  1. From where? These are all Canadian interior linemen.
  2. This is 2016 all over again. We blitz but we get no pressure & our DB's are in chase mode.
  3. No, we've been punched in the nose too many times.
  4. There's the Dave Ritchie defense we know & love.
  5. Wait a minute... Last week people here were saying they had no problem with the defense... Now they do??
  6. It's happened before. More than a few times. Bombers won the GC in 1962 with an 11-5 record. In 63, missed the playoffs with a 7-9 record only to fall to 1-14-1 in 1964 (Yikes!!). The BC Lions won the 1964 Grey Cup with a record of 11-2-3. In 1965, the Lions missed the playoffs with a record of 6-9-1. The Calgary Stampeders won the GC in 1971 with a 9-6-1 record only to miss the playoffs the next season with a 6-10 record. The Toronto Argonauts played in the 71 GC with a 10-4 record. In 1972, they missed the playoffs & finished with a record of 3-11. There've been other collapses but you get the idea. Combination of bad decisions, age bad luck with the bounces going the other way for these teams & injuries to key personnel. Sorta like the way the season is going for us.
  7. What happened to Jim Barker?
  8. I'll say this now. We have to replenish the OL. Job 1 this off season.
  9. Why are we playing Kramdi?
  10. In the words of Joe Zaleski, "I'm optimistic'.
  11. We cut Pigrome for a lot less.
  12. Are we phasing out the gold pants. We had the best home uniform look in the CFL.
  13. I just went "s h i t!!!" & stared at the tv screen watching the bedlam at the Ottawa bench after Crum scored in OT. Sorry, not sorry for Bob Dyce. He signed up coaching a bad team & is getting paid for it so if he wins or loses I don't care. He'll get paid no matter what happens. He beat us & he is an enemy coach. At least this time, I didn't pick up a chair to throw through the tv screen like I wanted to in 1982 after our bogus loss to the Eskimos in the Western Final because of a very borderline RTP call before my Mom stopped me. I acted like a raving lunatic that day. I guess in my old age I have mellowed. Still pissed off with what happened but just took it in stride saying to my wife that the Bombers deserved what happened to them. I also said that Ottawa won their Grey Cup so good on them. Then I just got on with the rest of my day trying to forget about it.
  14. The only concern I have with a cashless society is for people with financial difficulties. That would be bankruptcies or consumer debt repayment agreements. They all involve giving up your credit cards if you're a part of these solutions. It used to be that you could go to your bank & buy a smart card where you could refill it through your bank account. Some had limits up to $10,000. You could use these cards like a credit card. Book a flight, rent a car, pay for a hotel on a vacation, shop, use it for filling up your vehicle, etc. However, most banks have discontinued them. Not profitable enough, I guess. At a time, where consumer debt is at an all time high along with high unemployment rates instead of having more of these bank cards, the banks are getting rid of them. How can people with financial difficulties get by without a credit card in a cashless society? My bank used to have them. As of last February they were discontinued. These smart cards filled a role & had a purpose for a lot of people. I can't imagine how anyone can get by with no credit or smart cards. I think that will become a real problem as we move towards a totally cashless society.
  15. I love that I play bongo drums in your head. You just can't get me out of your mind as you always like to talk about me. I don't care if its cashless at Jets games. It's already cashless at CFL games. I haven't carried any money in my wallet or change in my pocket in years. I use either my credit or debit card. I could use my phone but I choose not to. My choice.
  16. Lawler would have been a difference maker vs Ottawa. He can really stretch the field.
  17. Considering we have 8 billion souls on this planet, it's not surprising. Covid 19 is no longer the killing machine it once was like in late 2019, 2020 & 21.
  18. Osh is very stubborn. I don't see him changing. They won their Grey Cup this year.
  19. Just use common sense taking precautions & live your life.
  20. Sorry, I don't care. Some of you here just refuse to move on. Like it's still 2021 discussing a so called "scary" new sub variant. Get your shots every 6 months & still social distance. Also use hand sanitizer when you're out & about. Quit living in fear. What's next? More mask mandates? Work restrictions? Empty stadiums & arenas?? Restricted travelling by air? Border closures again?? Ain't happening. So, use common sense & live your life.
  21. Bud Grant was like that with his veterans that won him 4 Grey Cups. He bailed in 1967 for the Vikings before the mass exodus of retirements started & left Joe Zaleski with a bare cupboard. Took the Bombers five years to get back to the playoffs under a different HC. Two types of coaches. it seems. The guys that run with the dogs that brung 'em. These coaches are loyal to their players & build a strong team culture that inspires winning. Or the coach that rules by fear. Players fear one bad performance & they may lose their jobs. They know they're all replaceable so they are motivated to play hard all the time or they're gone. Buono & Vince Lombardi were cut from the same cloth.
  22. MOS has won 2 Grey Cups but he's not Wally Buono. He'll stick with his veterans all the way to the end. maybe Walters has to get more involved in the process. Buono cut Allen Pitts & DE Will Johnson. Two CFL All Stars & HOFers. And he cut other veterans as well. He would go into a season thinking he needed to turn over 10% of the roster minimum. Why? Get younger & cheaper.
  23. What do I think of Crum? One game does not a career make.
  24. Just a comment & a question & I don't know where to put it... So, I'll put it here. I don't live in Winnipeg but we've got through a third of the season & we really don't see much of Kyle Walters in the media. At least from my vantage point in Calgary. Has he gone silent? Also, absolutely no word on whether or not Walters is even negotiating a new contract or if he evens wants to be here next year. Should we be concerned?
