  3. The other argument would be that it was contacting the helmet, so still a roughing the passer... a very soft roughing the passer, but been called the last couple years either way.
  4. Bonfire Sports... generally some pretty good insights and analysis.
  5. Your kids don't know what they are talking about. I have the S10+ and have considered going to a newer phone, but it's been so good that I see no reason to change. My whole family is on iPhones, but I will never have one for myself.
  6. By the strictest definition of a city (population of at least 50,000 people with a density greater than 1,500 per sq. km), according to the 2021 census there is 1 (Brandon). That being said, we do have pockets of places that have the population density but not the total population: Portage La Prairie Thompson Selkirk Niverville Neepawa Flin Flon Virden No I didn't miss the sarcasm, but the comment piqued my interest, so I looked it up.
  7. The standards of 15 years ago are not the same as they are now. Something that Barker did or said 15 years ago (and I won't claim to know what it was or how it compares to what Marcoux said here), may or may not get him fined now. As society evolves, so does what is seen as acceptable and not acceptable, so it's really hard to put the two situations side by side and say that they are the same and should be treated the same.
  8. When Darian Durant retired from the Bombers before the season started, his bonus money that had been paid counted against the SMS, so a precedent has been set there. There is no way that the Argos should ever be let off the hook for that $300K, but it is the Argos, so you never know what the league will do for them.

  10. Coaching is a ton of fun... I'm coaching U13 girls softball starting tonight... really looking forward to the season kicking off. I did flag football a number of years back, but I was in a bit over my head with that one... still fun though.
  11. Playing devil's advocate a bit here, but how do you know that they haven't tried. For all we know, they could have approached every streaming service there is and begged them to put the CFL on there, but if the streamers have no interest, the CFL can't force it. It's easy to say that they should try things, but when the decision is out of their control, there's no way for any of us to know what has and hasn't been tried, unless you know someone who works at the league and they told you that everyone there is just sitting around twiddling their thumbs.
  12. Not to mention that if there is a 10th team, there are only so many talented Canadians to go around. The talent pool will already be diluted by that, and then to try and add more positions for rookie Canadians, they'd really be scraping the bottom of the barrel to try and fill those spots.
  13. I still don't see where the teams are going to get and extra $250,000 to put towards the salary cap. The fact that its gone up by $50,000 for many years and then $75,000 last year doesn't show any indication that all of a sudden there will be more than $250,000 available per year. Add in the fact that the minimum salaries have been going up chews into what you say "goes to the top end of the player pool". I just don't think the numbers that you think are available exist, nor will they in the foreseeable future. For reference, minimum salaries: 2016 - $52K 2017 - $53K 2018 - $54K 2019 - $65K 2020 - $65K (cancelled season) 2021 - $65K (shortened season) 2022 - $65K 2023 - $70K I don't think the narrative that all of the additional cap space goes to top end players is valid (and no, you're not the only person who's said it does). A big chunk of it goes to minimum salary players and what's left is distributed through the team, but at the end of the day it's still only $75K, which is the equivalent of 1 entry level player.
  14. How much do you think the salary cap goes up by every year? 2015 - $5.05 M 2016 - $5.1 M 2017 - $5.15 M 2018 - $5.2 M 2019 - $5.25 M 2020 - $5.3 M (cancelled season) 2021 - $5.35 M (shortened season) 2022 - $5.35 M 2023 - $5.45 M 2024 - $5.525 M With the cap only going up by $50K to $75K, asking them to use $250,000 would be asking some players to take a pay cut to make it work, and the PA would never advocate for that.
  15. I would think that those were authorized and licensed drones that were flown by licensed pilots.
  16. The real solution is to just not punt... like that game where we scored on 7(?) straight drives.
  17. I think Count Floyd was one of my favorite characters that he played on the old SCTV show.
  18. I'm looking forward to The Fall Guy, that looks like it will be a bunch of mindless fun.
  19. Just started watching Shrinking... really enjoying it so far.
  20. I play Ultimate and coach my daughter's softball team as my main hobbies. I enjoy golfing in the summer and skiing in the winter, but don't get out to do either nearly as much as I would like. I used to curl a lot, but stopped when my daughter was born... I really want to get back into it, but don't know anyone who curls and is looking for an additional player. I'm also a gamer, mostly PC but some Console as well. I'm a aspiring maker/tinkerer. I love woodworking projects and want to get into 3D printing and CNC but I just don't have the space for it yet, but hopefully soon.
  21. People were betting on whether on not Travis Kelce was going to propose to Taylor Swift after the game... people bet on some pretty stupid things.
  22. By most accounts that I've seen, he was a democrat. He was loud and proud about his patriotism, but he was less conservative than most people thought.
  23. Didn't they do that a while back when they killed TSN radio? Do they own anything else in Winnipeg?
