We don't know that they won't give them money. They said last time to come back with a plan. I expect the Feds to find some money for them but they need to have a plan. That should be much easier this year.

It's inevitable, unfortunately.

Manitoba TPR: 4.8% (up .3) Winnipeg TPR: 3.5% I think we can expect it to slowly begin to go up now. More openings mean more cases.

My experience is that most of the young candidates get experience in "unwinnable" ridings but get good jobs with the party. If you're on the winning side, you're likely to become a special assistant to a minister. Some, do that route and get a fantastic seat opportunity. Raquel Dancho - ran for the Provincial PCs in Wolseley in 2016, lost (obviously), became a special assistant in GOM and gained experience in gov't, then won the nomination in the federal riding of Kildonan-St.Paul and won the seat.

You're always in a no win situation when you run a candidate in a place that you know is not going to get you a seat. How much money do you spend on that seat? Often, they'll keep their money in a more competitive riding. My MLA doesn't live in my riding and has never knocked on my door. There is little risk of him losing.

The GTA will decide the next election.

But the XFL is not postponing anything, in reality. They weren't playing until February 2022 anyhow.

He was so, so, good. I remember watching his fights in the 80s. Buffer broke up tonight when the rang the bell for Hagler.

What everyone is forgetting is the timing of these leagues. XFL starts after the super bowl and ends a few weeks later when they run out of money (or spring). It's most likely that they are working on a player sharing agreement and sharing of marketing and development.

I was laughed at when I suggested the Jets could be the best team in the North Division by the end of the season following the PLD trade. 5 of 6 points in Toronto.

Totally. It's just that the Canadian Mafia works through tons of adversity and doubt, wins it all and doesn't get it's victory lap. It's not about the victory lap but they earned it. The earned the right to be smug and reap the benefits.

That calculator is so messed up. At least they've finally updated it a bit but it's not really reflective of anything. My FIL is in his 70s and it says there are less than 50k in front of him. Based on how many doses they're getting, he should be immunized next week but they haven't expanded it at all. Unrelated, I've also learned that receptionists in dentists offices are getting the vaccine now. I'm not sure how a receptionist, who has zero contact with the public (behind shields and whatnot), should be getting the vaccine before seniors get it. Totally messed up.

It's shame that the Bombers lost all that momentum from winning the Grey Cup. We were looking and big bump in attendance and earnings and now the CFL is hoping The Rock can save the league.

The CFL is accessible. I can go buy a car from Harris or get financial advice from Bighill. My son could throw the ball with Nichols. I can see Bryant at Costco. I can get a job with Millers help. I love Shawarma Khan's. I get that some of this won't change. The economics of the league will mean that the players will need to maintain other jobs, other businesses, etc. But, the fact that Harris was Pirate and Demksi was a Raider (🤢) means something to me. I love when we sign locals. I hope it means something to my kids.

I hope the Sharks don't get out from under that terrible contract. They deserve it. I hope they don't get cap relief either.
-
Except no court would allow that. As it stands, the creditors probably have first access to his contract. Unless they've worked out some deal, he won't be able to avoid repaying his creditors by declaring bankruptcy and then re-signing. I don't know how bankruptcies work in the US. In Canada, you wouldn't be allowed to do that.
-
We used to have bigger balls too.
-
I assume that there would be some sort of buyout?
-
I'm all for a partnership that creates more opportunities for the players. If nothing else, the leagues should find a way to let them play on both sides of the border each year. There's risks, for sure.
-
Let's explore. If it's 4 downs, what changes? Certainly the style of the game and how teams mix up their plays would change.
-
Okay, if I'm taking Randy at his word, which is hard, it sounds like they're simply looking for synergies on how the leagues can work together. But, geez, they're terrible at communication. Like world-class, really bad.

The XFL is league that has played fewer games EVER than the CFL played in 2019. What's the plan for 2021, CFL?

The white-hoods have mostly gone to their alt-right forums now.
