  1. I guess I have to see a guy who does well whenever he comes in. Like rookies in the past. Dickenson, Garcia, Rourke. Collaros, Mitchell, Dunigan, Clements, Allen, Ham & others. They were different. They made mistakes but didn't struggle as much like other rookies. They seemed to "get it" as far as the 3 down game goes while other rookies didn't. They made the most of their chances & from watching them we knew they'd be the next generation of qb stars. They just seemed to grasp the game faster than others who failed & then made plays like veteran qbs with more experience. That's what I want to see. Dru Brown standing out as a qb like the other guys did. Not just one game or a single drive but whenever he gets the chance. We haven't seen enough to annoint him The Next One like you think he is. I hope Brown's feet are frozen firmly to the ground on the sidelines for the entire game on Sunday & Collaros plays. That is, unless we're up by three scores with under a minute to play & he finishes the game handing off to Oliveira. I know I'll get slammed for this post about Brown but my observations comes from watching young qbs come & go since 1965. Always wondering why some guys made it & others didn't. Some qbs that were extremely talented & were supposed to be a "sure thing" were a disappointing flop. Others with far less tools in their toolbox became successful CFL qbs.
  2. Well, we don't know what O'Shea thinks of CoFaj. As well, with a different culture & coaching staff he could do very well here. Besides, he would be a backup to Collaros & not a starter. I remember when John Hufnagel was traded by the Riders here for rookie Bomber qb Nicki Hall just a couple of weeks after Murphy traded for Tom Clements. People felt that Huff was washed up as well but he & Clements were dynamite as a qb tandem for us. I'm sure Huff didn't want to play second fiddle to Clements & he had to take a paycut to play here. However, he knew he was coming to a winning team similar in culture to what we have now. He had to buy in 100% to Cal Murphy's version of FIFO or he'd be gone. Huff played for years on some bad Stamps & Rider teams. He came here & won a Grey Cup. I don't think he ever regretted it.
  3. Okay. And??? If that's his resume to be our long term starter if Collaros ever does suffer a serious injury, what say you then? We're in good hands because of one drive? I say we really should have a veteran who can go in & at least give us a chance to win if needed. The third string qb should be the developmental guy. What is the difference between Brown & Prukop right now? I'd say not a whole lot.
  4. Not convinced, Yet to show he's capable of leading this team if need be. He's still a kid. I love Noeller's reaction to this post. Like suddenly this is the Twilight Zone. Lol.
  5. Look at Willie Jefferson. Four years ago he was all about himself on the field & Bomber fans hated him. Now he's embraced the Bombers, his teammates, the City of Winnipeg & the fans. He's totally bought into FIFO. Fajardo wants to win so to play here he'd buy in.
  6. The Argos beat the Sarnia Imperials in 1933 when the ORFU could challenge for the Grey Cup. Even back then, while it was close, the ORFU was considered an inferior league. The Argos played in the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union or Big 4 as it was also called. When the CFL was formed in 1958, the Grey Cup became the league's permanent trophy. No longer could senior men's teams in Canada challenge for it. By 1958, the ORFU had stopped challenging anyway as they were getting hammered by Western Interprovincial Football Union or IRFU teams. I think 1954 may have been the last year they challenged. Just as a sidenote, the ORFU Imperials (named after Imperial Oil which was the main employer at their refinery in Sarnia & who sponsored the team). If you played on the team you had a permanent job so that attracted a lot of players from Canada & the US who needed work back in the Depression Years. Sarnia won two Grey Cups. In 1934 vs the Regina Roughriders & 1936 against the Ottawa Rough Riders.
  7. So would I. they are such great unis it's a shame we seem afraid to wear them in a Grey Cup game.
  8. A well coiffed Jesus Christ straight out of a Men's Hairstyling Shop in Regina & a Winnipeg Blue Bomber season ticket holder since AD 1930 shown here busy converting Rider fans in becoming ardent followers of the Blue Bombers.
  9. Orlando Steinhauer's message to Dane Evans. "Piss off . You're more trouble than you're worth."
  10. When my son was at SFU back in 2014, they converted some of the dorms on the upper floors in one of the towers on campus to an actual hotel. People could stay there. My wife went to visit Tyler & she stayed at the dorms...errr... hotel on campus. They had concierge service & cleaning staff. My wife said the hotel was nice. Maybe the U of R is doing the same? With the lack of provincial govt funding, across the country, universities have to be creative to raise money.
  11. I'd love if we could sign Matthew Schilz as a backup to Collaros. He's shown to be a pretty good qb. I think he's better than Evans but if the Ti Cats sign Bo that changes everything in Hamilton. If Bo signs in Hammy would Schilz stick around? The Ti Cats are sending a direct message to Dane Evans to take his sob story diva act somewhere else. I'm not convinced Dru Brown is the long term answer here. Imagine if we have to play the kid in the GC like we did Dinwiddie in 2007?? That thought is horrible. I just wish we had an experienced & competent backup qb.
  12. i saw a column from a Hamilton journalist who covers the Ti Cats saying that there's two more players that'll get a chance to win a Grey Cup with another team that they won't get there. Then he questioned the way Steinhauer & his coordinators uses theirpersonnel. That their talents are being wasted. Or are being played out of position asking them to perform when they can't. He'll find losing next year a common event after Rourke leaves.
  13. Last year's Western Final was a lot colder & windy than Sunday.
  14. It's hard to trust a kicker who misses two converts in the Western Final.
  15. Agree with that. How do they keep all those players?? They have a huge $$$ problem.
  16. Yeah, seeing Rourke cry was fine with me as well. It shows he cares. Some guys will be quiet & not say a word, Others will swear & punch their locker. Others will cry. Everybody handles a situation like this differently.
  17. Wow, exciting finish. Collaros is walking around so I'm hoping he'll be fine in a week.
  18. He has a coat on the sidelines done up so he's finished.
  19. Our interior of the defensive line can't get pressure up the middle. That is something Walters needs to address this off season.
  20. We are killing BC's D Line. Killing IT!!
  21. Ellingson has been invisible I thought he'd be a monster today.
  22. Hey, the Lions did what they had to do, according to Suitor. The Bombers did as well but not mentioned.
