  1. He got a two year $4.5 million deal with incentives for another 2 million. They wanted Beathard back. Rourke's going to find the NFL a humbling & frustrating experience like most CFL qbs that went through this also have.
  2. i first watched Gordon Pinsent on the CBC tv series, The Forest Rangers from 1963-66. He plays RCMP Officer Sgt Scott, a Mountie who is stationed at Indian River in Northern Ontario at a Hudson Bay post called Indian River. Rest In Peace, Gordon Pinsent.
  3. What? Is this a Manitoba problem? That's terrible. Having to go to Cleveland?? You can say what you want about Alberta politics but I've never heard that option being mentioned to anyone on a waiting list here. My orthopedic surgeon has a waiting list of a year. It took me 3 months to see him this time. I didn't need another referral as he already knew me & kept it open for me to get my knee done when I was ready. He has wanted me to have the surgery since I first saw him in late 2018. I guess I'm lucky. I hope things work out for you getting your knee done much sooner than later. He's finished before he started. Beathard is Number 2 in stone. The articles I've read don't even mention Rourke.
  4. I think I've told the story before where the Stamps refuse to do what the Bombers do. To have a 3 or 5 game flex pack. They have no special packages for families. The club used to have the Safeway & London Drugs Family Section where a ticket was $30 at one of those stores. They had them for years but Safeway no longer sells those tickets. There's virtually no marketing/advertising for tickets of any kind. It's no wonder the team didn't have more than 15-18,000 at most games last year. The Stamps have to be the worst (laziest? cheapest??) team in the CFL. Speaking of Flex Packs, I have to decide if I'm going to renew my 3 game pack. I got a call from the Bombers last week asking me what I was going to do. I want to renew but I have a knee replacement booked at the Rockyview Hospital on April 19th. I won't be able to travel for 6-8 weeks as I could be at risk for a blood clot. Then I'll have to do some pretty intense physio to get my range of motion back in my knee. So, by the time I can actually go to a game it'll be September. I'm hoping to get to the Banjo Bowl. That's my goal. Go to the Banjo Bowl. I'll probably give up my Flex Pack for 2023.
  5. If they don't, they don't. Things happen for a reason. I'm sure Chipman will extend Chevy's contract if they don't.
  6. We all know Evans & what to expect. We also know that when he plays if he has a couple of sacks or gets smacked around. his game craters. At 30 years of his age, it's hard for a Leopard to change his spots. Looks like he's a backup now.
  7. You're correct but most kicks bend as they travel. This one was left almost right off the bat. I could tell on the replay Leggs didn't hit it like he should have. i just want to be clear, I think Leggs will be a great punter. I'm just not sure he's a pro kicker. He'll be on the Bomber roster next season in some capacity.
  8. I saw MBT ratch out being when being taken out of a game up 35 or down 35 it didn't matter. Or start fighting on the sidelines with Brandon banks. I guess that's unique leadership.
  9. I. Watched. The. Game. Thank. You. For. Your. Comment.
  10. He hit it & it was going to the left. Fans & media at the game who saw it were also saying so.
  11. I have no problem with Legghio being our full time punter but I sure do as a kickoff specialist & kicker. We need real kicking compettition at TC & not someone who was even worse like Ali Mourtada.
  12. What do you expect him to say? I missed??? Which he would have done if it wasn't blocked.
  13. It takes years to rebuild an OL as we found out here. The Riders are hoping a couple of old veterans will turn things around. Which it won't.
  14. Or the talk that we give up too soon & don't bother to develop them. Like one poster said, "Does it matter??"
  15. More like they don't trust their offensive lines to protect them.
  16. Again, like Colin, I ask you just who are these great kickers you both allude to? Give us some names. Don't say Paredes as that's already been covered. And we replaced Lirim Hajrullahu with Medlock which was a no brainer. American kicker Brent Maher??? Since 2014, when he was releasd by the Bombers he's been with 11 CFL & NFL teams. How can a team develop a vagabond kicker whose only interest is to chase the money like that??? Take away those 3 names in the last decade to 15 years, then who are you talking about?
  17. You must be stuck in 1983 or something. Back when kickers like Passaglia, Ridgeway, Cutler, Kennerd, Organ & others played their entire careers with their CFL team. Very few players today, including kickers & punters play for just one team their entire career. Who cares where we get our kickers from? I don't care if we develop them or not as today they move around not just from tean to team but from league to league. Like Lirim & Castillo. So, they'll probably "excel" with another team anyway. Paredes is the exception with today's kickers & he's retiring after this season.
  18. Give me the long list of kickers we gave up on other than Hirim. And we gave up on him & signed Medlock so don't tell us it was a mistake.
  19. You seem to think there's some magic way to evaluate talent & always make the right decision. It doesn't work that way. Too many intangibles. We could try to develop Leggs for 5 years & if he doesn't have it well, it was a huge waste of time. But that's how it always works. Some other kicker comes in & nails it right from the start. You see it at every position. There's no right or wrong. As far as the Bombers giving up on Paredes, we had Justin Palardy who was kicking well so he wouldn't have had a good evaluation from the team at the time. I'm not trying to argue with you here. We never gave up on him. We didn't need him. At the time, no one knew he would become an elite kicker.
  20. This piece of trash will probably run for President someday.
  21. Paredes was an impact kicker right away for the Stamps. His very first FG attempt he nailed it from over 50 yards. He always seems relaxed & focused when he kicks. Even when he misses. He just shrugs it off & forgets about it. As he is older now, he has trouble with any kicks over 50 yards. Not with accuracy but leg strength. He rarely kicks anything past 45 yards now.
