There's a good reason that this board (in general) was quite content to let Loffler walk for the money he was supposedly seeking. Yes, was an All Star but most recognized the weaknesses in his game. Further, a lot of knowledgeable posters, including Booch, pointed out how easily he could be replaced and that the safety position was not that critical. In the case of Hurl, he played in a key position. The quarterback of the defense and he lacked the ability to make plays. That was far more worrisome for good reason.

They're still replaying the WSF in their heads with Collaros starting instead of Bridge and convinced it would have made a difference.

The Riders sell a ton of merchandise or at least they did until the past few years. It's gone really quiet on their sales recently. I wonder why? Anyhow, I hate the idea of salary cap on management and coaching but do understand why they think it's necessary. Also understood why the Riders pushed for it. It was a league decision and certainly doesn't benefit the Bombers as we'll have trouble retaining our great coaching staff and management in the future.

Everyone seems to be giving the Riders the benefit of the doubt. Sure Collaros was absolute garbage last year, continuing his downward spiral to sub-mediocrity, but... Sure Jones was the linchpin that kept their defense organized but... Sure their offense looked like hot garbage but... Sure their best receivers left but... Sure their best two defensive players left but they picked up a couple of old guys, so... Sure they dumped a very good positional punter but picked up an old NFL punter, so... Sure their offensive line was old and tired last year and now they're older and broken but... But nothing. So what. They're going to be really bad this year. Hamilton by 20 points.

Makes this game a whole lot more interesting. You'll see the build up and get some Winnipeg time on the show. Fun.

I actually believe the Montreal/Edmonton game is a bit of a toss up. Montreal has a sneaky good D and Pipkin can make plays. If it's close late, I could the Als stealing one. But, I picked Edmonton.
