  1. It's time to fire Maurice and bring in who, exactly?
  2. Jones didn't have a lot of confidence in Nichols in Edmonton, so I don't see the fit.
  3. I'll take 50 esq and GC, thank-you.
  4. I don't know why you would want Ray over Burris, unless it's entirely on personality. Ray is 37 going on 47. Burris is 41 going on 31. Ray is broken and Burris just won a GC.
  5. Maybe Jones brings in Burris and Carter. Goes for the quick turnaround. (Has Carter signed yet? I feel out of the loop.)
  6. I think if Jones believes he has a stud QB in the stable, he'll pick up Glenn.
  7. I don't think you know how to fish if you're using Pavelec as bait. Maybe a team, before the trade deadline, needs a back-up going into the playoffs and would take a chance with him. I could see them trading Perreault if it means protecting Armia. I don't WANT to trade Perrault but at this point we need to look at protecting as many assets as possible. Perreault has a lot of value, I believe, and cap friendly contract for a team making a push. Vegas has to take 3 goalies. A cheap option like Hutch, that can be a back-up in the NHL or AHL, may work for them.
  8. I got excited for a moment, then realized he re-signed.
  9. I loved the film. I appreciated all the scenes/frames that they reshot in homage to Star Wars: A New Hope. It felt very natural.
  10. So, he's not hurting the team yet.
  11. And they extended Hajrullahu.
  12. Don't you know? There's always a player on the farm that's being held back by whatever player had an off night.
  13. I'm not saying it can't work, I'm saying neither player wants to be put in the situation. Hank was just as good last year, without Harris. Tate had no choice due to injuries. He's accepted his role.
  14. RE: Franklin and Nichols. They've been down this road together before and I doubt either would be too happy with the situation. If you're Nichols, how happy are you to be looking over your shoulder each week? Either the club believes in you or it doesn't. It's one thing to bring in a raw rookie (like Davis) that needs time to develop or a old vet, who can come in if you get injured or the game is out of reach. It's an entirely different scenario if you have a player who's seemingly ready to take the next step. And, who has supplanted you before as a starter. If you're Franklin, why would you want to play behind Nichols again? I know he doesn't have much of choice if he's traded but his contract is up next year. He could leave next winter for nothing. Knowing the way MOS works, it's not as though Franklin is going to get many reps. If you're the Walters, why would you pay to bring him in? Your coach doesn't like to change QBs and you'll pay a premium for a guy to sit. You may even lose him next year for nothing.
  15. They can do it after the playoffs are over.
  16. They're not trying to protect Hutch. They're keeping him to be exposed. Asset management.
  17. Lots of players get paid a lot of money and are not professional. It's not the money, it's that he's a classy guy.
  18. Penguins won't lose Murray. They'll find a way to get Fleury moved to a team that makes sense for Fleury.
  19. I remember two years ago, on New Year's Eve, when the Islanders walked in and beat us 5-2. Let's hope there is no repeat.
  20. I'm not sure if anyone's been listening to the reports but it sounds like Pav has been a true professional in the A. He's helping Comrie, which is exactly what you want from a veteran back-up.
  21. No, teams can protect only so many players and must expose a minimum of two forward, one defenseman, and one goalie. Vegas can pick from anyone as long as they are not on the protected list, under 2 years, or LTIR.
  22. Paul "The Tinkerer" Maurice. He just can't help himself but to tinker with the line-up, the lines and the goalies.
  23. No, no, don't you understand? You don't develop in the AHL, you just waste talent. Lucky for Comrie he wasn't a finalist for the Hobie Baker award or he would have been anointed the Jets number one goalie before the season started.
  24. Which means we have to expose other players but that Vegas can still pick them.
  25. So, pay him to do what in 2017/18?
