Really astute comment. The thing that makes MBT's oddness off-putting is that he seems to completely lack a sense of humour - at least in interviews. The Bill Lee's and Bernie Parent's were different, but also crazy funny. Or Kyrie Wilson to chase him down on a crossing pattern.

It's a very Canadian trait to crap on Canadians who have made good. Rourke has nothing to do with the hype machine and by all accounts is a grounded, classy athlete (also Canadian traits). I really don't understand the hate. He was a good story in a league that needs good stories. -

BC has 15 National FA's. Not really sure how that compares with other teams, but as mentioned, they have 6 OL now FA and 4 are Nationals. Menard, Lokombo and Sean Whyte are other notables. https://3downnation.com/2022/11/15/bryan-burnham-headlines-b-c-lions-free-agent-list/ -

How many current Bombers are Canadians who played college ball South of the border? I don't think we'd call them generic American recruits. I think your hate for Rourke is a little strong today. He's gone! Bad man gone! -

I want a billion dollars and to wake up next to Jessica Chastain each morning. It's not always about choices determining outcomes. -
Same. Nothing scarier than a red-hot gunslinger and you never know which MBT is going to show up. For all the crap the guy takes, he throws for yards. I actually like that he's an oddball. Has the personality of a 70's NHL goaltender. Motivated Andrew Harris concerns me too, but I don't think any team can have a red hot gunslinger AND a beast-mode runningback in the same game.

I'm not convinced there is a spot for Fajardo in the CFL next year unless he swallows a LOT of pride and takes a massive pay cut. He wants to be "the guy", but he's not good enough - I think he's even delusional enough to believe he IS "the guy". He'll have to accept that if he wants to continue, he'll only see 4th quarter action when the outcome of a game is no longer in doubt. He'll also have to accept the salary that allows that. -

SMS heck then? They can't afford all those receivers if their QB budget triples/quadruples. If Menard or Betts (or both) are FA, they are going to be some expensive Canadian DE's to re-sign. -

I'll quote David Bouchard every time the Bombers host a game in November: Still you're not from the prairie and yet you know cold..you say you've been cold? Do you know what to do to relieve so much pain Of burning from deep down that drives you insane? Your ears and your hands right into your toes A child who's been cold on the prairie will know Of all of those memories we share when we're old None are more clear then that hard bitter cold You'll not find among us a soul who can say "I've conquered the wind on a cold winter's day" If you're not from the prairie you don't know the cold you've -

Courtesy Ed Tait: 5 NOTABLE NUMBERS FROM BOMBERS VS. LIONS 148.3: QB efficiency rating for Collaros in his five quarters of work against the Lions this year. Collaros played all of game one and went 23-of-30 for 288 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions, dressed but did not play in the second matchup and then went 4-of-5 for 68 yards and two TDs in the first quarter of the final game. A perfect rating, FYI, is 158.3 14-283-4: Dalton Schoen’s receiving totals in three games vs. the Lions – 14 receptions for 283 yards and four touchdowns. Schoen had at least 82 yards in each game, got a touchdown in each and averaged 20.2 yards per catch vs. B.C. 379: Yards rushing by the Blue Bombers in the three games vs. B.C. Winnipeg rushed for 141 yards in the first game, 74 in the second and 164 in the third. The 164-yard total was the highest rushing game for the Blue Bombers of the season while the 141 in the July win ranked as the club’s third-highest ground total. 41.1: The Lions finished second to the Blue Bombers in the CFL this year in second-down conversion rate at 50.3 (Winnipeg was 56.2). But in the three games against the Blue Bombers, they were just 6-of-16 (37.5%), 5-of-16 (31.3%) and 12-of-24 (50%). 66/36/31: In the one game this year in which both teams were healthy, and both had something at stake – the first meeting of the year – the Blue Bombers built a 21-0 lead before Nathan Rourke and his receiving corps found some traction. Rourke threw for TDs of 66, 36 and 31 yards – to Josh Pearson and twice to Dominique Rhymes – in what was a 43-22 Winnipeg victory. -
We bought the box set. So great to watch it again. Don't really notice the different songs (due to copyright issues) that much either.

-5 isn't that cold if you've had a few weeks to get used to it. Abrupt changes in temperature are a shock to the system, starting with the toes and fingertips which are pretty important components of most football players. -

From the WaPo: Snowfall could hinder in-person vote in Nevada’s Republican strongholds Return to menu By Robert Klemko Counties north and west of Las Vegas — where Republican allegiances are strongest in Nevada — are being blanketed with snowfall and freezing rain Tuesday. After some Republicans in the state encouraged supporters to shun voting by mail in favor of voting on Election Day as a means of ensuring their votes are counted, several candidates changed their tune in recent days, urging early voting in advance of the storm. Research is mixed on whether and how bad weather affects voter turnouts.
