  1. ESPN2 was showing cornhole instead of the Bombers @ Montreal game when I was down in the States. At least they showed the Bomber/Stamps.
  2. I used to kick a football over the swingset in the farm yard. Good times.
  3. Let's just say they can't take a joke.
  4. Having no shame is different than being embarassment-proof. As Hillary said, he can be baited with a tweet. He's extremely insecure.
  5. He's got thinner skin than a leopard frog.
  6. The humiliation angle I get, but Trump would end up more humiliated than anyone or any political system.
  7. To impress who? That's like winning 4th in the 3rd event at the Winnipegosis Farmer's Bonspiel.
  8. Not a hater, but that last second attempt was inexcusable at this level. I can totally understand hitting the upright in OT.
  9. This really begs the question - do you use dictation software?
  10. Putin has already used him and spit him out. Not sure why people think Putin would want him in Russia.
  11. While I'm not the biggest JT fan, I can't argue that this government has at least tried to do the right things for people who need it most (cheaper daycare, CERB, climate change, FN water supply etc.). He is simply not a regressive or destructive force, which is what most people want. At the very least, this government has shown a steady hand on the "wheel" in extraordinarily unsteady times. Progressive policies take a lot longer to implement than regressive ones. It's easier to cut and destroy than it is to build. He's also still very young as far as PM's go. With that in mind, I'm not sure I understand the clamber to get rid of him when the Libs pretty much own the East (federally) and provincial politics (save Ontario) is showing fatigue for Conservatives. PP and Singh are not realistic alternatives and these next 3 years will be the closest Singh ever gets to a having a say in this country. Would not be surprised at all if the next election is not called early.
  12. He's not wrong about that kick though. Didn't appear to even make it half way through the end zone. Again - I'm just talking about that specific kick.
  13. I don't want Legs cut and I even forgive the miss in OT. That being said, that effort to win the game was inexcusable. If you can avg 60 yards on kickoffs, all you have to do is not hit the upright to win. Don't care about the bad snap - you have to be mentally prepared to know what you have to do and I hope all concerned with that play learn from it and become better and tougher for it. The Bombers have already won some games somewhat dubiously this year. This could have easily been another one.
  14. But not as effective as that 'stache.
  15. You're predicting 8 field goals and a punt single for the Als? Bombers don't give up touchdowns.
  16. Been away on a family road trip for the last 3 weeks, but watched the last 3 games on PVR. Just want to point out that Winston Rose is getting better each week. Most impressed by his sure tackling which is pretty amazing for a slight guy. Looking like his all-star self again.
  17. I was at that game and it seemed then that the Bombers always lost when I attended. We lost 44-21. Trevor Harris went 29/39 for 361. Powell rushed for over 100 and Ellingson caught 8 for 100 yds. August 17, 2018. https://www.footballdb.com/games/boxscore/ottawa-redblacks-vs-winnipeg-blue-bombers-2018081701
  18. Play by play Accuracy Get the players' names right Get the penalty calls right Describe what the radio or TV audience cannot see or hear (wind, crowd noise etc) Attentiveness/Focus Describe the play as it happens. Don't ignore an active play. Skill & knowledge Has a strong vocabulary so they don't need to describe a similar play the same way twice. Ability to control the broadcast. Skillfully throws to the colour commentator and is willing to cut them off when a new play begins. Ability to perform a concise interview. Impartiality *Just think about what made Bob Irving great. Colour commentary Knowledge of the game Ability to break down a play Explain why it did or didn't work Storytelling ability Enthusiasm for the game Intelligence Don't have to be Einstein, but should have a decent grasp of the language. Discipline Know when to shut up. Ability to tell a tale relevant to a current game situation Authenticity Feel free to add.
  19. He did the job for far too long to be as bad as he was. I'll never understand how he kept getting the prime gigs.
  20. You can't compare a play by play announcer (Black) with a colour commentator (Dunigan/Suitor). They have totally different roles and duties.
  21. Not the same at all. Black was not interested in actually doing play by play which was his g*d damned job! Black also had a poor vocabulary which led him to develop some really annoying nicknames and terms. Suitor's lack of personality means he has to resort to repeating himself. It's also super obvious when he's referring to his minimally prepped information. It might just be me, but also find Suitor to consistently speak from a place of cynicism, which really isn't helpful when trying to sell the game. I also find him inauthentic. Dunigan brings enthusiasm and knowledge delivered in a hodgepodge way, but he has the personality and authenticity to pull it off.
  22. I think Reilly could have become a broadcast legend if he chose to or was offered the opportunity. Super well-spoken and even keel.
  23. You would need to give him 6-10 feet of space to pull that off in the corner of the end zone. Doesn't sound advisable on a one on one.
