Week 13 - Labour Day Classic, Bombers @ Riders
SpeedFlex27 replied to MOBomberFan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
If one guy had to go it would be Sanchez. What a POS he was when he played & he still is today on TSN. It isn't very often I hope for an absolute slaughter by the Bombers but I do for this game. Dickenson for being a total asshat afterwards saying what Robertson did really wasn't bad or suspension worthy. Then it was. Michael Ball & Luc Mullinder because those two are dinks & the worst broadcasters in sports saying the Bombers are overreacting & Zach took a dive. And just to destroy the Riders because it's a ****** organization run by morons. Glad I'll be at this coming game. If we win thid game by anything less than 3 touchdowns, I'll be very unhappy. Meanwhile Dandy Randy is has been in hiding since Touchdown Atlantic 2 months ago. Not that there's any media left in this country to ask him tough questions. -
Thank you. I appreciate the insight. Yes, my Dad was certainly different. A heckuva nice guy who'd leave his family hanging with no money. Still dealing with things today, unfortunately. Man, I've climbed more than a few high mountains & deep valleys in my lifetime. Very painful dealing with anger issues. depression, little patience & lack of self confidence. Also trust. I've had issues all my school & then working life with authority figures. I just had a hard time trusting anyone who was my teacher or boss. I've been fired more than once for insubordination. I've tried to get help but it's so hard to find a psychologist to talk things out. I'd like to know why the way I am even at my age. Still trying to be a better person for my family. Anyway, back to the thread here.

There are always consequences to a lifestyle of excess with alcohol &/or drugs. Most die young or years before they should. Unfortunately, my father was an alcoholic & he drank himself to death. He may have lived a long life otherwise but his liver & brain were pickled. That may sound callous as I loved my father & watching someone slowly kill themselves while being helpless to do anything about it is the worst thing a loved one can experience. So, that is how I handle things when I think or talk about him by being a bit aloof. It sounds a little cruel but it's how I still handle the grief of his life & death. Even though my Dad has been gone for 21 years, there are days I still get angry for being cheated out of spending more time with him as well as the negative experiences I had as a kid when he drank. Our place a lot of the time was like a nuthouse. Just utter chaos that I won't get into. My Mother did her best to hold things together & to her everlasting credit she did. The one saving grace of my Dad's alcoholism was that he was a happy drunk. He never once struck her, myself or my siblings. I'm thankful for that one small bit of God's mercy as that would have been the end of us as a family. As a result of being a constant party guy & not being violent, she hung in with him right to the end. No doubt to keep us all together. My Mother was a Saint. Dad would disappear for days & we didn't know if he was alive or dead. A lot of times, we didn't have food in the house as when he disappeared into his alcoholic abyss, he'd always drink away the money that was supposed to be used for groceries. He'd come home three or 4 days late totally broke. Or with just enough money left over for emergency groceries like bread, milk or eggs. Sometimes, our one or two of my Mom's friends who were our neighbours or aunts & uncles would help us out with food iof things were desperate. When I was old enough to stay home alone in grade 3 or 4 as I was the youngest, my Mom got a job as a maid just to be able to feed the family. Dad was just happier drunk than sober. No idea why my father had so much pain & felt the need to be medicated constantly by alcohol. I wish I was able to have found out just so I could try to understand. When he was alive, I never felt the need to ask. Now, I wish that I did but it's too late. The final 10 years of his life my father had stopped drinking because he had forgotten he drank. He spent his final decade of his life at the Riverview Health Centre on the Alzheimers Ward. The 60 plus years of abuse did their damage as he developed senility & ultimately the final deed was done. He once told me he started smoking & was already getting drunk on a regular basis by the age of 9. His older brother by 2 years also was an alcoholic & died the same way. They were partners in crime, I guess. How do kids get liquor & smokes at that age?? Who is evil enough to give it to them? Well. somehow they both did. Just so sad. My condolences to the family of Steve Hartwell.

You'll never stop Ford's running completely but the only way is by making him throw. He may get to a point where he's a competent passer in this league but UI suspect he'll never be elite. Too much dependency on his legs so he's run first & throw second. He had 136 yards rushinbg & only 119 yards passing & throwing just 19 times. Not a recipe for success as a CFL qb. And of course, the more he runs the higher the risk of injury. We've all seen these young athletic looking qbs come in, dazzle us with their running brilliance only to fade away eventually because they could never throw. So, we'll see if he develops into a Tracy Ham or a Terrence Jones. For those of you who don't know who or never heard of Terrence Jones, he was a super athletic qb who could scramble & run like crazy during his CFL career in the 90's. He would have been best described as a "Coach Killer" because he had all the physical tools to be a success but intellectually it just didn't happen. Coaches who started Jones always lost. We've had plenty of athletic Terrence Jones type qbs come up here & fail. As well as take head coaches down with them. Multi year is all I know. Bob Young could fire him & eat the cost but he won't. The fans in Hamilton deserve a lot better from their owner because the team just gets worse every year under Steinhauer. He's a lot like Jets owner Mark Chipman with loyalty to his employees. -

He wears like 3 different hats & is under a long term deal like Jones. They can't fire him. -

You know if Milt was headbutted like that by Sanchez when they played against one another he'd have been crying to all the media about how Sanchez should be suspended. -

WTH is Milt's excuse? I expect it from an asshat like Sanchez. Not Milt??? I mean, how can he condone what happened?? -

I've been out all afternoon & I pvr'd the Hammy & Stamps games. I just finished watching the pre game show on TSN & they found out Robertson was just suspended 1 game. Of course, Sanchez thinks its wrong because he hates the Bombers. Sanchez goes off on how O & DL head butt each other as do linebackers. Then he says that he understands the CFL wants to protect the qb. Then he says the suspension is unfair & tells Dunigan... Dunigan... whose had a number of concussions, had to retire because of them & still suffers their lingering effects today just how dumb the suspension is. Really??? Dunigan? Then Milt starts yelling at Sanchez, "I agree! I agree!!" WTF has happened to Stegall? He agrees with Sanchez that the headbut suspension on Robertson is wrong??? Now, Milt is a dirtbag like Sanchez. -

I'm still angry with the Bombers for having such a piss poor effort yesterday & the headbutt yesterday. I don't care who wins today. And btw, in calgary it's nine degrees, raining & smoky. Air quality is close to 10. The only thing missing to make this a special day weather wise is snow. If 15,000 show up for this game, I'll be shocked. -

Go home, Rider Troll. **** them. -
Either the media like Ed Tait works for the Bombers so he'll just write fluff & feel good stories on the Bomber website or the one or two media left covering the team are so afraid of asking the tough questions & lose their media accreditations that they don't hold the coach or GM's feet to the fire with tough questions or scathing articles like we used to see years ago with the Tribune's & later CJOB Jack Matheson or the Free Press Don Blanchard. They'd be all over the way Osh manages the roster or why he decided to concede two singles yesterday. Alas, we get none of that today.

It would have automatically been reviewed by the Command Centre as it was a scoring play. It doesn't need to be challenged. It sure looks like it wasn't a touchdown. Looks like the ball touched the ground before the Rider receiver cradled it. Right or wrong ( looks wrong to me) the CC calls it. Once they make a decision, it's not reversible. No doubt we got screwed. -
Ambrosie's too busy telling us the CFL is stronger & better than ever. Expansion into Halifax is imminent, he says. No owner or political will to build a stadium, you say? We don't sweat the small stuff, he says. We don't have time for player safety. We. Have. A. League. To. Build, don't you know???

This game has left me in a sour mood. I'm still angry about it hours later. Zero yards passing in the first quarter??? Like WTH??? I never would have believed it had someone said that would have happened before the game. Inexcusable with our receiving corps..

I thought that would have fired up the team to win but once again questionable decisions & bad plays cost us the game. Okay, don't get so damned dramatic. Collaros missed one play before the offense went out & was back in next series. I'm not downplaying it but if you think the CFL will suspend a player for life over that??? Come on. It should be an automatic ejection followed by a fine & a 3 game suspension. It won't be, however. -

That was a headbutt. A stupid, selfish & undisciplined play by Roberts certainly suspension worthy & he should have been ejected. Not a broken leg or domestic violence. They won't ban Roberts for that head butt. However, the other stuff is BS & way too lenient. -

Blame the CBA. Suspensions can be appealed. I think the most a player can receive is 3 games. The financial penalty is half a game patcheque. I just about hit the roof when Suitor said that Morrow is being a good teammate to Roberts with his long return. What a bunch of garbage. I know what Suitor was trying to say but it came out douchey. -

And a DB shouldn't be thinking Pick 6 every time a team throws it. Or BC. -

Their primary job is to turn the play inside & not let the running backs get outside of them. For the most part they did that. Morrow did have some longer runs, though. Jeffcoat had one sack at least while Jefferson had a knockdown. -

What is it going to take for Osh to smarten up & throw a challenge flag on a play like that??? What are the coaches up top doing?
