  1. I'm not trading a first rounder for Fleury. That would be crazy. Maybe Fleury from 5-6 years ago. 2nd rounder at most.
  2. I don't think the players are not trying to win, we're just not starting a particularly strong group. Injuries, I get it.
  3. Try to keep winning? Last night, we started Hutch in goal and defender, in his first game in the NHL, got 12 minutes. I'm not sure we're trying to win, we're just not losing.
  4. I haven't seen the game from last night but, by all accounts, Philly didn't show up. Can't really say the Jets played well against the Wild either. They've been getting points but I'm not sure they're really playing better.
  5. Arizona land deal involving Sam Katz doesn't make sense: real estate experts http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/katz-sheegl-arizona-land-deal-1.4025183 This reeks of corruption. I hope, if the evidence supports it, Katz and Sheegl are brought to justice. I hope they can't hide Arizona. This may reveal a lot of shady dealings within City Hall.
  6. Here's my problem with Fleury... How do you get him? If you get past the major roadblock of his no trade clause, allowing a trade to Winnipeg, you still have a major hurdle - the expansion draft. The Penguins will want to move him before the expansion draft, so they can protect Murray. Well, the Jets can't trade for Fleury then leave him unprotected, can they? The only way a Fleury trade works, is if you give Vegas something to not pick Fleury. What's that going to cost you? On top of the cost to get Fleury in the first place.
  7. I don't want a Commissioner that is a friend or foe to any team. I want one that best serves the league and screws the Riders. Maybe not the second one (maybe).

  9. Starting in Regina is definitely the right move. I wonder if they'll move it East next year, with Hamilton or Ottawa being natural choices. Perhaps Ottawa may have some CFL fatigue at that point. There are a lot of players in Regina this week. I was surprised how many are being brought in. I bet we see more traffic at MBB this week with the increased media attention.
  10. CFL Week So, it's the inaugural CFL Week. Does this resonate with anyone? I'm excited to see the increased attention on the CFL and to see the reactions to the combine (non-tractor edition) but I'm not really 'feeling' the CFL Week thing. I'm sure, if it were in Winnipeg, I would be more interested and attending events. 11. Right, but he was aggregating their input into his rankings. I'm curious about what the process is for these rankings
  12. I'm not sure what his ability to scout is, although he does get the great scoops. Not much analysis or rationale provided in the rankings.
  13. They're ready to be a checking line in the NHL next year?
  14. My wife is interested in it. We saw the first episode and I wasn't too interested. Should I stick it out? I am enjoying The Night Of. We're three episodes in.
  15. You suggested giving up our 6th for him. For a potential RT, who may become a starter in a year or two? I'm not sure, I wouldn't give up the 15 for him but probably not the 6.
  16. You're delusional. Bridge has nowhere near the resume that LeFevour has. In fact, does Bridge even have a resume? He's on his second team in 2 seasons in the league. And has passed for 2 whole TDs. Start the parade! And "cannot stay on a team"... Glenn.
  17. Exactly. No continuity in Regina. So, the Bombers are miles ahead. Even the Argos are ahead.
  18. No, they're wearing it again next week or something. I thought they said they would wear them three times this year but I can't remember a second?
  19. Both teams get paid to win but only one does each night.
  20. That Calvillo guy was pretty good. I might give him a vote. And, Simon seems like a no-brainer. How many can get in each year?
  21. Let's just assume for a moment that VY was put in stasis for the last 5 years, so he didn't age and didn't get into trouble. Standing only on his past performance is still questionable. He was given every opportunity to make it work in the NFL and failed. Why would it be different in the CFL? His arm going to get better? His decision making going to get better? I can't believe I'm still talking about this non-factor.
  22. The intent was so clear and the impact on the refs life has been unimaginable. This is a disgrace, 20 games was a disgrace, and 10 games wass an embarrassment.
  23. Reflecting right now on this season, Chevy made the biggest mistake by not getting a good back-up in November/December, when it was obvious Hutch was not going to cut it. I wonder how this team would have looked with Halak behind Helle for most of the season? Or Bishop, who you could have gotten for a song?
  24. I don't know why you wouldn't include Morrissey in that list. Trouba/Morrissey are a top-pairing. If we keep Trouba, we've got the nucleus of something special. Helle will be fine as soon as a has a competent 1b behind him.
