I don't understand? Same way you know about any other untested QB - you scout him. Lapo would know about him. We obviously scouted him, brought him in and kept him. The CFL is full of QBs who have bounced around. -
PoMo did what his bosses didn't have the courage to do.

I don't think one game would dissuade other teams. If one game is the mark, there are several HOF QBs who would not have survived. -

Right but Castillo punts too. Did Liegghio develop into a good punter? I would like to see some of the statistics, comparing him to others. I'm not sure what to do with Liegghio. Do we need to develop a kicker, if we can keep Castillo? -

Anything that goes widely off the mark is a Fajardo. --- But, really, I guess he and McGuire can be included because other teams could try to lure them. -

But, BC took the gamble that Reilly, who was making a big percentage of their salary cap, would stay healthy. We ran with 3 and most teams did. I just wish it was up to the individual teams to make that decision and leave them the ability to dress 3 QBs. Technically, I know they can but it costs them a DI. -

There are other costs beyond just straight payroll. But, I would say it's the commissioners job to to promote and make the game better. They are the advocate for the league and should be able to sway ownership/representatives to help make it better. The PA also wants the game to be better. I don't see how having fewer QBs makes the product better. You can't hide a good, developing QB, on the PR without the risk of him being scooped. -
The Bombers, of course.

I wonder if Orlondo will leave too? And, does Condello take over? -

The B.C. Lions have made big moves along the offensive line, striking deals with five Canadian offensive linemen. David Knevel and Andrew Peirson were re-signed, while Matt Guevremont, Tyler Packer, and Jesse Lawson inked new deals. I will laugh if the Lions have to pay Chungh a premium because he was an All-Star in his next deal. -

I guess it depends how far over the line the Riders are prepared to go. But, $50k would even give you an opportunity to attract a few players by giving them $10k-$15k over what they would get elsewhere. -

Coaching changes. Who will be the new GM in Edmonton. Jones as coach and GM? Does Duane Forde get the GM position in Ottawa? I bet he keeps Lapo, if he does. I think the organization wants that, anyhow. -
2021 Grey Cup GDT - Bombers vs. Tiger-Cats

Somewhere in Winnipeg there is a young stud football player looking at what Harris and Demski have done and have a dream of also leading the Bombers to a Grey Cup. They see how they are celebrated but that they also came back and committed to this franchise. Harris and Demski (and Oliveira next) have not only brought Grey Cups to the fanbase but have also sparked a new generation who will see the benefit of playing here in Winnipeg. They are truly the gift that keeps on giving. -

Which is why I think they restructure. He's not worth it based on production. But, if he takes a haircut, they could add some pieces and still make it work. They're not going to rebuild this offseason, so I think they're stuck with him being their opening day starter. -

Yes, which I why I put that qualifier in there. I think we're the only place he would go, if he needed a home and was made an offer. Basically, take a heavy discount knowing that you have a legit shot at another ring. I don't think he goes anywhere else and would just retire if BC moved on. -

I don't think we can. We can't afford a vet back-up given our salary pressures. I think we just have to rely on being able to get someone in-season, if that happens. -

I thought for a long time that BLM would end up in Toronto. I'm not sure now given that Dickenson didn't make a change when it was clear that BLM could only throw Fajardos during the season. -
I'm sure it's probably nothing, everything will be fine.

QB Carousel this offseason? Who's available (realistically)? Reilly - I'm not sure he's really available. I don't think he leaves BC, unless they decide they really don't want him. I bet they keep him but on a lower salary. I believe he retires unless he gets an opportunity to go to a contender and I don't think the Bombers are interested. BLM - Will his arm really heal? If the Stamps are concerned, I bet they trade him and re-sign Maier. Maier - He's probably in line to start somewhere next year but he better find the right fit. Yukon Cornelius - Depends on who comes in but I doubt he stays in the CFL. Did he show enough? Or did he show too much? Arbuckle - Already extended but a new GM may have another perspective. Could be available to bounce and not start at yet another team. Cody - Bleeds green, which is a huge health issue, BTW. I can't see them paying him $515k when they can get someone for less. Masoli - may stay in Hamilton if Evans leaves. Evans - may stay in Hamilton if Masoli leaves. MBT - I think the Argos look to replace him again this offseason but still keep him around to compete. Duck - I hope the GM is looking to bring someone else in, for their sake. Adams - staying. Harris - will be released. I wonder where he lands. I could see him going to BC, if the opportunity arises or Saskatchewan, if he's willing to start the season as a back-up. Strev - Non-issue, until he's not pursuing the NFL. -
2021 Grey Cup GDT - Bombers vs. Tiger-Cats
JCon replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
33 Teams are ranked. 30. Winnipeg. The CFL Blue Bombers won their second consecutive Grey Cup and 12th in their history last weekend with a 33-25 overtime victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cars. That gave Winnipeg DE Jackson Jeffcoat as many championship rings (2) as his father Jim, who played defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s. Last week: Unranked
