  1. Why should I as a Manitoban who pays a provincial sales tax be happy for Alberta to get additional no-strings attached health care funding when they refuse to raise their own funds through taxation? Why should I be happy for Ontario to get no-strings attached health care funding when Ford disappeared $4.5 billion in COVID funding? Why shouldn't we all expect our provinces to be more accountable with their healthcare dollars? Who else is going to hold them accountable?

  3. So what do you charge Biden with?
  4. Also consider that Angus Reid polls are generally favorable to the Conservatives.
  5. The more you know: "People with repeated COVID-19 infections are twice as likely to die and three times as likely to be hospitalized compared to those only infected once, according to the report published online recently in the journal Nature Medicine." https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/health-effects-increase-with-repeated-covid-19-infections/ar-AA1467g1

  8. So you think Community Wellness Minister Sarah Guillemard, with no higher education or relevant work experience (if any) is doing so great because of "who she is"? https://www.brandonsun.com/local/2022/12/10/b-c-government-injects-truth-into-manitoba-officials-account-of-drug-site-visit As for your "no thanks on the bolded", you actually have a problem with someone with a Masters in Public Administration being a member of government?
  9. Also known as outerwear diapers.
  10. You will get no argument from me that the Manitoba government also panders to its rural base, knowing full well that there are more people in downtown Toronto that fully support more gun control measures than live beyond our perimeter.
  11. That's a succession plan problem. There aren't too many jobs with so much responsibility like teaching that we should expect young graduates to just step in and succeed.

  13. Seasonal entry! The best (IMHO) SNL Christmas sketch you won't see on the annual special, because it never made the show. This is the dress rehearsal:
  14. The main factor that no one is talking about in the Kirkfield Park bye-election is that not a single poll was conducted. The ABC vote was pure guesswork. I asked canvassers point-blank what the internal polls were saying and no one would answer. The NDP made a big mistake in not commissioning a poll that would have provided direction for voters who weren't sure about the best ABC option or to motivate the apathetic ABC voters to get out and vote.
  15. Then so be it. Some unions are already endorsing non-NDP candidates at the municipal, provincial and federal levels.
  16. Nah. This is the same kind of generalization as "they're all crooks" which further leads to voter apathy.
  17. I voted in the bye-election yesterday. Both the NDP and Liberals ran a very strong ground game. Even Lamont came to my door with Rhonda Nichol. Oxenham came to my door as well and each had follow up door knockers and phone calls. The Liberal/NDP split was something I strongly suspected was going to happen. Just my opinion, but I think if Nichol was the NDP candidate, she would have won by 5 points. I told canvassers that I would like their leaders to seriously consider a merge as I neglected to mention this to Lamont during our 20 minute conversation. We had zero Klein signs on our entire bay.
  18. Head over here and you tell me you can't find enough for a much better cabinet than we have now (I know - low bar). 19. I don't think you read your own link. Just off the top, it assigns all anarchists to the far-left, which totally ignores the Boogaloo Boys. It suggests that Bill Barr designating certain cities as "anarchist jurisdictions" is a legitimate (and not political) action. But it does have some facts: "By certain metrics, such as human casualties and frequency of attacks, the violence committed by AVE actors in the past decade pales in comparison to other categories of violent extremists" But then: "Nevertheless, this dynamic is subject to change, 21 and ongoing trends in American society could lead to increased frequency and lethality of AVE attacks." Do I have to explain to you that this is mere speculation? It cites 7 incidents between 2015-2019 and again lumps anarchists in with the far left without support. One example is a couple that corresponded with far-right terrorist Dylan Roof. Another incident is possession of a machine gun, but no plan to use it is cited. A third incident mentions counter-protesting against a far-right group in Berkeley. And then you get this gem: "Trend 3: Polarization in the United States may escalate lethality and frequency of AVE-related terrorism". This is a both sides problem - not a far-left problem - and again - purely speculative. This paper is falling apart.... It keeps lumping anarchists and racially/ethnically motivated groups in with the far left.....aaargggghhhhh! Please vet what you post.
