  1. Morrissey would need protecting too. He's been a pro for a year now.
  2. Another reason I have a preference for Laine... his attitude. He's going to spend the rest of his career trying to prove that he should have been number one overall pick. There seems to be a fire there. If the Jets had number one, Matthews all the way.
  3. I don't think you can say that Puljujarvi is better all around player. He may play a 200 foot game but most scouts put Laine ahead. It's close, I'm sure. Also, pointing out knee injury concerns when Puljujarvi just had knee surgery? I wouldn't riot, I wouldn't care. I'm sure whoever the Jets pick, they'll have their reasons. But I like Laine's shot and his physical game.
  4. Rioting at Portage & Main.
  5. Both are huge. The ratio impact is huge. Can Flanders block and catch like Harris can? (I'm really not sure)
  6. Not to worry, he'll bring his A-game on Friday. The whole team will bring 110%. They're learning the systems, they're putting in hours. They really like what Coach has in the playbook. They're looking to feed off the energy of loudest crowd in the CFL.
  7. I got my call today for my Westerman jersey.
  8. Brandon Banks
  9. West: Calgary 12-6 Bombers 11-7 Edmonton 9-9 BC 7-11 Sask 6-12 East: Hamilton 12-6 Toronto 10-8 Ottawa 8-10 Montreal 6-12 Bombers beat Ti-Cats to hoist the Grey Cup.
  10. Macho will be so pleased!
  11. I'm curious too. I would like to pick my jersey up before Friday's game.
  12. I don't give players credit for not complaining.
  13. Why do we need a goalie for the expansion draft?
  14. Hamonic rescinded his trade request. It's a non-starter.
  15. I'm unclear how the neg list works for released players. Is he automatically on our neg list because we drafted him, so when he leaves Western (assuming he's going back), we can try to sign or trade him?
  16. I thought Hamonic rescinded his trade request?
  17. I could see Colorado making a run at him via offer sheet. Pushes up the Jets salaries and they may pry him out. I guess it depends what kind of relationship the GM has with Chevy. You don't make friends with offer sheets! If not Colorado, I could see another club taking a gamble on him. Maybe even to push through a trade.
  18. I find it interesting that he does not favour bridge deals, considering how much he's been praised in the past for the bridge deals he signs. In this case though, the bridge deal favours Trouba, where as a long-term, realistic deal would probably favour the Jets. I assume the Jets will match any offer sheet but it will make him hard to trade if a big one comes in. Match is one thing, match and retain is another.
  19. I wonder if Chevy is suggesting that the rumours came from Trouba's camp? I think they are, not necessarily because he wants to be traded, but because they're pushing for a deal to be done.
  20. Saw this morning, doors open at 5:30.
  21. Fits the narrative.
  22. Willy hasn't played in ten months. I expect timing and rhythm to be poor (but I don't expect him to be hit so much). If he can get the ball out quicker, he'll be okay.
  23. Willey. Cut.
  24. Last media availability prior to the draft. I expect a lot of nothing. "Contract talks ongoing..." "Always talking to other GMs across the league..." Rinse. Repeat.
  25. Good news for everyone in the Pacific but Anaheim.
