  1. Hmmmm... I'll have to listen to the quote again. I thought he wanted them all to play on both sides. I could be wrong.
  2. Maurice said he expects his four kids to move and play on both sides this year to help their development. (Referring to Laine, Connor, Ehlers and Morrissey) So, maybe Laine, Connor and Ehlers would flip sides in order to accommodate the aging Ladd. Good problem not to have this year!
  3. I didn't realize Gaydosh's injuries were that bad, either. I thought the Riders stole this trade. Too bad for the guy. He really could have been a special player in this league.
  4. They could pay him 7 x $6.64M and get under that amount. I guess the Jets would sign him for an AAV of $6.64.
  5. That would be a pretty tough call. I mean, if it were Edmonton with the offer sheet, I would be inclined to let them have him for two firsts a second, and a third. Look how often they pick first overall! At the very least, they would be top tier picks!
  6. Sat in the new seats for Cirque. They're nice. Not much more to say than that. I think Helle gets the start. Someone must have the cap space and picks to offer Trouba a $7-8M x 7 year deal? That doesn't require 4x 1st rounders. I don't think anyone would do it, at this point.
  7. I think it's a fair deal for both sides. Maybe he gets a bit more somewhere else but he would need to be traded. He can do well for two years on this bridge and get traded to a team willing to take on his big contract going forward. Meanwhile, he gets another chance at a Stanley Cup run and pays really low income tax. Win-win.
  8. They didn't punish Saskatchewan that much for far more egregious violations. I think the Esks get fined and Maas has to be mic'd up for an entire week - at home and work. Imagine the ratings of the all Maas channel. Ketchup or Catsup?
  9. Think he reports? They don't need to send him down for a while. He can stay with the Jets for 10 games or 30 days (I think those are the terms). But, he obviously can't play. They can give the H's a run and see how they do. If it crumbles, they can activate Pav and send down one of the H's.
  10. I don't know if I'm more amazed with the fact that Chiarelli got something (anything) for Yak or that's he's given away another top pick while getting so little in return.
  11. I guess when you get so many first overall picks, you bound to get one good one. Good thing for Edmonton they got so many chances.
  12. I agree. You have to put Lowry somewhere. That let's you carry one additional forward and defender that you intend to play.
  13. I look forward to getting a cheap ticket to BMO Field to watch the Bombers beat up on the RedBlacks. It will be a fun time!
  14. Chevy's number is probably blocked.
  15. I would like to see an expanded roster for 10 games for players on 2-way contracts. That way, teams can't 'hide' players or sit them avoiding waivers. Players deserve better than to sit, waiting for a chance.
  16. Yost had an interesting article on Ristolainen. I don't think it tells the full story but still interesting.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if they waived Peluso or Strait, I would be surprised if they waived Thorburn and I would be shocked if they waived Lowry and Pavelec.
  18. Awesome for Roslovic. Could have sent him to London but they think he's ready for the pros. That's quite a compliment!!
  19. You can justify sending Connor down because he's young and may not be physically capable of staying with the club for the entire year. I think he starts with the club, based on his preseason but I'm not sure he sticks. It's a huge leap from Rookie-NCAA to the NHL. He could go down, partner him with Roslovic (assuming he sticks with the Moose) and let them develop together. See: Petan and Sheif. Both had awesome camps and put up numbers but needed more time to develop at a lower level (OHL/AHL).
  20. Sounds like they're tanking to get the top pick in the draft!
  21. Except for that whole "contract" thing that the CFL has.
  22. I have no ill wishes for Willy but why would I want him to do well? There are eight teams in this league that I want to fail miserably each week, Argos included.
  23. The refs were horrendous. No wonder the CFL lets coaches hit them without penalty.
  24. Yeah, I'm sure Anaheim wants a bunch of under-performing forwards they can't protect next year. I don't think they move Lowry. I think they give him a chance to turn it around.
  25. Somewhere, Stuart is nodding in agreement.
