It's the type of thing that once you get a champion, the rest starts to come together. Now that the CFL is publically pursuing expansion to the East Coast, all the quiet work that people have been doing out there will come together. I'm sure the city will come on board, once a plan is in place and there is private money attached, just like he suggests.

I love Neufeld as our 6th OL. Great on rotation, NI, leader, teacher (by all accounts), and can play in a lot of different positions. We were lucky to have such a healthy OL for most of the season but we had Neufeld to step in when needed. I love both of these signings but still hope we can re-sign Bond. If nothing else, we have trade bait to add elsewhere.

If they had bought the Coyotes and flipped it someone else for $1 Billion would they still be idiots? If I sold my house and bought lottery tickets with the proceeds and won Lotto Max, would I still be an idiot? There are lots of differences between owning and operating CFL and NHL franchises but losing money, is losing money and Ice Edge lost lots of money. The ROI on the Coyotes has never been good and thinking that you're smarter than anyone else that's tried to make the desert work is foolish. Even the owners of the Atlanta Threashers, which had carte blanche to sell to someone who was going to relocate the franchise, only made $110 Million off the sale. So, if you think Ice Edge was ever going to get $500 Million out of the Coyotes, you don't understand business. So no, I don't want a group that relies heavily on 3rd party financing to own and operate an expansion team in the Atlantic Provinces. There must be better opportunities for the CFL.

I don't know, on the West Side it was 20 degrees and sunny the whole game. The big screen TVs they put in everywhere were awesome and the personal attendants were quick with whatever libations were needed. Never a line for anything. I guess the only conclusion is that East Side sucks. But don't take it from, just ask anyone else on the West Side.

RE: Feoli-Gudino I don't see him coming back. I believe they'll move on with what they have already and scout other NI wide receivers.
-
Agreed. The CFL made a change to the challenge system in-year, IMO, to mask the problem of poor reffing and not necessarily to improve the game.
-
I think one thing we need to change going forward is leaving Lefevour (or whoever our short-yardage QB is next year) in after getting a short-yardage first down. It worked a few times early on because they stretched the field, forcing the short-yardage defensive players into unfamiliar (or uncomfortable) defensive coverages. Later the Bombers, instead of capitalizing on the mismatch, seem to run the ball right into the opponents best run stoppers. That would put Nichols into a second and long situation too often. It also seemed to happen frequently in the red zone, giving the offence only one shot to make a first down or go for the end zone. But I'm happy Lapo will be back.

Bass was a free agent. He left to make more money in Ottawa. Ottawa cut him. How did Bass "take the fall"?
-
East Side? West Side had the standalone beer vendors open and I believe the TVs were on too.

Hahaha. Most Offensive Points: Bombers 2nd. You score the second most points on offence (first overall) and I would say he was doing something right. I wonder if we looked at the defence to see where we finished- oh... 7th on offensive points allowed. Maybe, that's a clue?

If a DC candidate is worried about what the offence and special teams are doing, I would look elsewhere.
-
Bombers have a process. I expect them to follow it and release Hall after all the end-of-season meetings are done.
-
I interpreted your comment that you were not satisfied with the progress, so you wanted changes at the top. That means blowing everything up. On another note, I'm amazed at how a little respect Lapo gets as an OC around here and yet, how many people think he's in line for a HC gig. I realize it's not always the same people but often it is.
-
Better to blow it all up that's worked so well in the past.

Is this where I ***** about the god-awful reffing? All season, both sides of the football and all teams were affected. The CFL needs to invest money in the reffing. The second half of that game was horrible. MOS had to waste his only challenge on the clear headshot, roughing the passer, that was clear as day from the second deck. No ability to challenge the PI in the end zone on Dressler. <---I thought this was PI but didn't see a replay. Happened right underneath me. How many Eskimos were offside on that one play in the 3rd quarter and the refs let it happen? The Esks O-line held the Bombers like they were lovers. Seriously kids, find someone who holds you the way they did and you'll never be lonely. I'm sure it happened on the other side too, I just wasn't noticing it.

I believed until the final whistle blew. Championships can be finicky. The best team does not always win. As long as the Bombers field a competitive team, I am happy. Well, not happy, just less miserable.

Franklin threw the ball 19 times this year and 24 last year. So, basically two full seasons without getting any playing experience. I wouldn't be too confident in him. Glenn and Bridge are mediocre QBs. I'll take Nichols and whoever over them.
-
In the regular season. You win one game now and you're in the Grey Cup. Timing is everything.
-
So, the record matters when you say it does. Gotcha. MOS had the second best record in the league and beat the Maas twice. He's ahead of him. And, although I think Trestman deserves lots of credit, he won the East. Whoop-dee-doo. Still the fifth best team in the league.
-
So, he has the second best record but isn't in the top 3? I wonder what it would take for him to get to the top 3? Coaching another team, probably.
-
MOS MOS won the season series against the Esks and Riders. Lost it by 2 points against Cal. Dickenson is praised for having a worse record than last year but MOS "added 1 win" so gets knocked. Typical.

Blue Bombers and 680 CJOB Announce Partnership Extension
JCon replied to TrueBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The only time I listen to OB is during the pre and post game. Now, I flip back and forth between OB and 1290. OB is such a terrible radio station that is quickly fading into obscurity. I'm happy that Bob will be around a bit longer but fear his replacement. I'm happy the Bombers are good now so that he doesn't have to put up with a mediocre team and mediocre callers. Well, he still has mediocre callers but fewer. I like Brown. Arrogant but generally on point. I can't stand Bauming. I'm sure he's a nice guy but I always feel like he's trying to sell me something. I find approach off-putting. I don't find him particularly insightful either. I can't listen to CFL:60. I've tried but he's just terrible. I have no love for Westwood on the radio. I like him, just not his "analysis". The only insightful comments he has are around the feel in the locker room. I struggle to listen to the AM show and generally just listen to podcasts on my drive to work or CBC. Love the big guy. Walby makes the 1290 pre and post game. -
It's the playoffs and it's easier to watch an NFL game?

You can watch every NFL game without buying a larger package? -
Despite all the poor work Walters did to bring in players and terrible drafting... Despite O'Shea's insistence on disrespecting the league with his attire... Despite Lapolice efforts to hold back all the skilled players on this team... Despite Hall's scheming the bend AND break defence... Despite Nichols inability to stretch the field... Despite Hurl's inability to tackle... Despite our receiving corps being only slightly more skilled than high school football team... Despite our defensive line being unable to get to the QB or stop the run... Despite Medlock shanking every punt and missing every second field goal... Despite all of this ineptitude... The other CFL teams allowed the Bombers to have 12 wins this season. Incredible generosity.
