  1. What an interesting thread this has turned into.
  2. I'll be in the US so my data plan isn't valid. I usually leave my phone at home. Just take my wife phone as we'll be together. My phone is a crappy old I Phone 7.
  3. Those 3 hours in the car during the game will be tough. I don't know if I'll be searching for the score or not... It may drive me crazy.
  4. I'd nominate Brady for MOC & MOP. Zach's play has tailed off the last half dozen games save for the Banjo Bowl when he was pissed. He needs to bottle that feeling & take a swig from it when he gets complacent or loses his confidence. Brady woukld be a deserving choice. he could conceivably end up wit 1,500-1,600 yards rushing which is unbelievable.
  5. Farhan Lalji was cackling on twitter today just how many healthy Lions bodies were at practice. He sounded positively giddy. The broadcast is going to be brutal. Maybe it's a good thing I'll have to miss the game as I'll be on the road to Seattle. I was grumbling to myself about having to miss it but now I'm kinda glad I will.
  6. Going down that Carefree Highway.
  7. We certainly don't have a ball hawking secondary.
  8. I think KBF was talking in his sleep.
  9. "...but we don't care ..." (add on to your ending)...
  10. I like a little bit of seriousness in Bond. After Connery, Moore just didn't cut it for me. He played Bond the same way he played The Saint's main character Simon Templar. Not very seriously I liked Pierce Brosnan in the role better than Moore. He was closer to Connery's version of 007. Over the years, audiences change. Demographics change. A Bond movie used to be a big deal. Lineups to get in to see it. Now, not so much anymore. Not because Daniel Craig's style of acting or storyline affected the character. It's just times are different now. I think after 60 years, james Bond has run it's course.
  11. It'll be all BC the entire game. get ready for it & for the 20,000 fans in attendance.
  12. Craig was a better Bond than Roger Moore. Who just slept walked thru his role in probably 5 movies. Everything was a joke to Moore & he played Bond that way. After the exceptional way Sean Connery played & developed the character it was a big letdown. I'll take Craig's version any day.
  13. That's one more than Bob Dyce as a Head Coach who I expect will be fired along with his staff in a month. More like Murray Edwards saying, "I don't own the stadium so I'm not putting a penny into upgrades". And, "I want to sell the team but I get no offers so the football budget is frozen." Edwards doesn't care about winning or losing. That's why attendance has cratered. Stamps fans have no hope. They feel totally disrespected. The Stampeders, whoever owns them is going to have a very hard time getting the fans back even if they start winning. The city doesn't care anymore. Thanks to Murray Edwards.
  14. Now, you have me reminiscing. We didn't have any technology back then when I was a kid. Social media & technology wise. Most families had one small 21 inch black & white tv with rabbit ears that constantly had to be moved around for better reception. We just had 3 channels, CBC, CTV & KCND in Pembina, ND that was an ABC station but was beamed directly at Winnipeg. If we saw 3 to 4 televised Bomber away games it was a good season. Generally, it was only a couple. The Bombers were perennial also rans in the West so they were on tv the least of the Western Conference teams. The good teams like Calgary & Saskatchewan were featured more than us. So, I saw more of George Reed, Ronnie Lancaster, Peter Liske & Wayne Harris than that of Ken Ploen, Dave Raimey & Ken Nielsen. It could be 2 months between Bomber home games on CTV or CBC in a given season. The tv contract wasn't very good compared to the coverage we get now on TSN. As much as it pains me to say that because there's a lot of things wrong with the way TSN covers the league, However, at least every game is now televised. So, I can safely say that in reality we are spoiled in comparison to what the tv coverage was say back in the 60's. What we did have back then was blanket coverage in the local media by the newspapers, tv & radio rightsholder depending on the year like CKY. CBWT & CJOB. As well as great writers covering the team like Don Blanchard & John Robertson of the Free Press & Jack Matheson of the old Tribune which we don't have anymore. The CFL & especially Bomber players were bigger than life to me as a kid. They were true superstars. It didn't matter if the Bombers were a good or bad team to me. I loved them anyway starting at age 10 in 1965. George Reed & Ken Ploen were two of those players. Both were stand up, polite, first class men men who were true pros & represented their teams so well. Bigger than life & more important to me than the superstars in other sports like Mickey Mantle in baseball. Rocket Richard in hockey & Bart Starr or Johnny Unitas in football. Those two & others worked & played hard to build the CFL we have today. I'm not going to get into the problems the league has today but it's safe to say that without the older players like George Reed, Ron Lancaster, Ken Ploen, Jack Jacobs, Joe Kapp, Willie Flemimg, Wayne Harris, Don Luzzi, Jackie Parker & Johnny Bright we'd have no CFL today. RIP, George Reed. ,
  15. Again, you don't know that. It comes down to respect. as well as trust. Do his teammtaes respect & trust him? Age means nothing. Brady is a 4 or 5 year pro. When you consider most pro football careers don't last much past that amount of time on average, I think he'd have the ears of his teammates if he speaks.
  16. I respectfully disagree. How can you say that? Leadership has nothing to do with age. It has everything to do with respect & I'm sure Oliveira has plenty of that in the locker room. There were games this season & last where he put the team on his back & won games running the ball late in the game. He handled the pressure & performed.
  17. Well, this was the bonehead of all boneheaded plays. A starting NFL QB earning huge bucks somehow misses not one but TWO wide open receivers in busted coverage & calls a running play. He never even saw it because he wasn't looking. His wideouts are frantically jumping trying to get his attention to no avail. As a qb he took the play off. It was just a simple handoff. No need to go through any reads or progressions to see what the D was actually up to. He was being lazy. Wow, I just don't get the freaking excuses some people have for this guy, He couldn't read defenses. Kneeling just put a fork in his NFL career that was already on the decline. Yeah, sad news.
  18. Maybe the most overrated qb in 49ers history. Kap was garbage his final season. To me, that marine who suggested he kneel really ****** over his career. All that publicity went to his head. Check this out:
  19. I hope you're referring to the Argos & not us.
  20. I watched Guardians of The Galaxy 4 last night. For me, just a little bit of a letdown but it had it's moments. Who thought Dave Bautista could be such a funny actor when he was the enraged gargantuan in WWE??? They finally explained the origins of Rocky as we wondered how a raccoon could talk. Loved the ending when Groot said, "I love you guys!!" That's it for the franchise.
  21. After 14 games, teams have all the video they need to prepare on Kelly. I think that this strategy by Dinwiddie won't make a bit of difference the nect time we play them. AND WE WILL PLAY THEM AGAIN.
  22. I think Brady has developed into a team leader now.
  23. It'll be a while for me & other fans yet. I'll eventually forgive but I figure it'll take (for me) another 3 or 4 years. First of all, he has to get out of that disgusting Argos uniform first for good. He still acts like he enjoys beating us just a little bit too much. I mean, even he has to see why Brady O took his spot. I can't believe that his ego would be that big that he would be blind to the talent Oliveira has. Harris ran out of time here. he could have stayed & fulfilled the same role he now has in Toronto but no..... he wanted to be paid.
  24. More like battling it out with one poster on one thread going back & forth trading barbs & then agreeing & patting him on the back in the next one. Nope. He'll be back. he's won 2 Grey Cups. What's going on in calgary isn't all his fault. A lot of politics going on behind the scenes with ownership. We used to think cal Murphy was cheap? He has nothing over Stamps owner Murray Edwards.
  25. Maybe the biggest upset was 1989 when the first place 16-2 Edmonton Eskimos hosted the third place 9-9 Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Western Final. The Riders defeated the Esks 32-21.
