  1. Then it captured the novel very, very well. Haven't read the book since my school days, but I also remember that I got used to the violence and horror depicted in the latter stages of the story and thought that probably added to its realism. This is definitely on my watchlist.
  2. I'm not optimistic, but at least the Dems crushed it in early voting.
  3. Agree on K/P. I think the receiving corps are a wash (especially if Lucky can play). The DL and LB's are pretty even as well - very impressed with the Canadian DE's. I can't believe the writer thinks B.C.'s D-backfield is better, but I guess he felt he had to throw the Lions a bone.
  4. The guy plays for the Lions and his name sounds like "roar". I got nothing....
  5. Does BC have even one DB who has the capability to look back for the throw while covering? I saw no evidence of this yesterday.
  6. A huge part of Trump's followers are evangelicals. You know - those people who give money they don't have to charlatans who already own 2 or more private jets.
  7. Thanks! Meant to look that up today.
  8. The attitude that gets 37% of Winnipeggers to the Municipal polls and 43.5% of Ontario voters to the provincial polls. And Palliser chickened out on wage freeze legislation and now the Conservatives are doling out millions in back pay.
  9. Sooo.... is the Grey Cup half-time show going to end up being Dan Clark playing the bongoes?
  10. Enough time to watch the last minute of a basketball game!
  11. Didn't know who Katie Pruitt was until I saw her open for The Milk Carton Kids last night. Absolutely blown away by her voice and guitar virtuosity. She won't be a secret for long.
  12. If this conversation was happening at my kitchen table, I would have walked out of the house hours ago. I'm not sure if it's more insane than inane, but I don't want to start a whole new conversation related to it.
  13. It's better than most!
  14. Carrying on the Brendan Gleeson love-fest... Not perfect, but pretty good.
  15. aaaaand a google search of that quote takes me to an anti-vax, climate denying, pro-Putin twitter account.....
  16. Great quote, but the important question is, "Who do you think "they" are?" The left has been saying this for decades and yet we hear this as mainstream right-wing rhetoric now. The problem is, the right does everything in it's power to preserve the status quo, while talking out of the other side of their mouths to attract the low-information vote.
  17. The problem Gillingham will face if and when he runs for PC leadership is that he is far too moderate and centrist for most of the conservative base. Just look at the trend of the politically right and imagine what it will look like in 4 years.
  18. Jesus. WashingtonCNN — Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was attacked with a hammer at the couple’s home in San Francisco by a male assailant early Friday morning, law enforcement sources tell CNN. Pelosi, 82, is expected to make a full recovery, the Democratic speaker’s office said in a statement. Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Nancy Pelosi, said the assailant is in custody and a motive is being investigated. The speaker was in Washington at the time of the attack, a spokesperson said. The Pelosis have been married since 1963 and have five children. This story is breaking and will be updated. https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/28/politics/paul-pelosi-attack/index.html
  19. My mistake. For some reason I misread "satellites" as "airliners".
