Half of Conservatives polled would rather not exercise their democratic right than vote for another party.
-
"Also notable is the dramatic correlation between Conservative support and disinformation, a link that is even stronger among People’s Party supporters. Among the fully informed (i.e., those who score 0 on our disinformation index), Conservative support sits at just 12 per cent. Among the least informed cohort, Conservative support soars to 68 per cent. Likewise, People’s Party support rises from literally 0 per cent to 12 per cent along the disinformation spectrum." https://www.ekospolitics.com/index.php/2023/03/polarized-gridlock/ (continued:) Description of disinformation index: For this research, we tested five separate indicators of disinformation and we have constructed a disinformation index, a 15-point scale that measures how strongly respondents have bought into four pieces of disinformation and how strongly they reject one piece of correct information: Vaccine-related deaths are being concealed from the public; COVID-19 vaccines can cause infertility; COVID-19 vaccines can alter a patient’s DNA; Inflation is much higher in Canada than in the United States; and Climate change is caused by greenhouse gas emissions. The index is constructed as follows: A respondent receives three points for every statement they rate as completely true (or completely false in the case of greenhouse gases causing climate change); A respondent receives two points for every statement they rate as mostly true (or mostly false in the case of greenhouse gases causing climate change); and A respondents receives one point for every statement they skip (in other words, every statement they are unable to correctly categorize as true or false); respondents do not receive a point for skipping the statement on inflation. Methodology: This survey was conducted using EKOS’ unique, hybrid online/telephone research panel, Probit. Our panel offers exhaustive coverage of the Canadian population (i.e., Internet, phone, cell phone), random recruitment (in other words, participants are recruited randomly, they do not opt themselves into our panel), and equal probability sampling. All respondents to our panel are recruited by telephone using random digit dialling and are confirmed by live interviewers. Unlike opt-in online panels, Probit supports margin of error estimates.

Just going to drop this here for no apparent reason.

In case there is any doubt, this guy is chiming in on twitter about the "incident". He conveniently leaves his title (Issues Management Specialist for the the current PC government) out of his twitter profile.

Your brain will thank you if you stop reading the National Post.

I don't believe even you believe what you are trying to say here.

Khan man?

This is all about painting Kinew as violent.

On May 26, GoodLocal, which is co-owned by Fort Whyte MLA Obby Khan, sent a letter to vendors saying it could no longer afford to store products for free at its warehouse, which would be relocated immediately. The e-commerce site was also taken offline for redevelopment. In December 2020, GoodLocal received a $500,000 grant to expand its warehouse, delivery services and website and hire a full-time marketing consultant to promote the platform, which had launched a month prior. The money flowed through the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce to GoodLocal. The chamber was tasked by the provincial government to run its COVID-19 pandemic relief program while many retailers were shuttered due to public health orders. Roughly 10 months later, Khan endorsed Heather Stefanson in her successful bid to become leader of the PC party. In January, he announced his candidacy for the Tory nomination in the Fort Whyte byelection. He was elected in a tight race in March. The Tories have since distanced themselves from the pandemic relief program, saying the chamber selected GoodLocal as the e-commerce platform of choice and awarded the contract to Khan’s business despite the province signing a contract that identified GoodLocal as the funding recipient. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2022/05/30/ndp-questions-grant-as-biz-downsizes

2023 CFL Draft Discussion
Wideleft replied to Super Duper Negatron's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Pro sports is a different ball of wax. A lot of times, the kids of pros just know from their parents' experiences what it takes to make it to the show. They are also financially able to fund "what it takes". Name recognition doesn't hurt, but there definitely are other factors. -
All the starters have been throwing too many pitches so far.
-
Starters are struggling (except for Gausman) and I don't see that being a long-term problem. This team is fun to watch.
-
Yeah, baby!!!

Any thinking human would think that 18,000 cows in one holding pen is beyond inhumane. It was a disgusting situation before the fire.

Incidental catches have always been a thing in fishing. Some of those exhausted sows won't make it through a catch and release - never mind poaching.
-
We don't have nearly enough Conservation Officers to check catches and I don't like the idea of unnecessarily stressing spawning walleye. Walleye are not really aggressive feeders during spawn, but they can be caught. Shame to accidentally kill a female when they each can carry thousands of eggs. Just another rule change to cater to the bearded, mirror-sunglass wearing crowd. Coldwater burbot/mariah is amazing - as hard as that is to believe. Tastes like lobster when you dip it in melted butter.

"The mine has 33 employees and uses nearly 10 times as much electricity as all the homes in the 16,000-person town (Jamestown, ND). It is one of three mines in the state that together consume nearly as much power as every home in North Dakota."

As a fellow long-suffering Flyers fan, I concur with his reasoning as well.

Resigned from caucus - not his seat. And he voted for the public inquiry. I'm a strong believer in journalism and the press, but not naive enough to realize that some (looking at you Post Media) are troublesome. It says a lot to me that not even Post Media is jumping all over this.

Getting into Tubi and rediscovered this fantastic British comedy (Outnumbered).

Nope, nope, nope. The Agencies have not confirmed anything as far as I've read (and I could be wrong at this second). The sources are unnamed "whistleblowers". Again, the stated motivation to delay the Michaels' release makes zero sense, but I'm more than willing to follow the evidence as it builds/crumbles. So far, this is not passing the smell test for me. Keep in mind, just because it was ran past the Global lawyers prior to publishing, they often advise on wording rather than the actual veracity of the story.

Working with another leader to bring down a government is much different than working with another leader to govern. There's a world of difference between Trudeau/Singh and Harper/Layton.

If you're the kind of guy (not looking at anyone) who supports runaway corporate profits, strike-breaking, polluting etc. it might not be that hard

Work/life balance, baby!
