  1. I had to rewind the the Hansen tackle 15 times in order to figure out where he came from. As a bonus, I watched the tackle 15 times.
  2. If Hamilton can't get the short/quick passing game going, they are absolutely doomed.
  3. I was disappointed that CFL Wired didn't offer any new camera angles. Sometimes you see stuff that isn't shown on the broadcast.
  4. That's who is quoted in the article! "Carvalho and Danny Boyko, AJ’s father, both said Gainey threw the ball with enough force to cause an injury." Carvalho even reported it to the Bombers. "After the game, Carvalho complained to the Bombers and the team notified the CFL, as per league protocol. Late Thursday, the CFL said it would look into the complaint. The Roughriders didn’t respond to the Free Press."
  5. And unlike Fajardo, Gainey threw low.
  6. "Early in the first quarter, Roughriders defensive back Ed Gainey hurled a football into the stands at a pair of heckling Bombers fans, said complainant Tony Carvalho. Gainey’s throw was low and to the right, nearly striking 17-year-old AJ Boyko, Carvalho said. AJ, a former Make-A-Wish Foundation recipient who suffers from a congenital heart defect, was caught unaware. Carvalho intercepted the ball inches from his face, AJ said. "(The football) was already frozen — completely blown up. It was rock hard. And he winded up and rifled it as a CFL player, like, professional level," AJ said. "It probably would’ve broken my nose." Carvalho and Danny Boyko, AJ’s father, both said Gainey threw the ball with enough force to cause an injury. "He’s a professional football player. To me, that’s like a boxer throwing a punch," Boyko said. Carvalho and his friend Brad Buckoski were the intended targets of the ball. The season ticket holders wear wrestling gear and call themselves the Legion of Blue. They often heckle opposing teams but have never seen a player react in anger, Carvalho said. Moments before the ball was thrown, Carvalho and Buckoski were taunting Gainey and fellow Roughrider Loucheiz Purifoy with a Snickers bar and repeating a phrase that sounded like "you’re not you when you’re hungry," Boyko said. The Snickers bar was in reference to a recent disturbance in a Regina restaurant in which Purifoy was detained by the Regina Police Service, Carvalho said."
  7. I'm the kind of guy who gets his former manager fired after being laid off, so maybe it is a question of channeling your anger properly. If true, F him, but also - I wouldn't be spreading rumours about dark stuff like that if I didn't know for sure.
  8. I don't know too many fired or laid off employees who speak well of their former orgnanizations. Could be that Leggett was a human, too.
  9. To be clear - that was for 2019. They haven't made Sunday's picks yet.
  10. For posterity's sake, here were the 2019 semi-final and Division Final picks:
  11. Pat Steinberg was the only one of the 6 writers to pick the Bombers in the 2019 Grey Cup. https://www.cfl.ca/2019/11/23/prediction-time-cfl-ca-writers-make-107th-grey-cup-picks/
  12. Normand has played 89 games in the league and all 14 this year with the Als. Pretty much a special teamer, but a decent pick by the Bombers at the time. https://en.montrealalouettes.com/players/christophe-normand/161497/
  13. I know it's no fun, but just goes to show that any response on the day of a trade other than "let's just wait and see" is probably just whistling in the wind. Same can be said about the draft.
  14. For those wondering about the draft picks in the Neufeld/Hall trade: Sask took DL Dylan Ainsworth with the 2014 2nd round pick we gave. He was primarily a special teamer and appears to have retired in 2017 due to illness in his family. Wpg took RB Christophe Normand with the 2015 4th round pick we got back. The Bombers did end up getting a 2nd round pick in 2014, selecting Jesse Briggs at 17th overall. They traded their 20th (which Sask used to pick Kicker, Johnny Mark) and 26th (which Sask used to pick WR Kristopher Bastien) for the 17th.
  15. An interesting typo? in the Free Press today referencing O'Shea's comments. (Yes, I can be immature). "There are a lot of fond memories here," O'Shea said. "And then there was a lot of boobs. The joke is, there might be a few D cells coming my way, as I'm standing there. We'll see."
  16. Bailey's catch immediately came to mind after the William's "catch". Unbelievable. Command centre also blew an obvious PI in the East final.
  17. It's not like we were playing against Doug Flutie. At worst, we end up with a safety.
  18. You never really can say, but 21-0 by the end of the 1st quarter is not out of the question.
  19. True. Maybe they need to divide the website into "Dunk" and "Non-Dunk" sections.
  20. It's a lot harder to put your thumb on the scale when fans can see your thumb - and your face.
  21. Jaysus! 3Down has become something to avoid, unless you're the kind who likes to venture into antivaxx groups for entertainment. That's too bad, because the CFL needs more eyeballs and stories. Just not like this.
  22. And for the CFL to look the other way when they obliterate the salary cap. To be fair, they gave it to Hamilton again due to the uncertainty about COVID. There was never a plan to expand the stadium with temp bleachers this year because of that.
  23. Faj needs permanently strained obliques. I rewatched the '19 Division Final and he looked way better in that game than at any time this season.
