  1. That won't work. According Walters' they're not deciding who they'll pick until the day of. Are you going to try to negotiate a contract right before the draft, then work your way down the list until you get someone to sign?
  2. And the Province has guaranteed the loan to Triple B up to $35.3M.
  3. Batting comes when you get into your rhythm. They'll start hitting, I'm sure of it.
  4. 86 seemed worse to me too. Likely because, the snow stayed around in 86 and all the winter snow had melted in 97. And, I was much smaller in 86. The plowed snow seemed like mountains and the hills at the school were incredible.
  5. Hometown boy. PoMo loves Columbus. Maybe, he gets some time in the top six.
  6. I like this one. I'm away for two weeks each summer and invariably miss one home game a year. My buddies, who watch football, all have season tickets, so they don't need more. I never sell them but sometimes give them to friends of friends. I will use the tax receipt option this year, unless I find someone who would really like them who can't normally get to games.
  7. He's paid to provide an opinion and, often, a contrarian opinion. When he was with the Freep, he used to say he was a columnist and it was his job to stir the pot. It's still his job to stir the pot and he's pretty good at it.
  8. It's twofold. First, you're correct, he states that True North is planning on extending him. That's the intel he has and I have no reason to doubt that. Also, there's no reason to go off on Lawless about what TN is doing. He's just reporting/interpreting what he's hearing. Second, he has been defending PoMo a lot. He often quotes sources, other NHL insiders, who think the job PoMo has been doing is good. He also goes on about how it's on the players, and they're young, and the goal situation. And, on, and on. He has questioned PoMo on some of the people he starts and the players on the PP but he backs off pretty quickly. Most recently, the idea that Thorburn shouldn't be dressing but then quickly backing off.
  9. I bet. Please provide said sources. Peer reviewed, would be best. Thanks.
  10. Around here, that means he should have been starting top pairing the next year. Because, as we know, Stanley is a bust, like Morrissey was a bad pick.
  11. He's kissing up to Ovi. He should be kissing up to the fans, as all the players and owners should. He's not kissing up to players. I doubt the Ovi's teammates will be pleased to see him go for a long stretch, while they're fighting for playoff position next year. Also, there are a few players that would also like to be going, I'm sure. We may have seen the end of Ovi in the NHL, if they suspend him for more than a few games (after he gets back).
  12. The Bombers don't own the stadium, Triple B does. They have an Stadium Management Agreement with Triple B. Triple B makes the payments against the capital loan.
  13. It's going to be a real test of Walters (and staff) to appropriately evaluate Gray's chances in the NFL. And that, I'm guessing, is a bit like rolling the dice. I agree on some accounts, that this is a 'freebie' pick for Bombers and they can use it to help the club down the road but they could also land two starters in the first round. Or, at least, two players who would be on the opening day roster.
  14. The infrastructure to get in and out of downtown is very different. It's the centre of the city and, daily, hosts far, far more people. Transit is designed around getting into and out of downtown. The university also has significant infrastructure but nowhere near the scale of downtown. Transit goes in and out of the same place, following the same path for long stretches. Plus, the number of people you're moving during a Jets game versus a Bomber game is far different.
  15. Do you need to pay an entrance fee in order to dine at a fast food restaurant?
  16. I believe that Trump doesn't think he did anything wrong, even if Bill did everything in he's been accused of.
  17. No doubt, just surprised he's starting tomorrow and not Saturday. Good for him.
  18. Wow. Colour me surprised about Comrie.
  19. Ovi said he was going after his owner said he could. So, kind of a mixed message from the NHL/ownership. I think the NHL has to fine him, if not suspend him, if he goes. I bet he gets fined a lot and that's it. He'll get that money back from someone in Russia (or the Trump administration - I kid!!). I'm coming around on the idea that the players need to offer something. I would love to see the CBA extended cause I don't care that much about the players or the owners and their gripes. But, I don't think it's particularly fair for the richest players to tell their teammates to suck up another CBA so that they can go to Korea (and China). Kind of breaks down the collective bargaining part of the whole thing.
  20. I have no troubles getting to the stadium for games, even going through the south entrance (where I need to enter to use my pass). Getting out, whole other story.
  21. Rapid transit will help a lot, provided access is granted to the buses used by Bombers. They'll have a clear corridor to move quickly from north to south and back. That will help those that park at the university, by removing loads of buses all trying to share the roads.
  22. Do school divisions have bus fleets or is that tendered out? I thought everything was being tendered out but maybe my assumption was incorrect?
  23. This seems correct. However, I think they hire Transit to provide logistics and on the ground support. There are some transit buses used as charters. I'm not sure what I would pay. $10 doesn't seem crazy but it's getting to my limit. My son rides for free. I have parking at the University if I choose; however, each time I've used it, it has taken me much longer to get home than the Park & Ride. MPI - Gotcha. Yes, it's another debate. But any sponsorship funds you add, likely pulls dollars from someplace else.
  24. Why? Every other league in the world is going. The IIHF is not going to cut it off just for juniors. Let the pros play.
