Game 53 : Red River @ Mississippi

"...Pav has great numbers against St. Louis..." It feels early for tanking but it must be the case. -

Pav starts, per PoMo. I don't understand this. -
I agree but I can be too sentimental sometimes.

Exactly. The reason players don't like going is not for the skills competition or the game, it's all of the corporate stuff they have to do. It's not stop, apparently. I can see the value in it, from an NHL point-of-view, but for the players, it would be a drag. Of course, anything that helps the NHL, helps the players. My son enjoyed the AHL All-Star skills competition more than the NHL one. He said it was much more fun. Of course, he also enjoyed the Pro-Bowl yesterday, so he has no taste. (He was sick all weekend, so he got to watch lots of - too much - TV)

Trouba wants out (Trouba has signed)

And True North has spent a bunch of money re-investing into the MTS Centre. Also, they've used their financial leverage to invest in other projects, like True North Square. I have no doubt that True North is profitable off the Jets. I don't like this notion that they are 'cheap'. They're cautious and they protect their investment. -

I'm more curious to find out who Floyd's source is that they're swimming in cash. I would like to know how much True North earns in a year vs how much is invested into the club. -

How much money do the Jets have? What does their balance sheet look like? I would love to know that. -
That was just horrible. I haven't watched it in years but my son was very interested. I was curious to watch Laine. Only the NHL can take the most skilled players in the league and produce such an unwatchable product. The pace was so slow, the events were awkward and the commentary uninspired. Luckily, I didn't have to sit through the whole thing. What was with that shooting competition from the blue lines? That doesn't demonstrate skill. You don't provide any opportunity for players to warm up or get the feel of the puck? They ended up with Suter not able to hit the net from the blue line and everyone else looked too "cold". I thought PKs interview was good. I'm not a big PK fan but he gets it.

Game 52 : Lake Winnipeg @ Lake Michigan

No one is talking about the goalie coaches where they've had tons of success in goal? Shocking! -

It's not about ruining, it's about inhibiting his development. He's in his third year of professional hockey, he's still very far from a finished product and, he's done pretty well considering he's played 61 games in the NHL. -
You can expect a major policy change across the Crown Corps.

Who cares about salary cap right now? It's not "costing" you anything. So, you would have traded Myers a year ago, before Trouba was even signed? When the (legitimate) plan was to move Trouba to the left?
-
I don't think they do. I had a look at the Jets active roster and can't see one. 12 active.
-
That would be my preference. Even if Myers becomes the odd man out, his value is too low right now. Get him back, contributing and healthy, and you can move him for a lot more value. I would still prefer to keep Myers but I don't see any room for him now. This, of course, assumes Trouba is prepared to negotiate a long-term contract with the Jets (and vice-versa).

There are so many positives for a player like that to go to the Moose. Chance to play big minutes, which he wouldn't get here, and truly develop. I don't know if your assessment of Poolman is correct but, if it is, then the year on the farm is good idea for both player and team. It seems that there is a rush to get players up from the AHL. If we had done that with a player like Morrissey, before he was ready, we would be wondering why he was struggling so much in the our third pairing? I think Postma's development was halted the moment he signed a one-way contract. Stopped playing big minutes and also sat a lot. No opportunity to send him down when he was struggling. Bad recipe, IMO.

You don't have to look far for loonies around here. -
Welcome to the internet. We're here all day.

I said they've started that, which begins with undermining the institutions. Quit with your grandstanding, ad hominem attacks.

Undermining the institutions.
-
No, undermining the institutions and limiting free speach is the first thing they try to do. That way, when they do come for the guns, they get them without resistance. They've started that. Also notice that Obama didn't take everyone's guns or begin the Islamic revolution the right-wing nutjobs (or are they mainstream now?) always claimed.

We brought him in as insurance. I still think Jones sees him as insurance for his "Plan A". Time will tell. -
