  1. They still have Ryan's contract anchoring them down. Then, they're going to have to unload Karlsson at a reduced price. Although, getting rid of Phaneuf is a good move at any price. Quebec City is going to inherit a mess of a franchise.
  2. There used to be a working farm in Kingston, where inmates worked that were nearing the end of their sentences or were lifers that prison felt were of low risk. You could drive down the street and there they were, working the fields, within city limits. They stayed in housing right on the farm and I don't believe the doors were locked from the outside. I remember onetime, an inmate walked across the street and did some shopping at the local Food Basics. Cops were called and he was escorted back. He had a shopping list. I think he was nearing the end of his sentence for manslaughter. Too bad government shut those prisons down. Seemed like a good way to help prisoners transition back into society and to also be productive. EDIT: Collins Bay formerly "Frontenac" Institution. Looks like they may be reopening it.
  3. I don't like that at all. Ryan needs to stay in Ottawa as a reminder of what a dumpster fire they are. 4 seasons left on that monstrosity of a contract. And, with only two seasons left on the Ryan contract, a reminder for Quebecor of what they've inherited in their newly acquired, Quebec Nordiques franchise. Karlsson is one of the best defensemen in the league and the best when healthy. When healthy. Every team would be lucky to have him. But his health? What's left in his ankle? I would be scared to death to offer him a longterm contract. I suppose there is always LTIR.
  4. That being said, if anyone has a pair of tickets to the Sunday combine that cannot attend, please consider sharing them with someone who can.
  5. Hutch asked to be traded but I wouldn't if I were Chevy.
  6. Doesn't make sense for CBJ to trade him. They're adding now for the playoffs. They need depth, unless he's a problem, like Kane was in Winnipeg. Not to say the issues are the same, just that he's a problem in current situation.
  7. UFA. Wants to play to earn another contract. Legal issues are what they are. I would rather someone with term, though.
  8. Lines up with Manitoba 150 but it's the first I've heard of anything. Seems too soon with Saskatchewan still in the queue.
  9. Works well enough to secure contracts with TSN.
  10. n = 1 Tell me more about about your friend, who represent the entire East Coast market.
  11. Antipin has not been on my radar. Left handed dman. First year in the league. Played for PoMo in the KHL.
  12. Samberg? Comrie? Poolman? I agree with your list.
  13. Have you been watching the CFL demographics? I think it's mostly 40's and up now. You can't just show up one day and expect the youth to come out. Set up a team and draw them in, like Ottawa. What did the crowd in Calgary look like? How about Winnipeg?
  14. Provided Castillo is healthy, I'm sure he will.
  15. I'm guessing too. Tough to keep Helle out after a shutout but he needs to pace himself.
  16. I get the North Stars reference! We need to keep the momentum going. Hutch starts?
  17. Um, okay... I just couldn't figure out the connect between Satchmo, a New Orleans raised boy, who moved to Chicago and New York had to do with the St Louis. He certainly did sing some blues. Though, considering the Louis Armstrong airport is in New Orleans....
  18. Correct and he went to Chicago when he grew up.
  19. Get your tickets for the Combine now. Sunday is already sold out. Hopefully the fan fest stuff is good.
  20. Why is St Louis referred to as Louis Armstrong? Good game for the Jets. Hard fought road win. St Louis is in danger of not making the playoffs if they can't turn this around. Yeo is going to scream, yell and throw sticks at practice, no doubt.
  21. Something's fishy here... VGK was worried that Brassard was going to WPG? So worried that they took on Brassard's salary? I bet there's some kickback going on for the Flower deal.
  22. The only thing that worked for me and my family's schedule was the Sunday event and it's "sold out". My son will be very disappointed.
  23. He really likes to take his time... I remember the tour, when he returned from the NFL, it seemed to take an extra week, probably costing him a week's pay. No rush now, of course, unless you're worried about running out of options.

  25. I wonder how long they would drag it out? I wonder if gun manufacturers see that they risk everything by pushing for little regulation. A measured approach, where they "lead" legislators to restricting some forms of high capacity weapons, buying public support, may result in them maintaining support.
