom as possible.
  22. We never had a chance to sign Carter so we really didn't lose out on anything, sign players who want to play here for a while and not want to jump to the NFL after one year.
  23. Hate to say it but every game that Ladd plays he is hurting our return in a trade, from a fans perspective he looks like he checked out a long time ago.
  24. In a lottery system you don't have to be the worst team, bottom 3 is good enough to have a chance
  25. Didn't Bryant just sign an extension recently?
