3 years? Whoa. Good for him and good business for the Argos. He's a good QB, who makes smart decisions and should help.

Byfuglien contemplating NHL future

Okay, but so what? If he's just retiring, who cares who owns his rights? -
Yes, he's unpopular but it's Kentucky. They'll hold their nose and vote GOP, like many did with Trump. They don't like him but he's no Democrat! It would be better if they could control all three levels of Government. I would like to believe that they would be able to reverse a lot of the horrible things Trump has done for the economy (tax cuts that do nothing but put money in the uber-rich's pockets), cuts to health care, the attacks on the public education system, and the cuts to entitlements. Of course, they'll just fight among themselves and get little done. The economy is already slowing down and the gains that happened during the Obama administration will be reversed very soon. They'll be digging themselves out of the Trump hole for decades. Of course, he's fleeced them good. Saved his companies, for sure.

I suppose if you like Grey Cups and rings, sure. I'm just not into flashy things.

Some figures.... There are 35 seats up for re-election in 2020. Currently, they are split 12 for Democrats and 23 for Republicans. To gain control of the Senate, the Democrats will need to win 17 of the 35 up, taking 5 from the Republicans. This would give them a 51-49 majority. In case of a tie in a vote, the VP casts the deciding vote. There are currently four seats that are considered a toss-up in this election, in Maine, North Carolina, Arizona and Colorado. 1 is a Democrat seat and 3 are Republican. There are an additional 4 Republican seats that are leaning Republican but are not safe and 1 Democrat seat that's leaning Democrat but isn't safe. It won't be easy to flip the Senate but now's the time.

Perhaps there are still hurt feelings over how he was low-balled last year.

It's the Blue Bomber Babysitting Club! If only this was in place when Chris Matthews was here, we might have seen more production. (I kid)

Just a reminder that Cocaine Mitch is holding up the legislation in the Senate. So, it's the just the GOP doing nothing.

So, I don't know the ins-and-outs of the CBA and whatnot but why can't he just retire, if that's what he wants? Based on Wheeler's comments, it sounds like he's not interested in playing any longer. So, why the need for the mutual contract termination? If he just retires, won't that have the same effect? -
Narrator: Trump is the swamp.

I wonder if this helped close the deal? Would you be willing to babysit for the Jefferson's too? I assume it's all pro bono?

He knew enough to call out the BS of Hamilton, Bauming and Wyman when they circle-jerked the MOP nomination.

He gets lots of money from the Russian's. Even helped them get set up in Kentucky. The GOP is corrupt. Full of racist criminals.

Not a single person thinks Streveler is going to the NFL to be a QB. Everyone believes he's going to be used as some sort of hybrid. I'm thankful Collaros turned down all those NFL offers to stay in Winnipeg. But let's continue to look at one play to determine who's a better QB.

Someone must think we're as dumb as the Trump supporters.

JFG, really? Didn't see that coming.

Agreed. Rush is horrible human being. Who calls a thirteen year old girl a dog? Rush does.

I have not listened to this yet, so I offer this with no commentary other than Canadaland puts out quality podcasts: ABOUT THE SHOW Rethinking Canada. With DYNASTIES, COMMONS is focusing on the powerful families that run this country. Hosted by Arshy Mann. DYNASTIES #9- The Harts The Harts are Canada’s first family of professional wrestling and one of the most famous dynasties the country has ever produced. And sure, wrestling is scripted. But what happens when reality begins to invade that fiction? The story of the Harts is one of triumph and tragedy that transcends the world of pro wrestling. https://www.canadalandshow.com/shows/commons/

If you have not watched the Nova episode Black Hole Apocalypse, I highly, highly, recommend it. Black holes are the most enigmatic and exotic objects in the universe. They’re also the most powerful, with gravity so strong it can trap light. And they’re destructive, swallowing entire planets, even giant stars. Anything that falls into them vanishes…gone forever. Now, astrophysicists are realizing that black holes may be essential to how our universe evolved—their influence possibly leading to life on Earth and, ultimately, us. In this two-hour special, astrophysicist and author Janna Levin takes viewers on a journey to the frontiers of black hole science. Along the way, we meet leading astronomers and physicists on the verge of finding new answers to provocative questions about these shadowy monsters: Where do they come from? What’s inside? What happens if you fall into one? And what can they tell us about the nature of space, time, and gravity? (Premiered January 10, 2018) It's available on Netflix and Kanopy (from the library). There are other great shows including one on Saturn following Cassini and the one on Pluto following New Horizons. All have exceptional storytelling and explain the science in a very accessible way.
