  1. The House of Representatives is the lower house and the Senate is the upper house of the legislature. The Speaker (Ryan) is second in line, behind the VP, for President.
  2. McConnell is the senate majority leader. He was elected to this position by his fellow Republican senators, the caucuses. Ryan is Congressman.
  3. Yeah, it's almost like climate and temperature are different things.
  4. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that oil companies reap huge benefits without helping with the long-term environmental costs. That is a failure of leadership on our politicians. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we're going to continue to extract bitumen from ground and transport it across our country. We should be encouraging the safest way to do that.
  5. This is the time in the off-season where everyone is a scout and everyone can evaluate a player based on a 5 minute Youtube video and based upon their weight and height.
  6. Moving rail lines around cities help with human safety but does little to help the environmental impact. Also, it's costly and that cost is borne by the public. Pipelines are more environmentally friendly, can be removed when they no longer serve a purpose, do not have huge need for alternate infrastructure and are largely paid for by investors.
  7. Kinder Morgan, like all pipelines, is designed to move oil from point A to point B the safest and quickest way possible. It's far more environmentally friendly than transporting it by rail. There is still a large market for oil. We still need. Why not sell what we have? The other energy sources, like wind and solar, are catching up and the market demand will shift. But not yet.
  8. I don't think you should speculate on what the driver was thinking at the moment and to suggest that this professional driver "forgot" he was driving a long combination vehicle is irresponsible. When the investigators have filed their report, we'll know a lot more.
  9. Aw, he'd already picked out a traditional Beefeater costume to wear to the event.
  10. That's the temperature. I thought we this topic was about climate?
  11. Yeah, they were expected to focus on such narrow corruption but now all this other corruption is getting in the way. But seriously, this is why Mueller handed it off to others at the FBI. It's not part of his investigation but he's passing other forms of corruption off. You would prefer that it's not investigated?
  12. Hahahahahahahaha!!!! Hilarious.
  13. How could anyone this incompetent collude with anyone else to pull off anything? Obviously, the quality of people that Trump surrounds himself with should exonerate him. They can't even get the simple stuff right.
  14. And? Talk to the NHL. They sold the rights to them. Again, no one is getting screwed.
  15. I'm thrilled. I have an eight year-old at home and was not looking forward to having him up late multiple times per week. The East is the biggest market and it makes sense cater to them. Also means that the late games start at 9pm, which is also great. It just makes sense all around (and benefits me). So, win-win.
  16. I can't see him getting in right now but it's good to know we're getting healthier in case we need the depth.
  17. Tickets on sale tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 10am, if you're hoping to get one or two.
  18. Inevitable but good move.
  19. Technically, Sportsnet owns the rights and only cut a deal with CBC to help distribute the product. They've put the Jets on their network. We're top shelf.
  20. Same broadcaster though. It's not like CBC produces their own product. There is no screwing over. But I hate what Sportsnet produces.
  21. True but it would appear as though they're putting into place key people on defence that will turn this around with a transition plan. I may be reading too much into the moves they've made but it looks like they're moving in a new direction and allowing Hall to exit gracefully. I expect (hope?) a big turnaround on defence this year.
  22. This will surely end well for Hannity.
  23. I don't think we improved as much this offseason as we did last but I didn't think we needed to. I think we need to fix a few holes and maintain what we have. We're close and I hope we keep our leadership team together.
  24. They own lots of non-family content but they do sanitize lots of what they buy.
  25. They did try but looks like they're building their own. Disney might buy Sky News, which could eat up their capital.
