  1. What if, the CFL says to the Bombers we want you to sacrifice one of your home games to play in another TD Atlantic next season & they only get 10,000 to the game.? How do the Bombers get back the money they'd lose by sacrificing a home game where anywhere from 28-30,000 would have shown up? Not just lost ticket revenue but lost parking, merch & concession sales? I'm hoping that never happens but you can't just have the Argos playing in the Maritimes every year. The CFL would have to be prepared to adequately compensate any team for lost revenues to get them to give up a home date. But we've been told over & over the league HO is broke. So, I just don't know how it would be done. Hoping the Bombers say no, if asked.
  2. Fans are high on Brown. I'm concerned if Collaros goes down as we haven't really seen enough to know if he is ready to step in as the starter. Big question mark. Different game this year from last. No cheap shot artists or thugs on the Riders anymore. I like their team a lot more this year. No Marino or Williams.
  3. He looked good on that drive but it is garbage time. Maybe it's time for CFL teams to let the young guys play instead of the retreaded old guys who need wheelchairs to get home after every game.
  4. I'm a few minutes behind... Dolegala to Emilus. Mitchell couldn't make that throw.
  5. Fine looks like he can play in this league. Unlike Cornelius in Edmonton who keeps getting trotted out by Chris Jones. What is he? Four & twenty four?
  6. He's an aeronautical engineer. The guy can be an astronaut or work for NASA. I don't think figuring out motion & the 12th man will be a problem for him. Staying healthy & longevity will.
  7. My concern is how can we expand to ten teams when the supply of playable & starting Canadians is limited & so razor thin? If we lose two Canadians per team then some teams will be screwed. Think if we lost just one of our Canadians on the OL how it would hurt us. It would devastate Edmonton.
  8. The problem is Matthew Schilz is injured. Of any qb on their roster this guy can play. I think they've been so busy trying to fit Mitchell into the position that they ovberlooked that their future qb may already be on the roster.
  9. His long footballs just float up there. He can't throw into any tight windows as he has no velocity. They get picked off. He really, really, really should retire.
  10. Unbelievable, all of you. Quit arguing over something so ridiculous.
  11. I don't think you need to be concerned about Mitchell playing in the wind or cold. I think he'll come to the realization it's time to retire after suffering this injury. So much for Steinhauer protecting his qb from harm
  12. The Eagles were the biggest band in the world in 1977. Bigger than Fleetwood Mac who had released their album, Rumours. Maybe the Bee Gee's Saturday Night Fever was bigger but if it was not by much. Meisner couldn't handle the travelling, pressure of touring, the parties as well as the drugs & alcohol.
  13. Crum took some hellacious shots tonite. Those hits accumulate & he'll start feeling them as it's only July. Crum doesn't run smart. He runs with abandon putting his body on the line. He'll do it once too often & get injured. At least slide instead of absorbing those hits. Coaches should be telling him to go down.
  14. Steinhauer should be fired. What a stupid call to put Mitchell back in at that point.
  15. Yep. He was sure shown the door when Prukop came back. There's that misplaced O'Shea loyalty again. Yeah, Crum's wild running style will get him destroyed. Ottawa fans better enjoy him while they can.
  16. Crum will play until he gets hurt & he will with that Damn The Torpedoes running style the rookie is using. We've all seen this song & dance before from other rookie qbs. He can run for sure but he still needs to play a style of game that protects him as much as he can from getting injured.
  17. When the Eagles were at their peak, Meisner was my favourite Eagle. As said, his distinct voice made the harmonies of the band unique with a sound totally of their own. When he left, that distinct sound was gone. Timothy B Schmidt who replaced him could never sing the way Randy could. Meisner left after Hotel California was released in 1976 as he wasn't getting along with an increasingly autocratic Glenn Frey who felt it was his duty to be the de facto, "Leader Of The Band". As well as Meisner's hatred of the constant touring. During the Hotel California tour, Meisner was having trouble with his voice hitting the high notes of Take It To The Limit. He would become nervous & refuse to sing the song which raised the ire of Frey who angrily demanded that Meisner do the song. Frey would mock Meisner & call him names like "Coward" to make him angry enough to sing the song just to spite him. During one argument backstage, Frey & Meisner had to be separated as they were about to come to blows. Meisner eventually got so fed up with the grind that he left the band & was replaced by Schmidt. To me, losing Meisner was a huge blow to the Eagles & Schmidt never could measure up. Meisner was irreplaceable.
  18. If the Ti Cats cut Davis he gets nothing as no CFL contract is guaranteed. But teams like Hamilton paying these guys this kind of money with our limited salary cap kinda makes me want them to fail.
  19. Just look at how many teams Lemon's played for. I get the money part but if anyone has used the one year deals to get the best deal as he can, it's him. Also, he's a guy that moves around every season. Is he going to be a team guy doing the grunt work needed to stop the run or going after the big stats that pay the most money on his next contract? Like qb sacks. I guess short term he may have done fine but he isn't my first choice. .
  20. Nick Arbuckle was a good looking qb when he played for the Stamps. Then he decided to take his skills elsewhere where his weaknesses became apparent. To me, Arbuckle wasn't ready to be a starting qb & his moves in free agency actually hurt his career. Being a starter means responsibilities that pile up every week preparing to play the next game. Maybe at some point, he'll start getting the Canadian game or maybe he won't. I believe all those expectations will start accumulating for Crumb as those expectations for him continue to grow. How he handles that growing pressure & expectations will tell the tale if he continues to improve or if he flattens out..
  21. Yep & that's what ate at me all game yesterday watching Pigrome play for Ottawa. We gave up a promising prospect for a has been journeyman.
  22. Or might not. We don't know.
  23. I agree with that assumption. The only thing is most here feel that Pigrome is young at around 24 or 25 years of age. He has a potential that may be unlimited. We all know Prukop is a 29 year old failed USFL qb whose ceiling has been attained. He'll never be more than he is right now. We don't know that about Piigrome.
  24. Being at the Stamps game yesterday gave me a chance to watch Pigrome do short yardage. Let me just say that he handled the situation quite well & watching him do it for the RedBlacks is something I'm not happy about. He was cut to make room for Prukop. Another wacky O'Shea personnel decision. He never gave the kid a chance. Even after what he did in the preseason.
