I guess it was about 15 years ago when one of the Winnipeg AM stations (CFRW?) tried the all-sports format, but all they did was rebroadcast one of the FAN networks out of Toronto. The NFL to CFL content was probably close to 20:1 in favour of the NFL. A good chunk of the CFL discussion was wondering why the Ottawa Roughriders failed/were failing (can't remember exactly). Maybe, just maybe part of the problem was that they didn't actually talk about the CFL.

In North Macedonia, there’s a small industry of websites publishing misleading and inflammatory political articles targeted at US readers. Simon Oxenham meets a woman who worked there. http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20190528-i-was-a-macedonian-fake-news-writer?fbclid=IwAR0_oDrBMrQTFPQOnYbhK492wJu9sLheXem9JEZsGlpqMNofcS-tv7Z79pY

Which neglects the fact that racism in enforcement impacts people long before a case gets to court. It's pretty common knowledge that racial profiling alone will put you more at risk of getting in three-strike jeopardy. Meanwhile, a bunch of old white crooks are running the U.S. government, long past their third infractions. If three strikes was applied equally to white-collar crime, we might then begin to have a discussion on its merits.

A former co-worker of mine lived down the hall from Tyrone in the Colony Apartments. Said he was one of the absolute coolest, nicest guys he ever met.

I'm usually a little skeptical about highlight films, but this is impressive. The catches he makes and the way he competes for the ball has nothing to do with the level of competition and should translate well to the CFL if he can get open. Heck, it's not out of the realm of possibility that he could be opening things up for Matthews and Adams eventually.

As he's still currently an employee of the DOJ, I'm not expecting much, but this is news: Mueller to make statement about special counsel's report Washington (CNN)Special counsel Robert Mueller will make a statement about the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election at 11 a.m. ET Wednesday, the Justice Department said. The statement will be delivered amid political disputes about the findings of Mueller's investigation, particularly regarding whether President Donald Trump obstructed justice. It will be Mueller's first public comments about the investigation. The White House got a heads up Tuesday night that Mueller would likely deliver a statement on Wednesday about the Mueller investigation, according to a senior administration official, who added that the White House is going to wait until after his remarks to comment. https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/29/politics/robert-mueller-special-counsel-investigation/index.html

Agree, but I would substitute "rumours" with "misinformation".

Mitch McConnel has no shame. His cynicism towards politics and democracy is extremely damaging and shows that it may be more important to flip the Senate than to flip the White House, although I'm totally for that, too. McConnell says he would help Trump fill a Supreme Court vacancy in 2020 — after blocking Obama in 2016 "When President Barack Obama nominated Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court in 2016, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) refused to consider him, blocking the nominee until after the year’s presidential election. He said then that “the American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice.” The tactic cost Garland his spot on the court. With his party now in the White House, McConnell said Tuesday he would try to push through any nomination that President Trump might make to the high court — even if it comes during an election year. Some saw that stance, which McConnell has signaled before, as hypocritical." https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/05/29/mcconnell-says-he-would-fill-supreme-court-vacancy/?utm_term=.29d8a83c2c58

I have not seen any scurrying and Comey and Brennan have both said that oversight of their agencies was always welcome. The very valid concern is that even though an investigation will find that procedures were followed correctly during the Trump investigation, Barr will not allow the full findings to reach Congress or the American public. It's a valid concern based on the Mueller investigation. Like he did with the Mueller investigation, he will cherry-pick and misrepresent the content of any investigation in order to protect the orange menace. You just have to watch the conduct of any Republican Senator or Congressman over the last 3 years to realize that they have zero interest in finding any actual truth.

Whales Seen In Hundreds Off NYC Shores, Drawn By Cleaner Waters Whale sightings in New York City waters have jumped from 5 to 272 since 2010. NEW YORK, NY – Staggering numbers of whales are being sighted off New York City shores as vastly cleaner waters have caused a 540% increase in the numbers of the massive mammals in just eight years. Experts at the Rockaway-based non profit Gotham Whale started tracking sightings in the area in 2010 – counting just five. Last year, they spotted an awe-inspring 272, almost all humpbacks. The rise is monumental and points to the success of environmental policies such as the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammal Protection Act, Gotham Whale's founder said. https://patch.com/new-york/new-york-city/whales-seen-hundreds-nyc-shores-drawn-cleaner-waters

And also Texas: Texas secretary of state resigns after leading botched voter purge that questioned the citizenship of almost 100,000 people "Texas’s acting secretary of state, David Whitley (R), resigned Monday just months after leading the botched voter purge of nearly 100,000 suspected noncitizens that erroneously also targeted U.S. citizens, efforts that drew rebukes from a federal judge and numerous voter rights groups." "He revealed the investigation in January, causing unsupported fears of rampant voter fraud while emboldening Republican politicians who had made similar voter fraud claims — including President Trump. Whitley’s office had claimed that, of 95,000 suspected noncitizens, 58,000 had voted in at least one Texas election over the last 18 years. Letters sent to all those suspected noncitizens threatened to disenfranchise them unless they proved their citizenship within 30 days. But there was a problem: Nearly a quarter of those identified as possible noncitizens were actually naturalized citizens ― a realization the secretary of state’s office made just four days after its initial announcement. Numerous voting rights groups sued on behalf of threatened eligible voters, in three separate federal lawsuits, and Congress opened an investigation into the alleged voter suppression efforts. In February, a federal judge blocked Texas from carrying out its “ham-handed” and “threatening” voter purge effort, saying there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud. The letters sent by the secretary of state’s office to thousands of eligible voters threatening to cancel their registration, U.S. District Judge Fred Biery wrote, “exemplifies the power of government to strike fear and anxiety and to intimidate the least powerful among us.” He placed the blame squarely on Whitley’s shoulders, encouraging him to fix the problems while referencing a kindergarten-friendly lesson. “The Court further finds and concludes the Secretary of State, though perhaps unintentionally, created this mess,” Biery wrote in his Feb. 27 order. “As Robert Fulghum taught in ‘All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten,’ ‘always put things back where we found them and clean up our own messes.’” https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/05/28/texas-secretary-state-resigns-after-leading-botched-voter-purge-that-questioned-citizenship-almost-people/?utm_term=.99032c51c616

This makes no sense. You say the Democrats never say they want open borders, but then you say they want to abolish every measure. If you abolish every measure, there would be no point in curtailing or weakening them. And how do you know they want to do this if they never say it? It's just a whole bunch of words strung together that somehow find a way to contradict themselves. The false claim that illegal immigrants are voting is overtly racist, so that shoe fits.

It didn't take Ontario long to figure it out, but I still shake my head that they elected the slimeball. Doug Ford Is Less Popular Than Kathleen Wynne Was When She Lost Power, Poll Suggests The premier’s PC party would come in third place if an election was held today. "TORONTO — Ontario Premier Doug Ford is already less popular than former premier Kathleen Wynne was at the end of her time in office, new research suggests. Ford has a net favourability of -53.5 per cent, meaning more poll respondents dislike the premier than like him. Almost 20 per cent of the 996 Ontario residents polled by Mainstreet Researchsaid they have a favourable view of Ford, while 73 per cent said they have an unfavourable opinion of him. In April 2018, Wynne’s net favourability was -35.3 percent." "If an election were held today, nearly 40 per cent of Ontarians would vote Liberal, the poll found. The NDP is in second place with 24 per cent support and Ford’s ruling Progressive Conservatives are in third place with 22 per cent, a 10 percentage-point drop since April." https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/ford-less-popular-than-wynne-poll_ca_5ce80fb2e4b0a2f9f28e6068?ncid=tweetlnkcahpmg00000002

Republicans somehow equate criticisms of ICE and child detention camps as a recommendation to tear down borders. It's almost like they don't understand the issue.

Trump is bad Define late term abortions because you keep using that phrase and I'm not sure you know what it means that phrase is filler The Democratic Party is not advocating for open borders Global free trade is a neo-liberal philosophy which finds favour in Conservative and Liberal parties and therefore the Republican and Democratic parties. When tax rates are cut to unsustainably low rates, a government will find that it cannot provide services (see Kansas and Oklahoma) and therefore raising taxes is the prudent thing to do. But hey, if giving tax breaks to the 1% to generate the deepest debt in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD is your kind of good times.....

As usual, flat out misinformation with no context. If you can name a single democrat who actually endorsed him, please name them. You know who did endorse him? Steven Bannon. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/michael-avenatti-hails-2020-endorsement-from-steve-bannon "Liberal" commentators I follow unanimously saw his presidential aspirations as self-serving and an attention grab and were able to separate that story from the real story, but they also had to recognize that a guy who could garner so much attention wasn't any less credible a candidate than a morally and financially bankrupt former reality-tv star who was now president. The Stormy Daniels story was not only significant given the attention historically given to Presidential sex scandals (see Bill Clinton), but it was also true. It also involved the breaking of campaign finance law and was a steaming pile of lies intertwined with lies on the part of Trump and Cohen. Any president before Trump would have resigned over this, so the media attention was not inappropriate. As for the shoulda-woulda scrutiny you claim should have been applied, please point to any interview with any lawyer representing a client that scrutinizes the lawyer rather than discussing the case? It just doesn't happen. When you only book a guest for 3-5 minutes, you only have time to talk about the relevant story. I don't see any reputable news source claiming they're victims over this. They cover the stories as they unfold. Note that CNN and MSNBC were quicker to break the stories over Avanatti's arrests and lawsuits than anyone else. You wouldn't see Faux News cover a similar story on Jeanine Pirro if and when that time comes.

Again, no such thing as post-birth abortions. That is technically impossible. Secondly, the use of the word "baby" is misapplied in this particular medical discussion. What you mean is "fetus". Thirdly, this is nothing more than an overt effort to overturn Roe v Wade: “This bill is about challenging Roe v. Wade and protecting the lives of the unborn because an unborn baby is a person who deserves love and protection,” Alabama state Rep. Terri Collins (R), the sponsor of the bill, said after the vote Tuesday night. “I have prayed my way through this bill. This is the way we get where we want to get eventually.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/05/15/gops-frontal-assault-roe-v-wade-shows-they-understand-power/?utm_term=.3e513421c65e
