  1. How can a goalie play in 11 games, yet have 'decisions' in 12?
  2. Agreed. I was referring to situations where you like the player but not at the salary they're getting. The situation that often happens with older players who have great character but their skills are seriously diminished.
  3. Yes, I was just wondering what we would consider as recruited. RE: Bowman - 925 Yards, 15 games, in 2009.
  4. Recruited, as in, we brought them into the league? Otherwise, Bowman is pretty good.
  5. True but... You don't want to put yourself into a position where you're overpaying any player, forcing you to cut them.
  6. No, he's 5-3-2. 11 Games Played. He has 2 SOL, which count as OTL. I think you're double counting those.
  7. Pav has 5 losses and 5 wins. He also has a 0.907 save percentage... in the AHL!!
  8. I think the only drawback is the recruiting. That can be a killer. Each year out identifying talent and trying to 'lure' them to come to your team.
  9. I hope we take the best player available during the draft and fill the rest of our needs in FA.
  10. Can't help but think he'll be back. Maybe he follows the same path as Austin. Although, Austin was an established, Grey Cup winning HC, when he left.
  11. Is the cap going up next year? But, yes, I agree, you cannot give Nicholls $450,000 guaranteed. If he reaches that amount with incentives, then it's a good problem to have, in-year, next year.
  12. I thank Mack everyday for the great QB talent he brought in. Helped solidify our O-line too with imports.
  13. You believe that? I don't think much has gone the players way. There's a cap and nonguaranteed contracts. Little concessions are cheap compared to these.
  14. I don't know about restricted free agency. The players already give up so much control in the CFL with nonguaranteed contracts and all. I would like to see each team with a restricted list of players that could be released to try out for NFL teams but that their rights would remain with their clubs. Maybe the there would be a cap to how many players a CFL team could hold. Maybe it would only apply to players within five years (could be more or less) of initially joining a CFL team.
  15. We talk about PoMo's dedication to his vets but what about his dedication to his assistants? There's been virtually no turnover there since he' been here. I really don't know what an assistant can or can't do to help get the team prepared. I'm pretty ignorant as to their impact. It is his system. -------- Of course, they've barely had any practice time this year. You have to think that's helping to kill them.
  16. I still think it was the incorrect decision but I can see MOS' rationale. He watches his kicker do it all season long in practice and his kicker says he can do it. No one has really gone after Medlock for using a tee when he didn't even practice with it all year.
  17. I don't think Connor has played better than any of the struggling veterans or other youth on this team. He needs time on the ice but he needs it where he can develop. He's better suited for the Moose right now. Hopefully, he finds his touch, learns some things and can rejoin the big club later this year or next.
  18. Who's getting less than 3-year extensions out there?
  19. Kyle Connor reassigned to the Moose. Finally!!!
  20. But you had a quote!
  21. Just announced that Walters has been extended to 2020 and O'Shea to 2019. Good job.
  22. Geez, how could I forget the goalies and Copp. All three solid picks. And I left off Ehlers from my first rounders. Chevy has definitely, restocked the farm with talented players, that can play for the big club if necessary.
  23. The thing about Maurice is that he fits the Jets so well in terms of how the coach/team conducts business. His personality reflects management/ownership.
  24. Okay, let's look at Chevy's drafting... There are some really excellent picks in the first round and, for that alone, he deserves tons of credit. I don't think he's really made a mistake with his first round picks. Sheif - when others had him ranked much lower, Chevy saw the elite number centre he could be. Morrissey - after just missing out on Domi, he reached to grab Morrissey. "Everyone" had Morrissey as a deep first round pick but Chevy knew better. I think he was right. Connor - Wonderfully fell into his lap. Trouba - I think he was picked where he was suppose to go. Roslovic - remains to be seen but he seems like a future number 2 centre. Stanley - wait and see. Laine - Bust. Now, who has Chevy drafted outside the 1st round that will make a lasting impact. Lowry - what a solid pick. They knew he could move from the wing to centre. And they were right. Petan - great pick. Whether he makes it as a regular NHLer still remains to be seen but you can't complain about taking a chance on an undersized, skill guy. Who else?
