  1. NHL/NHLPA probably. The player will likely have to pay for additional coverage if they want it. This was stated by someone on TSN 1290 earlier. Lawless maybe?
  2. Why would we downgrade our second line centre position and take on more salary? We're going to have to pay some of these kids soon too.
  3. Staal gets paid a lot to sit on our third line.
  4. Presale on now: http://www.truenorthshop.com/heritage-classic.html
  5. I know, I know... just like to remind everyone that these are clean jerseys, not tainted by the desert stink.
  6. Correct. I meant originally, when the franchise left, the trademarks didn't move to Phoenix, so they never belonged to them. They remain 'untarnished'.
  7. Thankfully, the NHL maintained the rights to the Jets 1.0 logos and colours, so I don't believe they ever transferred to the desert.
  8. Best thing I ever heard around "running up the score" was "we'll stop trying to score when you do". They definitely changed the play calls before the half. They should have tried to the ball down field and score.
  9. They could just throw in a "Winnipeg Moving the chains" (type jingle) after every first down... Everyone's happy and there's a few more dollars in the pot.
  10. He was also limping a bit earlier in the game. Seemed to be a knee. Nothing major (it appears), just a knock. Still makes you wonder why he was out there so late in the game? Nicholls too?
  11. Adams was hurt but came back.
  12. That was one of my favorite games I ever attended. Bundled up, beer freezing, and having a party before the old stadium closed (we thought it was, anyhow). It was so much fun.
  13. Got there by 6:30 with my boy. He loved watching the baseball game, and thankfully, he didn't have to kill my phone battery watching it. I made him leave after the 3rd quarter, when the buses started. He has a early day today (and so did I). Really appreciated all the staff and volunteers last night! And really appreciated the Bombers putting the baseball game up on the screen. It made a big difference to me and my son.

  15. I'm certain PoMo said that they will be paired up together, at least to start the year. Said so during the mini-camp, I believe.
  16. Just getting him off the payroll and out of the dressing room is payment enough for me. But boy does the Sabres-Jets trade look very good on Chevy now. Always did IMO.
  17. Good deals and I'm glad they're done. I think Lowry can be our 3rd line centre but he needs to bounce back from last season. Armia? Who knows. Haven't seen enough at the NHL level to warrant a one-way, IMO, but they probably got a small discount.
  18. And plenty of very good transit options. Not competing with a single sporting event or team last night either. When you consider people manage to get to the Dome, at an average of 35K per game, there's no excuse.
  19. I assumed that LV was awarded Kane as an expansion gift? He could spend the entire 2016/17 season there.
  20. Just like last week, I want to them to start playing in the first quarter. Show some spark! Get the crowd into it.
  21. It was very telling when Sheif said he wasn't involved in the negotiations much right until the end. Same is likely true with Trouba. There is so much we don't know about the negotiations, like what was offered and what was requested. So much of what happens here may have depended on where the Sheif negotiations went. If that's a starting point, then Trouba could follow really quickly now. As far as we know, the term and figure has been negotiated and all they're talking now is the timing of the payments.
  22. It's a great contract for a budget (not cap) team like the Jets.

  24. I don't think you sign Trouba for more than $5 AAV for 6 years. He has not earned more than that. Betting that Armia is going to be good is one thing, over paying him by more than 50% does not make any sense. Bridge now and let him earn a contract. But how are you going to protect the LHD in the expansion draft? I still see Lowry as our 3rd line centre of the future. Petan - bottom six. Yes, I doubt he'll do much more and I don't see him passing anyone to take a top six spot. Maybe he's more but I doubt the Oilers want more skilled guys that don't have grit. They have too much of that already. Stafford - bottom six. On the Oilers? Yes. He's not getting in front of Eberle or Poolparty (and they still have Yak - for now). Nice depth third line scorer with the ability to play up if needed. And again, how would the Oilers protect all these guys? I don't see the need to add another centre to push Little down to the third line. Lipon does not deserve to start in the NHL. Not yet. He needs to develop and that's what the A is for. He has a chance to battle Lemieux for that energy depth guy.
  25. If Trouba only signs for 6 years, I don't see why you would give him $5.5. If you're getting 8 years, I could see an AAV of $5.75. 6 years, under $5.0. $4.0, $4.25, $4.25, $4.5, $5.5, $6.0 = $4.75M AAV, and realistically, you're trading him by the 2nd or 3rd year rather than losing him for nothing after 6 years. Why on earth would you give Armia $2.0 AAV? What has he done to earn that much? 2x $1.25 seems reasonable for a bridge. I don't know why you would be eager to see a young centre who can play on the wing traded, but okay..... I'm not sure why EDM would trade a bunch of bottom 6 players, that they won't be able to protect, that don't help with their current problems for one of their assets. Tanev will likely get a 2-year $0.9 to $1.0 deal. Lipon will start with the Moose. He's a high energy guy. Not sure why you want him traded.
