  1. He's lucky it was blocked as he missed it otherwise. Then the shitshow would have really begun. Castillo isn't Canadian.
  2. Don't agree. This year is more important because it is 2023. I'll worry about 2025 when it's 2025.
  3. Why is it suddenly so hard to build a 5,000 seat arena for the Ice?
  4. BTW, Paredes has become a Calgary firefighter. From what I understand, the CFD is giving him a lot of leeway this coming season with scheduling of his shifts in order to practice & play. So, Paredes is coming back for one final season but it'll be his last as he'll be retiring. Whoever takes his place will have huge shoes to fill. Paredes like Medlock will probably be in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame someday.
  5. Rob maver struggled doing both punting & kicking for the Stamps. He was so dismal the Stamps had an open tryout for kicker in just his second year a month after the season had started. Some kid named Rene Paredes showed up & made his way onto the Stamps roster replacing Maver as the Stamps placekicker. Maver became just a punter & eventually one of the best, if not the best at net yardage & directional punting. A CFL & CFLPA all star by the time he retired over a decade later. I can see a parallel with Liegghio. I think he's better suited & potential to be a great punter. Just like Maver was.
  6. It's hard to believe that he wasn't rated higher across the league.
  7. So, living in YYC I never paid much attention to the arena that was built. But why? Why??? Why would City & provincial politicians agree to something like that????
  8. Time to pay off True North.
  9. The Ice would be better off under the umbrella of True North. They know hockey. They could fit the Ice into Canada Life Centre if the Flames can do the same at the Saddledome. The busier the arena, the better.
  10. I remember seeing her in One Million Years BC in Grade 7 running around in a skimpy 2 piece. Myself & 2 friends skipped classes to go see an afternoon matinee at the Park Theatre on Osborne Street. The dreams little 12 year old boys are made of.
  11. Playing at that old fleabag arena is a joke. But to say it's Winnipeg's fault they'll be losing this team? Nah, that's on ownerhip.
  12. So, according to mostly Argos & Ti Cats fans on social media we now no longer a hard salary cap but a luxury tax.. Just pay the money in fines & who cares about going over the limit.
  13. Stopping the run is a physical thing. Sure MLB's are supposed to do that. But having someone like a Steve Richardson there helps Biggie. Takes a lot of chances for injuries away. if we solve out interior DL issues we;ll win another Grey Cup. If not, we could be runner ups again. Window of opportunity to win it all closes fast.
  14. I read somewhere that Bailey made up to $120,000 so I don't think we're far off. I'd rather "overpay" Bailey under the Bombers salary grid than give starter money to Agudosi & he's injured for multiple games like Ellingson was.
  15. Mike, realistically just who did he have playing in front of Bighill & Wilson stopping the run? We had no pressure from the interior of the DL on opposition qbs nor did we have a true gap run stopper like we did in 2021. Biggie had his pass responsibilities & then had to step up to also stop the run. The guy was gassed & beat up by mid season. We didn't have Steve Richardson to take care of things in 2022. He caused a lot of havoc inside & with Jeffcoat & Jefferson, OLs had real problems blocking all 3. I was hoping we'd address ou r biggest weakness on the team in free agency but we haven't so far. It's no coincidence there was a lot of injuries & sub par play at the linebacker & secondary positions. With no interior pass rush & the ability to stop the run the back end of any defense suffers. Give it a rest. You just suck the life out of this place.
  16. The guy was cruising to a 1500 yard season until he got hurt & missed 9 freaking games with an injury we still know nothing about. What a waste of money Ellingson was. But we keep signing these 33 year old plus receivers & we're surprised when they can't play.
  17. Getting this guy back is a great thing.
  18. He's ust sucking up to the fanbase, Bluto.
  19. I agree. We have a guy in Bailey still relatively young at 29 who always plays. Agudosi is now also 29 years old & hasn't established himself yet as a starter. To me, it's a no brainer . I'd keep Bailey.
  20. That article... by Paul Friesen. Why is it Winnipeg's fault if the ownership is underfunded & don't have the money to build a proper arena? Sell the team to other investors who will get a building an arena done. If they move the team from a market of 750,000 to Wenatchee, WA with a population of 35,000 that's on ownership. Not the City of Winnipeg. Why can't they play at Canada Life Centre like the Hitmen do in Calgary? Maybe True North should buy them.
  21. It makes no sense to me at all. The guy is a baller thru & thru. Tough & physical. He's willing to do whatever he needs to do on every play to win. I really want the gjy back.
