  1. Where did you see that? His CFL.CA page says 6'3 285lbs?
  2. Unless maybe it was his college team?
  3. Hey fellas, found this book on amazon, just came out in January. Its called Border Boys and its basically a historical look at football in general but mostly focusses on the American players that lived close to Canada that came up north in the 30's and helped change our game. Specifically about the first time the Grey Cup was won by a western team(Winnipeg in 1935). Its written by a North Dakotan (Ryan Christiansen). I just got into it but it really seems like he's done his research. Thought you all might find it interesting. Thats Fritz Hanson on the cover who essentially became the first true Winnipeg Blue Bomber star back in the 30's. He pretty much single handedly won us the 1935 Grey Cup from what ive read(334 punt return yards in the game which is still a Grey Cup record). My late grandmother would often speak of his exploits 🙂
  4. Most Rider fans seem to hate this move so that makes me happy.
  5. Mother nature can take a sharp stick and........you know the rest.
  6. Pretty cool pic of Jack Jacobs and Tom Casey. Notice how the equipment trunk says Winnipeg Rugby Football Club. Many moons ago! Some interesting facts about Tom Casey. He was the first african american player to be voted into the CFL hall of fame, and he was actually a licensed practising doctor. A profession which he worked in after football.
  7. Not just in the CFL but the game of American football globally. Truly one of the early pioneers of the forward pass.
  8. Agreed. Theres a reason why Winnipeg Stadium is referred to as the house that Jack built. These are his passing stats from 1951! GP Att Com % Yds TD Int 14 355 204 57.5 3248 33 10 Insane. That would be a pretty great season in todays game! First professional QB to throw for over 3000 yards and 30 TD's. Oh and he was also the teams punter and had a 41.1 yard average over 95 punts.
  9. No complaints from me.
  10. Dont bother. Im on a corner and on the lengthwise side of my yard thats adjacent to the sidewalk, i have 4 feet of granite that runs under my fence line. Well after the nuggets that run the sidewalk snowblowers did their damage, i now have probably 2 afternoons worth of picking up hundreds upon hundreds of granite stones that have been re-deposited onto the boulevard(that i also have to cut. Thanks city).
  11. I dont imagine theyre getting much of a deal. Governments arnt known for taking their time when sending out tenders to get the best price. Usually its a case of who you know and what you get if you know what i mean.
  12. Lol, apparently like 30 million OVER budget. And alot more coming!!!
  13. Ran into Drew Wolitarsky at the Forks yesterday(by ran into i mean interrupted his lunch like a fanboy), and gave him a "cheers to a threepeat bro" fist bump. Luckily he was cool though lol.
  14. Many moons ago my buddy used to work at a grocery store in the deli section and has fond memories of Walby coming in and buying various luncheon meats by the pound lol.
  15. Even though its April Fool's, im still leaning towards true in this case. Edmonton Elks sign Ricky Ray, will convert him to linebacker - 3DownNation
  16. Dairi-Wip(my all-time fav), Burger Factory, and Nuburger are all excellent and all quite different from each-other flavor wise.
  17. Booked an airbnb house back in December baby! Only one i could find listed that slept 12 in Regina. Put $1000 down on it already so it better not get cancelled!
  18. You forgot the one and only Evander Double Down Kane
  19. The LFL is the only other football league i'd be interested in developing
  20. Cant imagine the Bombers are happy about him signing a USFL deal. Might end up being a wasted pick. S*** happens i guess but sucks that we spent our 3rd overall pick on him.
  21. Youre just upset he spewed Rider drivel over the airwaves to the unwashed green masses for 3 years.
  22. Housing has absolutely gone bonkers over the last couple of years in Nanaimo too. Makes sense seeing at its an island and only so much space available. My dad + stepmom sold their house 2 years ago. They had lived there for about 8 years and made like $250K on it over that time. They then bought a townhouse after selling there home and an identical model just sold a few months ago across the street from them for $200K more than they had paid for theres. Pretty good 2 year growth lol. Jesus.
