Imagine the storylines if they get Young and Manziel into camp together? Longhorn vs Aggie. Heisman vs Heisman. Gong show vs gong show. -

That was pretty funny. The interview he did afterward was a piece of art. He trolled them so well. I think the Rider fans would take it in stride if he were signed. -
But better off than previous expansion teams. They'll find it hard, IMO, getting to the floor of the salary cap.

Doesn't Vegas get the "3" spot in the lottery?
-
Good pick-up for Montreal. Makes losing Carter much easier. Certainly less drama with Jackson.
-
Fantuz won't be ready until the second half of the year, if I remember correctly. I don't see that working for the Bombers.

Commish is too sensitive. He's worried the people of Saskatchewan won't like him.

Lawless, rightly, points out that PoMo has a lot of youth in the team and he's willing to play them. PoMo could play the vets more but doesn't and that's a plus for Chevy. He also points out that the youth need to play better and be more responsible. True. He also says that goaltending has been a problem and it has. My beef with Lawless' position is this: Nothing happens in a vacuum. You can have young team that makes mistakes and you can have underachieving goaltending and STILL be a successful team. Not a truly successful one - not until those issues are resolved - but better than what we've seen this year. Why hasn't this team improved during the year? Why haven't they improved their structure? Early, they blamed a lack of practice and the schedule. Okay. Then injuries. Okay. Now? I'm not sure what they can blame. Coaching isn't the only problem with this team but this is reoccurring problem, IMO. The media, including Lawless, have given PoMo a pass on the vets of this team. They've asked about the decisions to cut ice-time for the Dynamic Duo. But where are the tough questions on Buff's performance? Stafford? Perrault? Etc. On whether True North will extend PoMo in the summer, I believe Lawless is accurately reporting what TN will do. It's his informed opinion on what TN WILL do, not necessarily what they SHOULD do.

To answer my own question: Montreal Canadiens. --------------------- Saskatchewan spent big yesterday. That's not Jones' MO. It will be interesting to see how those moves work out for them.
-
For me it's been entirely about development. Making the playoffs would have been a bonus. Before the season, I expected this team to be much better in February-March than it was in October-November. At this point, I'm not convinced it is.

Bass has signed with the RedBlacks.
-
Actually, it's not. He's correct. Everyone has migrated at some point but, as pointed out, immigration requires the modern concept of country/nation. It's part of the definition.
-
This is an extension. He was already signed through 2017.
-
Interesting take. I can't say I disagree. Maybe there's an argument for Wheeler over Little.
-
I read that this morning. This is troubling and disappointing. I love the development downtown but hope it's sustainable. This one should be okay in the end. SkyCity on the other hand....
-
Even those lived a nomadic lifestyle and moved around.
-
Interesting that 6 of the top 10 NA skaters are centres? I wonder why?
-
Yes, yes it would. Then, we could trade Roslovic/Little for a stud young D. Maybe even add some depth.
-
Fun fact.... everyone emigrated from somewhere.
-
We can always wring our hands over our back-up QB and when will they get reps.
-
This is great because we won't spend the entire season wondering when Walters' will re-sign him. Great pick, great extension.

Rather than looking at how far we'll sink, I would rather look at the top 10 prospects entering the draft and start that discussion. 2017 Draft Prospects Top 10 North American Skaters: Midterm Rank Player Position Last Amateur Club League 1 PATRICK, NOLAN Center BRANDON WHL 2 HISCHIER, NICO Center HALIFAX QMJHL 3 VILARDI, GABRIEL Center WINDSOR OHL 4 TIPPETT, OWEN Right Wing MISSISSAUGA OHL 5 MITTELSTADT, CASEY Center EDEN PRAIRIE HIGH-MN 6 RASMUSSEN, MICHAEL Center TRI-CITY WHL 7 TOLVANEN, EELI Right Wing SIOUX CITY USHL 8 GLASS, CODY Center PORTLAND WHL 9 VALIMAKI, JUUSO Defenseman TRI-CITY WHL 10 MAKAR, CALE Defenseman BROOKS AJHL Top 10 European Skaters: Midterm Rank Player Position Last Amateur Club League 1 KOSTIN, KLIM Left Wing/Center DYNAMO MOSCOW RUSSIA 2 PETTERSSON, ELIAS Center TIMRA SWEDEN-2 3 ANDERSSON, LIAS Center HV 71 SWEDEN 4 VESALAINEN, KRISTIAN Left Wing/Right Wing FROLUNDA SWEDEN 5 NECAS, MARTIN Center BRNO CZREP 6 HEISKANEN, MIRO Defenseman HIFK FINLAND 7 LILJEGREN, TIMOTHY Defenseman ROGLE SWEDEN 8 VAAKANAINEN, URHO Defenseman JYP FINLAND 9 SAFIN, OSTAP Right Wing SPARTA JR. Yay, it's here! This should be an interesting day. Hopefully it's fun. I wonder which Canadian hockey team will make a move today and totally steal the limelight?
-
And that makes sense from his point of view. But would that really be a surprise to the Bombers? Were they really surprised that he left for Saskatchewan, given an opportunity?
