  2. You think so? I wonder if they bring in a new GM and Coach, if that will be enough to keep him?
  3. No. He signs or sits.
  4. Is it Friday yet?!
  5. Forward this to the Jets - stat.
  6. Nichols threw for 390 yards and no picks against the Lions, in the 2016 WSF. I know NS is just trolling but the narrative that Nichols can't win big games is silly. The defense folded when they needed them. As usual, with the anti-Nichols crowd, they want him to win the games by himself but will only give credit for team wins. They want him to throw over 300 yards and be a difference maker but don't want him making mistakes. Of course, when he does that, it doesn't matter because "he's a game manager and can't win big games." Doesn't matter what Nichols does or doesn't do. They will blame him for losses and praise the "team" for wins. There's even a narrative now, that the team would be better if Streveler played a whole year. (Ignoring the fact that we would be nowhere near the playoffs)
  7. They're not ashamed to come out anymore.
  8. I've been hearing it elsewhere. Speedflex confirmed in another thread somewhere... I'll go look for it.
  9. Before this summer, I was downtown every day of the week and weekend. Still spend every Saturday down there. I know that when the Jazz festival is on, there are lots people around the Exchange. During the Fringe Festival, there are lots of people walking around downtown. I know that when I go to RMTC with my seasons tickets, there are lots of people in the Exchange. I know that Jets games are busy. I know that concerts are busy. I know that Moose games are less busy. I know when I go to the Concert Hall, there are lots of people downtown. I know there are lots of people downtown during ManyFest. During Nuit Blanche and Culture Days. I know the Forks is busy, especially during their many festivals and concerts. I know that the Millennium Library is busy during the week and on weekends. I'm sure there are many other examples but those are what I can think of off the top of my head. And, all this happens, despite the downtown being dead. 😉 Imagine what it will be like when even more people live down there.
  10. Do you even read what you write?
  11. How is it closed minded? Are you assuming that all QBs improve simply by playing? Manziel hasn't. Streveler needs time to develop and learn. That comes with practice and get opportunities to play, just like they're doing.
  12. I guess you truly don't spend much time downtown.
  13. That's insane. Streveler has been fine but, under extended opportunities, his inexperience has been shown.
  14. Really, Nichols has been worse than Manziel, Collaros, Jennings, Bethel-Thompson, etc?
  15. Downtown is not dead, only that corner. Only people who don't spend time downtown think it's dead. It's alive and vibrant.
  16. The inches we need are everywhere...
  17. No, it was 54 seconds to the commute through. And, that was measured BEFORE the city implemented the new traffic system, which has greatly improved traffic flow through all major areas. If you don't have accessibility issues, I suppose you can always go around. I always did but I don't have accessibility issues. And, as commented many times here, going down below, for people that feel vulnerable, is quite daunting. It can be physically intimidating. People wanted it open, not only for the accessibility, but to improve the vitality to the corner. It's dead, all four seasons of year because no one can move out there. A pedestrian overpass is completely unreasonable. The costs would be astronomical, especially when there is already a concourse below. I would rather we put money into improving the concourse, including accessibility, signage and lighting.
  18. I hope that they're able to use P&M reconstruction and refurbishments to encourage investment at the street level and improve the infrastructure below the surface. They need to improve the concourse, making it more accessible for everyone and improve signage. You can still get people at P&M, street level, without the crosswalk. I miss working downtown at P&M.
  19. The P&M discussion was done as soon as it went to a plebiscite. This city never votes for something, always against. Screw the people that actually use the intersection, it may add 54 secs, at peak times to someone's commute. Or is that 15 minutes?
  20. Is quick to insult Bowman but doesn't offer alternate solutions. Could have run against Bowman but chose not to because he was worried about his precious seat. Browarty comments on the costs to train city staff on reconciliation, being forced to resign from the Winnipeg Police Board. Votes against increases funding to public works projects, like Tache Promenade, but acts shocked when funding for his own areas projects are rejected (Kilcona Park).
  21. There's no way Bowarty would have won. He has no ideas and contributes nothing. Same as Jenny. No one was beating Bowman. Despite the hatred of few on here, the city has been improving and people see that.
  22. Bowarty is coward. Is and always has been. Nothing to do with P&M.
  23. That's what I'm thinking. We should vote on fixing streets. We'll go street by street. Hope that those unaffected by P&M but voted "No" anyhow have their streets fall apart.
  24. My inlaws voted "No". I asked them why. They said that they were worried about traffic. They don't drive downtown. Then they said it was a waste of money. Money that the city is going to need to spend anyhow. They didn't know about that because they didn't read anything about the issue. Have been retired for 25 years. Congratulations Winnipeg. I blame Bowman for bowing to that coward Bowarty. He could have done this without the plebiscite but can't now.
  25. The repairs will happen. They are completely necessary. A engineering report will be complete next year, and I'm sure the repairs above and below ground will start afterwards. The barriers are coming down but there will not be a crosswalk.
