Yeah we needed it. Its been super dry here for a few years now. I heard something on the radio months ago about Shoal Lake, where Winnipeg gets its water from, being like 4+ feet below normal. There was actually talk of possible Winnipeg water rationing this summer if we got another dry winter/spring. Which ironically is something that happens from time to time in Nanaimo.

Yeah my dad retired and moved to Nanaimo after living 60+ years in Winnipeg. He said the rain is the hardest part for him. It gets depressing as hell day after day after day. Having said that it sure beats the absolute shitt winter we are having. 3rd snowiest Winnipeg winter on record so far since 1873, with well below average temperatures. Yeah thats shitty. Weve actually been spoiled over the last few years. The winters have been great.

I seriously think cold weather played a large factor. I remember seeing a quick shot of him on the sidelines during the West Final where an excited teammate was talking to him, and he was just standing there with one of those big puffy sideline jackets on just shaking his head and looking like he wanted to die.

There was an article on cfl.ca recently where Stove mentioned he sent out a group message, before he signed with BC, telling everybody(teammates and staff) how much he appreciated them all.

There was a chinese website many years ago(like 15 or so) that sold knock off jerseys for peanuts. A buddy at work somehow found it. I believe it was like $25 for NFL and $45 for NHL jerseys, and they were freaking amazing. Colors/sizing/material/name+number bars, were all bang on. Side by side you could not tell the difference from pro. The NHL jerseys even had the fighting tie-down straps sewn in. I probably bought like 20 all together lol.

I agree that a lot of our departures are going to be replaced with newbies, which is the nature of the business, and i agree that there is no money for big splash guys. I would just like to see us retain more of our guys that helped is win championships.

I said that that even after handing out a few raises and signing Ellingson, Walters should still have a chunk left. And i was wondering what he was planning on doing with it when i see proven commodities like Darby allowed to walk, and impactful players like Grant still unsigned.

IWWT, but im really curious about what he's doing with our cap space. Weve probably shed damn near 1 million dollars in cap space with all our recent departures. Since then he's brought in exactly 1 free agent(Ellingson), and handed out a handful of raises. I understand we need to keep some aside for BA and a couple of guys like that but he should still have a good chunk left to play with. Not happy to see guys like Darby leave.

According to Hodge Hamilton was also in on Darby so that may be where the indecision is. Doesnt sound like the Bombers are in the mix at all
