  1. For sure he is. He's not taking key face-offs or playing top minutes. I hope they can get him some rest and let him heal.
  2. I'm pretty sure his wife does not have any spending authority.
  3. I am not critical of Harper's deficit spending because I think, during the certain times, it helps the economy. I am very critical of the need to deficit spend right now. I was and remain critical of them cutting the GST. I get that they ran on it but they shouldn't have. They should have said, we some of us believe, that consumption taxes are better than income taxes, and we'll cut income taxes enough to save you on your consumption tax. The idea of belonging to any party kind of makes me ill. They change so much and are too big to represent anyone. I'm not a Liberal, as I find that they go way off spending on whatever they feel like, following crazy ideas that plays well to the base (long gun registry). Sometimes, they have good ideas but mostly they just want spend their through their mandate. I'm not an lefty (NDP, Liberal, Green, communist) because they're prepared to do and spend whatever they can in order put everyone into their box. Heal everyone, fix everything with money. Social engineering. It doesn't work and makes for a crappy world. I'm not a Conservative, as I don't like their social policies. I don't want the gov't being the gatekeeper to issues like gay marriage and marijuana legalization. I want a small gov't, that spends on healthcare, infrastructure and education. Balance the books, make it as easy as possible to create wealthy citizens and prepare the next gen for the future. I'm usually disappointed with most gov'ts.
  4. Aren't dem fields still too wet? Heck, the honey wagon can't even empty the toilet yet, as it's still frozen over.
  5. I don't have problems with Harper's deficits. At the time, I felt that they were necessary. I don't think deficit spending today is necessary. I have a problem with the idea that conservative government's are anti-deficit, when the evidence shows they are not. I think conservatives (not conservative gov'ts) are anti-deficit. My beefs with Harper were primarily how he operated and his decision around taxes. I never felt boutique tax credits were the way to go and didn't understand the need to cut the progressive consumption tax (GST). I would have preferred to see income tax lowered and the basic personal exemption raised.
  6. Again, tiresome, but always someone else's fault. Harper made his own decisions.
  7. They were mostly confused why someone would want a combine in the spring, before the snow even melted.
  8. Which, of course, if you understand government budgeting and the full context of the quote, then you would understand this to be exactly what Harper preached during the recession. Stimulus spending will increase revenue and increased revenue will balance the budget.
  9. Mulroney took a 37B deficit and turned it into a.... 39B deficit over 8 years. Again, it's always someone else's fault.
  10. Yeah, it's always someone else's fault. Harper was handed a surplus but turned it into a deficit. Mulroney did nothing to pull them out of it. Conservative governments love deficits because they can blame everything on the previous government.
  11. Mulroney ran 8 straight deficits.
  12. Recent evidence: Harper had a surplus when he came into office. Then, Harper ran 6 straight deficits.
  13. Evidence. Endless, endless evidence.
  14. Enormous deficits are a conservative thing.
  15. The New Jets have played one playoff series and we're still feeling the effects of the rivalry that was created. There is still heat between the Jets and Ducks. Rivalries are overrated. But, I agree, karma is not a real thing.
  16. I would still keep the East-West divisions. 1-8, 1-8. It would suck for say Tampa Bay to get first overall and have to travel to Vancouver, a 16 seed. Then the might play Pittsburgh who played against New York or Buffalo in the first round. West teams have enough travel already.
  17. Hot take. That could mean only one Pacific team left in the playoffs after round 1. I would like to see the NHL move to a 1 to 8 seeding system, with reseeding after the first round.
  18. Or, everyone is remembering the good'ol days and hoping that they carry on. Calvillo gets a mulligan for his coaching in Montreal. Let's see what he does in Toronto.
  19. Yes, they do. Enstrom is better statistically (Corsi and Fenwick) than Chiarot is this year. https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/e/enstrto01.html https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/c/chiarbe01.html
  20. Yes, but the analytics still say he's better.
  21. Interesting, because statistically, Enstrom is a better dman and the Jets are better with him in the line-up.
  22. Evander Kane with a hat-trick tonight against the Flames because of course he did.
  23. Did they calls those goalies up from the 80s? That was a real retro 1st period.
  24. Yes, mine too!! I can't wait.
  25. Interesting. They went all out spending big in advertising. I wondered what their cash flow was like and if they would ever make money.
