  1. Can't see the NFLPA seeing it though.
  2. Not today or tomorrow, but since liability still hasn't been settled, it'll be interesting to see how the game will change. Can't see a day pre-apocolypse where the NFL is going to force players to sign a waiver saying they'll never sue the league if they get a concussion.
  3. And in Northeast South Dakota as well.
  4. It's like they've never heard of Matt Dunigan, Buck Pierce, Ricky Ray etc.
  5. Boston University's study found that 99% of the NFL players had some degree of CTE and I'm pretty sure they all didn't get rocked like Collaros. Knowing that, it's pretty hard to pick and choose the players you want to protect. I'm not sure what the solution is. By CHRIS CHAVEZ July 25, 2017 "A new study by Boston University researcher Dr. Ann McKee examined the brains of 202 deceased football players and found that 110 of the 111 brains of former NFL players had chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE)." High school players in the study had mild cases while college and professionals had more severe cases. CTE was found in 177 of the 202 brains." https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/07/25/boston-university-study-cte-nfl-player-brains

  8. I was replying to someone, so I believe you must have been on your home planet when that post was made.
  9. So what you are saying is you're totally ok with the headshot that begins an athlete's concussion history, but any shots he takes after that are on him. I understand now.
  10. Because it sure sounds like you're victim-blaming here.
  11. Exactly. Compare hockey enforcers Todd Ewen's and Tie Domi's outcomes. It was on Simoni Oglethorpe to avoid that shot and no one else.
  12. Because he was medically cleared to play and there isn't a professional sports league today that takes head injury and CTE seriously enough? I can't possibly begin to understand what you are saying about "virtue signalling about head injuries", because it's very real. You should have stopped at, "It was a dirty hit".

His administration, with help from Republicans in Congress, has often targeted environmental rules it sees as burdensome to the fossil fuel industry and other big businesses. 18. Reading the articles from both links (the second is essentially the main source for the first) will enlighten you about her foreign policy philosophies and her other issues. I'm really surprised this hasn't garnered more attention.
  19. Trust me - read this. The headline does not begin to describe how strange her life and her connections to a Hindu cult and international pyramid scheme run by QNET are. Tulsi Gabbard Had a Very Strange Childhood Which may help explain why she’s out of place in today’s Democratic Party. And her long-shot 2020 candidacy. "For many years in Kailua, the Gabbards’ known involvement with the Science of Identity went largely unremarked upon. It took an outsider, a 45-year-old special-education teacher and independent journalist Christine Gralow, who moved to the island just three years ago, to get curious enough to start asking questions. She mapped a web of relationships among devotees. “I had no idea,” she told me, “that this was going to lead me to Tulsi Gabbard.”" http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/06/tulsi-gabbard-2020-presidential-campaign.html Also: https://www.meanwhileinhawaii.org/home/butlersweb

  21. NISSAN TITAN POWER RANKINGS: HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL IN WEEK 1 1. Calgary Stampeders Record: 0-0 Last Week: — Missing roughly two-thirds of their 2018 starting defence, the Stamps face an uphill battle in their quest to repeat as Grey Cup Champions. On the other hand, most of the offence is intact, led by highly-regarded coach Dave Dickenson and two-time Most Outstanding Player Bo Levi Mitchell, who’s back on a four-year deal. You just can’t count this team out. 2. Winnipeg Blue Bombers Record: 0-0 Last Week: — As the drought approaches three decades, 2019 may be the Bombers’ best chance yet to win a Grey Cup. They were close last year, falling to Calgary in the Western Final, and this off-season GM Kyle Walters has re-stocked the shelves, adding Willie Jefferson to the defensive line and Chris Matthews to the receiving corps. On paper this could be the CFL’s deepest, most talented roster. 3. BC Lions Record: 0-0 Last Week: — If the Lions are flying under the radar in the hotly-contested West, don’t expect that to last. First-time head coach DeVone Caybrooks has assembled quite the cast of characters in BC, with Mike Reilly, Bryan Burnham and Duron Carter leading what’s expected to be a highly-explosive offence. In the end, though, it’s the other side of the ball that will determine just how far the Lions can go. 4. Hamilton Tiger-Cats Record: 0-0 Last Week: — Will the Ticats miss June Jones? That’s the question in Steeltown, where a talented roster has new leadership on both sides of the ball in coaches Orlondo Steinauer, Tommy Condell and Mark Washington. If a league-leading offence led by Jeremiah Masoli can pick up where it left off, the Ticats are heavily favoured to win the East and contend for a long-awaited Grey Cup. 5. Edmonton Eskimos Record: 0-0 Last Week: — Despite missing the playoffs AND losing franchise quarterback Mike Reilly, the Eskimos are trending up after a busy off-season. Brock Sunderland transformed the team’s core over the winter, signing Trevor Harris, Greg Ellingson and DaVaris Daniels to lead the offence along with a trio of new linebackers on defence. The Eskimos may just be the dark horse of the CFL West Division. 6. Saskatchewan Roughriders Record: 0-0 Last Week: — Led by the projected No. 1 defence and a star running back in William Powell, the ingredients for success are in place in Riderville — but there are questions. Zach Collaros wasn’t the team’s first choice at quarterback after a forgettable first season in green and white, while the departure of Chris Jones affects multiple layers of the organization. There is no bigger wildcard in the CFL than Saskatchewan in 2019. 7. Toronto Argonauts Record: 0-0 Last Week: — Coming off a last-place finish, cautious optimism surrounds the Argos heading into the new campaign. Star off-season addition Derel Walker looks to be in top form coming off season-ending injury, while Jacques Chapdelaine’s offence has clicked all pre-season, leading the team to a 2-0 record. If Corey Chamblin’s defence returns to its 2017 form, the Boatmen could challenge for the East Division crown. 8. Ottawa REDBLACKS Record: 0-0 Last Week: — It’s been a tough few months in the nation’s capital, with little remaining of the core that won East Division titles in three of the last four years. The list of off-season losses for the REDBLACKS is too long for this space, but General Manager Marcel Desjardins has proven adept at scouting and developing new talent. If this team can contend in 2019, it will silence more than a few critics in the process. 9. Montreal Alouettes Record: 0-0 Last Week: — As surprising as it was to see Mike Sherman dismissed days before the season, the tone around the Alouettes appears to be positive. Young Antonio Pipkin has been named the team’s starting quarterback, while Khari Jones has worked hard for his first opportunity as a head coach. Perhaps laying low isn’t a bad thing for a team looking to finally break out and get back in the post-season.
  22. There are going to be some good records in the West this year because the East is 3/4's bad. WEST Winnipeg: 13-5 Calgary: 12-6 BC: 11-7 Edmonton: 10-8 Sask: 4-14 EAST Hamilton: 11-7 Tor: 6-12 Ott: 5-13 Mtl: 4:14 Wpg defeats Cgy at home in Western Final and defeats Hamilton in the Grey Cup.
  23. I'd like to say I'm surprised our KPMG government doesn't have an actual plan, but I'm not. New Manitoba plan contains no carbon tax, higher carbon emissions level New carbon dioxide reductions target set at 1 megatonne, down from 2½-megatonnes target announced in 2017 The Manitoba government is watering down its target for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and removing any possible carbon tax from the equation. Sustainable Development Minister Rochelle Squires announced Monday that the Progressive Conservative government is aiming to reduce annual emissions by one megatonne of carbon dioxide equivalent between 2018 and 2022. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/manitoba-green-plan-carbon-tax-1.5169822
