  1. The last thing I want to hear from Walters is we won't be active in free agency. We have some obvious holes particularily on defense that need shoring up. I dentify our core, sign as many as he can & then try to fix the holes.
  2. There's no way Macron or his government is conservative. The French voted for Macron & his Rennaisance Party as a reaction in the runoff election to marine Le Penn, the far alt right Presidential candidate. Even though he won, the runoff election, the French for the most part hate the guy. He was looked upon as the lesser of 2 evils. Half to 3/4 of those governments mentioned have leftist ideas when it comes to finance, government interference in Euro citizens daily lives (not talking vaccine madates, either) & climate change.
  3. I'm disgusted at the way things are now. Completely disenfranchised.
  4. Blah, blah, Blah. He has to get the Republican nomination first & no guarantee that he will.
  5. In the US, I'd be an Independent. Europe? Most governments are leftist.
  6. The GC loss won't sit well with the Bombers. I don't expect them to stand pat. While I don't think we'll go crazy at free agency time, I do expect the team to address some glaring issues like the interior DL, Maybe sign a free agent OL, receiver & linebacker. The key is to try & keep every key free agent we have. For cryin'out loud, sign Darby this time around. It'll be interesting to watch the exodus of free agents from Saskatchewan. That'll be fun.
  7. I wish Pele well. The best soccer player of his time.
  8. Moderates like me don't like far the right or far left. Other than politics, both aren't alternatives I want to discusss.
  9. Other than a few games that got away from them, Benevides D really hung in there all season.
  10. I figured Dyce would have kept Benevides. Guess not.
  11. And how would you describe the marriage between the federal Liberals & NDP? The only way Singh can even sniff at power is propping up the Liberals. As I said before, he's a rube. His party is dying as the Liberals move to the left even more.
  12. I thought Benevides defense played very well last season. It was the offense that was putrid. They couldn't get first downs, maintain drives & score.
  13. He's certainly going nowhere. We here who are posters aren't in personnel so we have no idea the contract status of kickers everywhere. I can assure you that there are better kickers than Liegghio out there. We watch them every week. Walters made it known yesterday that Liegs will have to work to keep his kicking position & that maybe doing all 3 jobs isn't the best idea for him or the team.
  14. I'm no constitutional expert but I don't know why Alberta doesn't just do what Quebec does. Just use the Not Withstanding Clause to opt out of laws we don't like like such as gun control, climate change legislation, etc. I know why Smith wants an AB pension plan, to collect our income taxes & form a provincial police force as well as control immigration. Smith wants a firewall around Alberta. Have things in place in the event that the government actually attempts separation down the road.
  15. When Dan Clark won his CFL Award, he cracked a one liner that "no qb was harmed in the making of this speech". That kind of summed up all the problems that team is having. Why would a player joke about how bad the OL he plays for is? I'm sure Fajardo appreciated the stand up.
  16. CFL people are turning down having anything to do with the Riders as OC because of JOD keeping Dickenson & Craig Reynolds for not firing JOD. I mean, that organization is so screwed up. It's their own fault, though. Not cleaning house. No one wants anything to do with the Riders.
  17. If we have universal heath care then we need to have universal coverage pharmaceutical & dental for all instead of just a small percentage of the population. Tha AB Party is totally a non factor. They have historically polled at or near 2%, They should favour voters like me but they're invisible.
  18. I love Ellingson but what a waste of money he was. Hate to say it as he used to be an impact player. It is what it is.
  19. I'm definitely a right leaning centrist conservative. i agree with what you say.
  20. Not much. Maybe pull out a victory over a team they were supposed to lose to. Seeing a spark on the field with a new HC. Improved play. Anything to show even a little improvement. Didn't see any of that in Ottawa under Dyce. I think the injury to Massoli really threw an anchor around the entire organization from management to coaches to players. The "Why Me" syndrome. Why? Why? Why???? The entire organization was like it fell into a team depression. LaPo just couldn't do anything about it. Or couldn't motivate his players to overcome it. Maybe the malaise was so entrenched that even Mike O'Shea wouldn't to have been able to overcome it, let alone Dyce. Anyway, good luck to him. I hope he is successful.
  21. Why are your shorts in a knot? It's just a discussion about our former coach on another team's social media.
  22. How many Dalton Schoen's come along? One every 20 years? If anything Weineke will come cheaper on a 1 year deal to prove his last season performance was a down year fluke.
  23. I'm a conservative voter as well. There are some things about Pollievre that I like & other things that I don't like his support of the convoy & the wacko leaders last winter. However, as we found out with Erin O'Toole, the CPC need to have a clear alternative to Trudeau's Liberals. You can't muddy the waters as a middle of the road party & then wonder why you're dirty when you come out to dry. It doesn't work. Canadians seem to want an alternative so Pollievre's giving it to them. It remains to be seen if Canadians will support a leader who also supported lawlessness.
