  1. The RedBlacks have holes in their secondary. Receivers as a group are average. The OL is weak. They can open holes for the run game but they aren't good at pass blocking. Dustin Crum plays in a very conservative, don't take any chances passing attack. His biggest weapon are his legs & for some reason he doesn't run anymore. Right now, the biggest problem is a lack of coaching. The players need help but aren't getting it. They are right where they deserve to be. Last place & sinking.
  2. Other way around. Jones & McAdoo reportedly felt that Ford was the worst of the three. Reporters who watched practice felt Doege was their best qb. Ford second & Cornelius third.
  3. In the first decade & a half of the New Millenium they beat us 10 straight years. A damned decade worth of LD games. So, how can anyone be so confident that we'll just waltz into Mosaic Stadium & win?? That's a foolish assumption no matter what the two teams records are.
  4. Who is taking first team reps this week for the Riders? Fine or Dolegala?
  5. There's talk about the league tinkering with the coaches cap so it isn't punitive anymore affecting changing up or firing staffs. If that happens there'll be more than one team that'll be looking for new people as managers & coaches. Ottawa will be one of them.
  6. Winning is the only thing in pro football. No one felt sorry for LaPo when he lost Massoli last season. He knew he was done as soon as Marino took his star qb down. Fans in Ottawa have put up with some bad, bad football the past few years & patience is at a premium. The RedBlacks as an organization can't be okay with the status quo staying the same. I think he'll be replaced at season's end. They never should have lost to the Elks. More than a few.
  7. This loss may have sealed Bob Dyce's fate. The RedBlacks looked just awful. The entire team just looks to be regressing. Dustin Crum's star has just crumbled. For some reason, it looks like KJ has told him not to run but to stand in the pocket or throw on the run behind the LOS instead of taking off with the ball. Which is a big part of his game like Tre Ford does. Crum will never beat a CFL team with his arm. The Ottawa secondary isn't good at all.
  8. Dave Naylor & TSN sure pump the guy's tires. Edmonton or Ottawa should draft him 31 as BC would pay a King's ransom to get him in a trade.
  9. Long time ago. Thanks for getting it straight. Thanks for setting the record straight in great detail as that was 25 years ago. I never watched ECW but I did watch WCW. I actually liked WCW better than WWF.
  10. Stubler was a great defensive mind. He had a lot of success with a number of CFL teams. I remember after Tim Burke was fired, posters here at MBB were hoping that Stubler would be our HC but I think he went to the Stamps to be their DC under John Hufnagel, I can't remember. I don't think Stubler wanted to take on the gigantic task at his age (mid 60's) to rebuild the Bombers back then. We were a terrible team at the time. As bad as it got so he went elsewhere. We ended up hiring Mike O'Shea instead. Things happen for a reason.
  11. The Lions defense has problems. VAJ is doing alright for the most part. That has to be a real concern. Adams is lighting it up & they're losing.
  12. Maier has at least 3 more picks than td passes so that'll affect his QBR. As well as two or 3 pick 6's.
  13. Which may cause the NFL to take a pass on the guy.
  14. I never take any team for granted. Remember Ottawa?? Look at last night. So, until we have a comfortable lead in any game we play, I don't breathe easy.
  15. Dunigan especially. He always talks about hws great some young qb is doing when he isn't. He tries to constantly to find sunshine in a storm cloud. Most of these guys are total **** qbs. Even now, he still pumps the tires for Caleb Evans, a guy whose sun never rose past the horizon before going right back down. Just a terrible backup CFL qb. Even in his win the last time he played for the Als he was crap throwing the ball. And he's still in the CFL. Then there's Dominique Davis. WTF is he still doing in the CFL??? Usually the leading passer is among the best couple of qbs in the league. Maier isn't even Top 5. So, lading passer in this situation means nothing when his team is 3-8.
  16. That's an insane rule in thre collective agreement. A rookie coming into the CFL even if he played or was on a PR roster for a couple of years can only be signed to the CFL minimum. We need to find new stars in this league to bring the fans back. This doesn't do it.
  17. As far as commercials go, just about every one of them is annoying. Especially when we see them repeated over & over during a game. All it proves is just how stupid advertisers think consumers are. I've started PVR'ng the games now & waiting an hour or more before I watch. That way, I can FF thru all the commercials. Which is why I never partake in the conversation here during games much anymore. I come by afterwards. Not seeing all those dumbass commercials is so nice. I also don't like the 5-5:30 pm MDT start times as I'm usually bbq'ng or just relaxing on my deck with my wife. I can watch the games when I want & not when TSN tells me.
  18. Based on what I saw of Powell he & Dru Brown are on par. Brown has another year of experience in a high powered offense but right now, both have about the same anount of actual game experience. You look at the qb situation in the CFL & where could they both end up? Ottawa looks like they'll stick with Crum. Argos have Kelly. Hamilton will probably try to lock Powell up long term as I can't see Bo levi coming back & is Matthew Schilz the real deal? Don't know as he's not playing. Fajardo is actually playing well in Montreal. I think they stick with him. In the West, BC has Adams, Calgary has Maier & I think Dickenson & Hufnagel see him as their long term qb going forward. Saskatchewan is definitely a place where either Powell or Dru Brown could land. Especially if Trevor Harris retires. However, Mason Fine has shown some potential as well. Zach Collaros is entrenched here so if Brown wants to start he then has to leave. Edmonton is a wasteland. It may be where qbs go to die. Especially if Chris Jones stays on after this season. But we know if these 2 don't re-sign with their respective teams that the Elks will go hard after both.
  19. Lieghhio made his kicks last night but just barely. They were all pulling to the left & just getting in by a thread. He could have had another 2 or 3 misses. You'd think he'd be working on centering his kicks but it looks like he never does. But he's the Ti Cats problem now. Not ours.
  20. Before ECW, the WCW had a Cruiserweight Division where Eddie & Chavo Guerrero wrestled. As did Chris Jerico, Juventud Guerrra, Dean Malenko, Psychosis, Billy Kidman, Rey Mysterio & others.. There was high flying action. The WWF (at the time) preferred the bigger wrestlers. The smaller performers seldom made the roster. The Guerreros, Dean Malenko, Kidman, Rey Mysterio & jericho all had success in WWF.
  21. Teams sure have challenges signing players with these one year deals. So many things come into play.
  22. Did anyone notice the sack Mathieu Betts got tonight he tripped Powell with his foot as he scrambled away? No penalty. No idea how that could have been missed as it was a flagrant trip.
  23. What is the relationship between Jameer Thurman & James Butler? Farhan Lalji was interviewing them both aftet the game & he mentioned something about them being together but never went into it in any detail. Akll Lalji said that when Butler signed with the Ti Cats then Thurman wanted to play there as well. Thurman played Mac with the Stamps & was a major loss for the team when he left. He was their best player on defense.
  24. I have no idea where to find the up to date stats. Bush freaking league.
  25. Losing looks good on the BC Lions & their DC Ryan Phillips.. Bunch of yappy Lions DBs & an arrogant defensive coach were shut up tonight by a struggling rookie Hamilton qb & a former Lions running back James Butler. Ti cat QB Taylor Powell did his best Tom Brady imitation tonight. Looks like firing Tommy Condell & replacing him with Scott Milanovich was the right move for the Ti cat offense. The Lions DL was dominated tonight by the Hammy Hoggies. Hey, too bad Davis Sanchez wasn't on the panel tonight. Remember, according to him the Lions have the best personnel in the CFL & it wasn't even close. LMAO.
