My oldest was set to play flag football in spring, youngest soccer. Both were expected to play basketball this fall along with indoor soccer (or something else). I bought a basketball net for them this year, which got good use. And, when the snow flies, I'll make them shovel and tell them it's training for something.

I'm getting apprehensive about sending them, balancing the need for physical activity and socialization with the risk of exposure. They've been doing dance for the past month and I'm very pleased with the precautions that have been implemented from their arrival to their departure. But, I could see them moving to online classes very soon.

They're going to confirm someone with very little experience, who refuses to answer the simplest questions about law to a lifetime appointment position? When the GOP is decimated next month, they'll deserve it. And when the Dems expand the court because it's so overwhelmingly representative of the alt-right, Republicans will deserve that too. This is a "democracy" that actively tries to get as few people to vote as possible, where hours long lines to vote are common place, where the president encourages his armed supporters to "monitor" the elections and for racist terrorist cells to "stand by" for when he loses.

It's been the same at all the schools which had cases and the cohorts are sent home. The challenge we're (my fam) going to have is that if one of child's cohorts gets shut, they come home and do remote learning for a couple of weeks - not great but not the worst - BUT my other child won't get remote learning because they can still go to class.

The daycare at our school had a positive test. The daycare is divided into three cohorts - infants, pre-school, and school age. The pre-school portion was closed because they had the positive test. The sibling of one of the pre-schoolers, who was a close contact, had to get tested but their older sibling, school age, did not and continues to go to school while waiting for test results.
